He carried on... so for breaking into houses police could do nothing without proof... Paramilitaries took care of him. He had a choice. And he made it. I think Northern ireland's problems aren't unique. In Manchester we have no-go areas where the police drive through at speed in riot van's afraid to get out. Most people avoid places like Moss Side. Every city I've visited seems to have a sub-culture, where crime goes largely unpunished and where the criminals are only ever caught when they venture to wealthier(although that's debatable!) areas.

It feels that nothing has changed since the 1970's. I feel so sorry for all NI citizens.
