      no, when the hive realizes that part of their harvest is not making it in, they sent out more workers to get more! But you still should only close it a couple of days each week !

    I used to live in Illinois. You couldn't leave a lawn dart in the yard without it going missing the following morning. I moved to Wisconsin and started to see the honor system farm stands. It was out of this world concept to me. Wouldn't it be nice to just live in a world without dirtballs?

    I tell ya that microwave fondant im making is a game changer.. zero waste.. it's inverted sugar so the bees really pop on it like nectar.. doesn't trigger robbing...less weight to haul .. I can feed it in the dead of winter in Michigan bees draw white wax down from it.. helps me get jump start nuc season early by a month. syrup has to much moisture in February... syrup they need to process it sets back smaller units where the fondant they pop on it..

    southeast Ga. very dry June and no rain in October. I had no Drones in July and stopped queen rearing. Some colonies have stores but most of my later splits are light and having a hard time getting weight on them. Feed Bill is getting heavy. 6 gal of syrup emptied out in less than 4 hours yesterday. 80% of my colonies are completely Broodless. The queens are there but they are not laying. Pollen stores are low to none and I have fed over 100 lbs of ultrabee. I did take the opportunity to do OAV treatments again yesterday. Went last night and purchased 4 colonies from a Guy because he is getting out of Bees. low was 68 last night and we have been hitting high 80's. There is nothing out there for food right now. Need some rain so maybe the wild mustard will produce when it starts to bloom . Golden Rod was not a big producer this year. Hopeful I can keep the Bees alive and well until spring.

    • @buttsbeesllc4063
      @buttsbeesllc4063 Месяц назад

      @thomasbroussard3761 I share frames of honey but try never to weaken a strong colony. Dry sugar in a top feeder can keep them happy as long as there is water available, mountain camp method. At the end of my vid I give my method to keep nucs warm so they won't consume resources so fast. Dry pollen out may calm the apiary but we do want brood rearing to slow for that natural brood break. 🙏🏽✌️

    • @buttsbeesllc4063
      @buttsbeesllc4063 Месяц назад

      @ChiChi-u8n 🤨🤨not everyone sees the quandary as a money problem! Selling a fall nuc that may be small is not easy, especially at 200 plus $! Regardless of cost, keepers may have to feed more ! The feed problem remains for the person who may buy his nuc, and with less natural food available, there will be fewer and fewer swarms.

    Had no rain since June. Drones gone by August. Nectar plants frozen. Heat came back. Then 2 nights ago we got an inch and a fraction of rain. It's too late and still dry an inch down and dusty under trees. Creeks all dry. Feeding dry pollen substitute and sugar water for winter survival. Entrances reduced robbing eminent. Colonies extremely small. Worst drought ever. Third summer of drought. Ozarks.

    They are called Intrances because they are an entrance on the inside, in the bee space and the bees can move upwards or downwards from them. We take a super off the top off the brood with clean wax with stores before going into the winter and put it below the brood box to keep the brood entrances in the brood in the middle. and simply call it a basement box. Its not really an invention because it is simply replicating a hollow tree where bees came from and enter through a rotted out brance hole. Not an entrance at the bottom or top and definitely no mesh floor.

    Science based curve ball for you! If you regulars expose bees to bananas, will bees get and stay agressive or will they be subjected to the effect of "the boy who cried wolf" and be desensitized to their attect pheromone? I see you likely addressed this with the 20 additional coumpounds found in attack pheromone. Very cool i didnt know that! I have been near the bees with coffee, various alcoholic beverages, various smokes, before or after laborous work... if they are fiesty its generally due to a dearth or opperator error from what i have seen

      @@buttsbeesllc4063 maybe it’s necessary although I know that’s a point of contention. It’s necessary for me, unfortunately! One problem is that the United States and world in general is HUGE. So you have to figure out a lot on your own since going online will be a mixed bag of many different geographical areas and flora. For instance, most youtube beekeepers rarely bring up that fact and just preach their gospel. It’s been trial and error for me. Even 20 miles west is a different beast for raising bees. The geography is completely different, and everything is rocky with way less plants and less rain! And it’s a couple degrees cooler, which could mean a week or two difference in blooming. Which if you manage monthly can mean you lost a month if you didn’t feed on the west side because the east side is just fine lol

      @@buttsbeesllc4063 you would be a great teacher here.. and the channel will grow as it should. We recognize knowledge and snakes oil talk. It really makes me angry when I see who gets the subs there. Naa, it's not good for health to get too much angry. ☮ sister. Tomorrow a dose of bees and venom will solve everything ✌

    Hard to watch. The dramatic breathing and worrying tone about the "girls" is very accepted in beekeeping today. I swear they teach it. I'm here thinking "Uh, don't worry about beetles, you have NO BEES!" It looks like they left in a hurry. Possibly a treatment made them abscond.

      Yeah, I was struck by how the concern was not about no bees and no queen but over the beetle !😬 I don't think she treated .....yet.

      There's no way a YT video like that one could exist over here. The so called heaters will come out grinding her out explaining everything in a very harsh way.. I'm being nice here.. she will be grinded, chewed up and spewed out never to be seen again... all the wrongs would be explained and she would be sent to buy honey. If you count this ones like country average loses no wonder you have such a big average loses. This isn't even hobby.. it's something like I'll a MODERN RUclipsr

      You Americans keep me calm from the YT over here and the stuff we write to ich other. But our practice is objective and sincere and we don't allow fake people in or newbies to teach us. They have no chance... and we move much faster with our knowledge. It's a shame that we don't have the people numbers you have.. only too many hives per the population. Always making problems to ich other with the space we lack per hive

      She is not added to our losses, that is usually commercial and sideliners 😜 She is one of many with a very high follower count that shows their journey but it often serves as lessons in beekeeping because she may be relatable.😬 I try not to be mean because you get more out of nice than being rough. But in private I say smoe things that YT would ban me for 😬😜😂
