@@codykennedy19 Thanks for watching. I sold the bus a while ago now and unfortunately no longer own it. I wish I had taken more videos prior to sale. I do plan in the future of purchasing another bus with an 8V92 or 6V92 and will certainly take videos. I have a better quality phone now than I did in 2017 when this was recorded. So when I do film again, it will be better!

Gregory Steven they still got 4 in Troy. They retired them a week ago. The 3100s are retired too

Cornell strickland I was out of Albany Division for 6.5 years. Love when we got them in Albany. Sad to see them go I wonder why they only kept them 13 years.

Gregory Steven I think it’s something with the new law. They can only keep buses for 12 years . We up to 4206 now

Cornell strickland I don’t think there is a law on how long you keep it for a maximum. There’s a law that you must keep it a minimum but there is no maximum.

It is turbo charged. It does not have a roots blower. The last engines we had with roots blower were the Detroit Diesel 2 strokes. They had a roots blower and turbo charger. These Cummins ISL’s just have turbos.

The "roots blower" you may have seen is the Delco Remy alternator located at the top of the engine. Was it a 250amp?

Calvin Crews I use to hear this type of engine all the time growing up. Now they are rare. You don’t have to be a bus fan to love the sound of a 2 stroke Detroit Diesel engine.

I have never done a bus conversion but will be looking do do so within the next few years if and when I get the time. The best buses for conversion I would say are used highway coaches. A cheaper alternative would be an older high floor transit bus. With a highway coach you have the luggage bays underneath to use for plumbing and electrical. A high floor transit, you have some room underneath but not as much as you would in a highway coach. A low floor transit such as the one in this video has a low floor in the front, and a high floor in the back so there is not much room for plumbing or additional electrical. It can be done but it's very tricky and things will be tight. A highway coach typically will have a tag axle behind the rear drive axle which will give you a slightly smoother ride and better weight distribution, but all in all in my opinion you don't need that tag axle unless you plan on towing a car with your conversion. Go for an MCI models. The model 9 and newer and DD engin
