    Hey guys. Think I can offer some help here. I first got the yips in 7th grade after airballing a free throw in a middle school basketball game when a bunch of people were there watching. I had this horrible feeling of dread and disappointment. Became so afraid of this feeling that I ended up with a “fear of fear” response to every high pressure situation during high school golf, basketball, and baseball. This lasted even through college baseball, and I ended up quitting because the fear was overpowering my love for the game. I ended up learning that my gaba to glutamate balance was WAY OFF. Glutamate is an excitatory neurotransmitter that can make me energized but jittery and nervous if too high. GABA is a calming neurotransmitter that helps me stay relaxed in high pressure situations. Things that help stimulate gaba production(from my experience) are a ketogenic diet, vitamin b1, b6, theanine, inositol and taurine. Also, cinnamon has helped tremendously because it keeps your blood sugar extremely stable even in the presence of caffeine. I can honestly say that a ketogenic diet with cinnamon in my coffee has helped me get over the yips at about 90%.

    sick video man, I just have a quick question, I have owned a 33.5 all star pro elite for about a year now and im just finding that the pocket isnt deep enough where my glove cant actually close all the way and its led to a few balls poping out even though the glove is fully broken in. I wear 2 in the pinky to try and give myself the deepest possible pocket but its still not quite there. Do you have any advise ? and I was wondering if a rawlings pro preffered had a deep pocket?

    as a current juco guy. i’ve had my 33” Russell Martin Pro Preferred since Freshman year of HS. I’ve had 2 33.5” all stars. And both were starting to feel like my index were getting stiff after a game or day of bullpens. currently breaking in a pro preferred gameday 57 JT realmuto which is 34”, aside from the break in time, Id say rawlings catchers mitts might be the way to go.

    This video is exactly what I’ve experienced in my sons’ outcome with different training. Unfortunately, I’ve witnessed many trainers blaming/becoming frustrated with young athletes because these just “keep making the same mistakes “…. Thank you for clarifying this!

      @vannesshestingandair 17 дней назад

      I also see trainers rush to the next “level” during every lesson. For hitting, trainers go from a small window of tee, to a small time at front toss, right into a pitching machine to finish up. I believe this progression should be slower and “earned”.

    If you're Columbian, it might kill you...well in soccer. But that was the most awesome explanation I've ever heard, thanks! I had it ONLY throwing from 2nd, never mind the pin point accuracy on the mound or the lasers from 3rd. 2nd base was 10 feet over the pitchers head. I've had it in ping pong, tennis. I'm going to give this a shot.

    For a little while, and I know this might sound crazy, I had the yips when I threw back to certain pitchers. Much of the problem started when as I was about to throw it back to the pitcher they happened to quickly turn away from the plate after throwing a pitch, so I double and sometimes triple clutched. This threw off my basic rhythm. With those pitchers I waited an extra beat or two, once they turned back, before I threw. That seemed to help a lot. Looking back, it might have helped if I would have told those certain pitchers to wait for the ball before they started prepping for the next pitch.

    My son, 10 years old, was recently cut from a travel team. I asked him how he felt the next day. He tells me that he was upset that he was not given the opportunity to make the adjustment. I told him that now he is with his old team...he has the opportunity to use what happened to him as a motivation to improve and not complain about working hard in practice. He is doing better but I always tell him to remember what happened and what could happen again if he doesn't put in the work. Not just with baseball, but anything in life. I think, even if others don't agree, was a moment of learning that can help him mature in this aspect of baseball and it helped me as a father to learn how to interact with him and encourage him in his journey.

    I would rather see him flat footed and his feet further apart, rather than on his toes when in his campfire stance. He is burning a lot of energy while keeping his balance on his toes. Once he comes out of that stance, he looks great. Great videos ... keep em coming

    I would like to hear if you have any advice on dealing with coaches and teammates about it I’ve known how to throw a baseball my whole life and just had my best season ever my sophomore year but this summer I’ve played travel ball and it’s like I’ve forgotten how to throw the ball I play first base and primarily it’s just throwing it back to the pitcher after a pick off But what my fear is rooted in primarily is I know my teammates make fun of me for it maybe not to my face but I see their expressions I’ve overheard their conversations about me not knowing how to Throw a ball I know my fear is all rooted in not wanting to be embarrassed in front of my friends and not wanting to let down my coaches I’m struggling a lot right now

      Hey Rand, I had the same issues in high school as a 16 year old freshman and still have the same problem 30 years later throwing pitches to my 6 year old son. You're not alone man. One video I just watched said something that might help you out. You have to be ok with failure. Visualize it and understand that failure doesn't define you. You need to not care. He said "baseball isn't who you are, it's just something you do." I hope this helps for you. Good luck and I hope you're back to throwing effortless and accurate lazers soon.

      @@fwagner9 you don’t understand how nervous I am going into this season I did really well my sophomore year and it’s got college coaches looking at me I had a couple ask me if to come to their camps and other coaches have offered me small scholarships but none of them know my new found throwing issue if I don’t fix it soon all interest will be gone and when I throw long toss right now it’s easy but I know that as soon as I start playing with Teamates again it could easily come back because that’s what started it to begin with

    OKD isn't lazy it causes laziness. OKD is used to make up for the lack of talent catching/framing the low ball. Same as the ridiculous exaggeration of "framing" ( which has never been bringing the ball back to the center of the zone). BTW...you did not explain any benefits to the OKD technique at all
