Form follows function. An interview done correctly and with insight. You all just set a standard that many should follow. You allowed your guest to educate the audience on his company and his service, you listened then engaged. The interview surpassed the basics and extended into areas of true solutions to challenges whether for lighting or for pick a subject. Highly recommended for anyone that works with others to watch. Again well done and thank you for posting.👍

Wow. A lot to unpack here. So much is changing so quickly when it comes to Directly Controlled Luminaires in Emergency Systems. At full on data loss is indeed the new hotness, but you need to make sure your infrastructure is designed to ensure that you will indeed lose data under both emergency and power loss situations, and your designated emergency directly controlled luminaires have a stable source of normal/emergency power. Also it is good to remember the difference between zero and data loss. If you have a console outputting sACN for example to a gateway that is outputing DMX512 to the fixtures, when you turn off your console, your fixtures don't lose data. Same thing can happen with a power loss. Especially if your gateway is Powered via PoE and there is a UPS in the network infrastructure. All solvable things, but something you absolutely want to make sure you plan for BEFORE your inspector arrives. I have seen these small issues prevent a building from getting a Certificate of Occupancy and then it becomes a big deal very quickly.

Really Outstanding Podcast. I had not heard the other 4 versions and I will find them and listen. Having been in Lighting Controls for...ever...It was nice to hear people sharing challenges and solutions that the veterans are all aware of. Eventually the correct procedures and process might become common place, and customers will start to evolve in the understanding that doing correctly isn't free. Thanks
