So If I had to guess I would say that the characters we're seeing are the backups of the ones from the original series. The reason why Micheal and Rob's memories don't align is because they were backed up at two different points in time. Michael was before the final episode of Act 2 and Rob before the Citadel. Would be interesting to see.

This episode, follow Michael as he fears sodomy* and gets a lobotomy**! *probably more like “fears internal medical exam without proper protocols” but still **whatever Tyler did to make his head hurt But for real, personally the scariest part wasn’t the glitch when Tyler got rid of Rob or… did whatever it was to Michael/the game, it was immediately afterwards where Rob? was telling him “it doesn’t hurt forever” and his face is there, like it wasn’t an official reboot because the only text was from him, it’s eerie but it also feels like he understands Michael’s pain on some level and is trying to comfort him- then Michael waking up disoriented and in immense pain, clutching his head, why does his head hurt, where is he, where did everyone go, and then he just has to move on and find some of the others so he can progress in this fairly linear game. Just like the beginning where he teleports into CSGO after 1-2 weeks, and when Rob asks if he remembers his childhood, he has to move past something deeply unsettling to keep going and survive. I’m catching up with the series, but here’s some other stuff I noticed/thoughts: -the text that subtitles what everyone is saying, is that something Michael can see/experience(?) or part of the experimental part of the game, because obviously Michael doesn’t have subtitles for himself, and they seem to reflect some of his thoughts (when he doesn’t understand someone, disliking Tyler). They don’t show up for the non-aware NPCs, or when something game-breaking is going on. -similarly, can only Michael hear the original game music stings? This gets brought up in earlier parts, but I think it would be cool if Michael could hear the music added in post but didn’t think much of it, like it’s not an indicator from the game itself but it suits whatever’s happening (from his perspective) -why did that one cactus have very distinct text and voice. who is this very important character -poor Michael is already going through it and now his remaining composure is deteriorating rapidly, like faster than before, but him also freaking out over the magnetic wooden plank is funny -same with the elevator tantrum lol -how does Rob remember his own baby shower? -falling cars as a running joke is really good -if you’ve read this far I wanted to say thank you all again for putting so much effort into this series, it’s really paid off and I hope you enjoy working on it as much as I enjoy overanalyzing it

HEy ALex big fan of this series, It’s giving me such a hit of nostalgia seeing this game again, Maybe that Pinkish purplish character is where they were originally going to put G-Man in and they made it that specific colour so they would know that is the model to replace with the G-Man, And maybe it said Alex because it’s placeholder text and Alyx was meant to be with Gordon in that segment originally, Big fan of this Let’s Play hope you make more man :D

When this series is finished I want people to make analysis videos on it, Pointing out all the hidden details and shedding light on why things might be happening the way they are
