Hi I'm J & this channel is about exploring parts of London that most visitors don't normally see.
I have lived here for over 20 years and explored most of it by bike, so why not show people what those normal parts of London are really like.
To kick off I will be revisiting the places I've lived to see what I can remember and what they look like now, will they have they changed much ? I will take you on a journey of where I lived, worked and sometimes played to give you the benefit of a local point of view.
When the story ends I will be simply picking different neighbourhoods to explore and get lost in to see what they are all about.
So If you have any ideas where to go, feel free to suggest them & I will add them to the list
Remember this is Scuzzy London, none of the big stuff like Big Ben & Trafalgar Square, you can see that anywhere. We want to go to the mean streets & back alleys of the real London.

Swansea Part 4
This week I delve into the history of one of Swansea most well known music pubs from days gone by. I then explore the Marina area and one of it’s most famous sons Dylan Thomas. We check out the other side of the Marina and take a look at the Marina Barrage which now keeps the water level consistent on the river Tawe which enters the sea here. We take a quick look through the town centre and the famous market before discovering a few more classic shops from the area.
Later I pass by my old flat where I had with a great views of the sea and pass an old rehearsal studio in a most unusual place, with stories of yet another well known character who owned it. Dylan Thomas’ birthpla...

We follow the river Tawe valley And explore it’s rich industrial history including the site of an old Addis factory where my father worked for a while then dive deep into the story of the huge Copper industry That really put Swansea on the map....

Swansea Part 2 In part 2 of this weeks Scuzzy Escape I return to some of the places where my time playing in rock bands all started. I go back to the very first place I played in a band with other people and remember some of the great experiences it gave me, as well as a re-visit my old comprehensive school and find some disturbing content On a council estate nearby. Swansea Part 1 This week I'm back on home turf, exploring my old back yard, revisiting places I used to know like the back of my hand. Now a lot has changed but plenty still remains exactly as it was. We start off with a bit of fun at the station, roll through the town centre, passed the prison and onto the seafront. We take a ride on a beautiful sunny day along the promenade towards Mumbles pa...

The Ridiculous World of DIY Castles and Homemade Cars

They like they're classic and unusual vehicles round here. This week I cross the M25 motorway in search of another small town near big old London. It turns out to be a lot more interesting than I thought it would be. There seems to be a lot of unusual cars around the place even we even come across a Chevrolet Pick up at one point. There's a really nice bit of Parkland with some unusual artwork ...

How’s the ole geezer on the bike 👀🤣
Just a wee correction, that spot on the Strand that you believed was the site of the Cardiff Arms was in fact the site of the old George Bros warehouse which was only recently demolished! The site of the Cardiff Arms is now the back area of the redeveloped stone warehouse that has Base Kamp Coffee at the bottom. Thanks for the video! Good to see Swansea
Thanks, i must admit there was a little doubt as i was doing that bit. Well spotted
Swansea Castle, seems like a great spot for some band promo shots I reckon 🤔. Another great vid J, keep em coming 🤘
Hmm yes now there’s an idea 😆
Just googled Addis, fascinating history, and the origins of the toothbrush. My mum had the Addis full kitchen ware set in the 70s, bright orange as I remember. Another great video
Yep, they were everywhere. Back when we used to make things in this country. Thanks
Coffin against the wall 😂 only in Wales
I know right 🤣
I was in Cry Innocence on the gig poster. Nice one JJ.
Ha excellent, amazing that i found a copy of it
I'm pretty sure I made the posters too. With some extra help with the "colouring in".
Some great memories in there J! 🎸🥁 🎤🍻
Not kidding, like a brown mini full of drums 😄
Some lovely little moments there up your old manor pal. Very touching stuff. Great vid 👊
Loving your Swansea videos…great to hear your stories as you tackle the hills and the mist of Penlan.
Glad you enjoyed it
Really interesting
Thank you
Lucky guy!
Sorry to see that.
No worries just a few battle scars
Looks like a great series if this episode anything to go by
I hope you enjoy this introduction to Swansea video, I get more in depth in the next one with more history and new discoveries. I'd be interested to know your thoughts on the place I grew up in and have great emotional connections with. Enjoy J
I remember 😂
I thought you might :)
Haha not for much longer bro
Yeah good point
Interesting video, you mentionned Pymmes park library which is a Bike library belonging to London Cycling Club They are organising bycicle session in Pymmes Park and also Oakwood Park. My child had session with the instructors now he is confident at cycling
Yes it was an interesting little find there, nice park too. I might know one of the instructors. Thanks for watching
Thats what I do with my camera.. explore. I live in Essex and work in London. I should bring my bike up more often. You should check out Welwyn Garden City. Not too far outside London. Beautiful area with a massive railway viaduct. Interesting video. Keep at it.
Great idea thanks, I’ll put it on the list 👍🏼
Great explore, and love the car spotting too !
Gary Holton also lived in Maida Vale ( Auf Weidersehen Pet )

Eva zu Beck is a good example of a successful youtuber that does travelogue type stuff, I know she uses an editor, shes an extremely professional though, to the extent she can seem inauthentic....
Funny you say that i finally watched one of hers after YT pushing them to me for ages, shes an inspiration allright
Edgy indeed!
Yes it kinda was at times
Another great video
Glad you enjoyed it
More white than anywhere South London. The Alms houses were great, sadly we need them more than ever.
You are a fit man to keep riding and and talking .
You're brave mate .

Brave man Cycling through Queens crescent! Great video I live on KT Road loved learning a little bit of history about my neighbourhood
Having lived on Grafton road QC was my regular shopping street, i used to avoid the estate though and never at night. Glad you enjoyed it, makes it worth the effort. Thanks
@@ScuzzyLondon Yea I was referring to the estate part really. My Ex used to live in Luham, seen a few interesting things there! Keep up the good work!
I really like this type of content. Stay safe, buddy.
Thanks a lot, I appreciate your comment
Wow, those were some close calls, you almost died! Or just traffic meeting each other on a narrow road and passing each other.
Totally Rumbled 😂
Recommend trying St.Neots, going east or west from there.
Yes yes that’s very do able
I'm not a cyclist, i ride motorbikes. But I do enjoy bloody good content and I'm glad this popped up on my recommended. Keep it up!
Ha excellent. I wont say im an ex motorcyclist, i just dont have one right now there’s just something about two wheels ! Glad you like it. More to come

The “best Car” is 1946-1971 Volkswagen Beetle, first gen Corolla, Model T, Citroen 2CV, Tatra T series and the Prius.
Prius ?
At least the roads look swept .
Warrington crescent. Very lucky to have spent the first 20 years of my life living on that road. Didn't know it at the time though.
I hear you, sometimes you just don't realise what you've got until it's gone eh !
On the pavement rider.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
might as well take full advantage I say
So are they still recording at Abbey Rd studios? Any big names?
Yes very much so, people like Noel Gallagher and Sam Smith among many have recorded there
