In first century Christianity, if you wanted to eat, you worked with your hands, unless you were a blind widow or a crippled orphan or something. When a Sunday collection was taken up it was *FOR THE POOR* not the pastor. As for tax-exempt status, that's the government bribing churches to not play John the Baptist and stand outside Herod's palace criticizing the government. Christ was asked directly whether you should pay your taxes and he said "YES". So "Christ"-ians should probably listen. In fact the only recorded instance of money changing hands around Jesus was when he pulled a coin out of a fish's mouth so Peter could pay HIS taxes. (Unless you count him overthrowing the moneychangers' tables in the Temple). Sooooo...NO.

I agree with your statements on this topic. I am a photographer myself. I remember first starting out and talking with specific photographers in the past, they would say “oh you’re a photographer? Yeah, so is everyone with a camera these days.” At first I took offense to that, but I didn’t let that derail my journey. Having an eye is key, and depending on what type of photography you’re into, having a true understanding about art, storytelling, light, the human ethos, etc. etc is very important. The eye needs a specific focus. I don’t mean so you have sharp pictures either, you need to be focused on life’s little specific moments.

And they must be too desparate because now they are blaming Ukraine. Kicks of a drowned, as we say in my place.

Ich finde es so absurd wie ein Russe die USA als verrückt bezeichnet nach butscha, nach den Forderungen Ostdeutschland, Polen und das Baltikum auch noch zu "befreien", nach der Verschleppung ukrainischer Kinder und dem absichtlichen opfern von russischen Reservisten um einen idologisch verblendeten Krieg zu führen der nur dazu dient die Oligarchen und Putin selbst in ihrer Macht zu festigen. Ich finde es absurd dem russischen Volk kaum genug Geld zu geben, egal ob in Unternehmensgründung, Krankenversorgung, Altersversorgung, Bildung oder auch nur vernünftige Infrastruktur, aber dann 300mrd€ pro Jahr für einen Krieg gegen ein "Brudervolk" ausgibt bei dem man zu 60-80% nur die Zivilbevölkerung attackiert. Ich finde es ignorant das Russen all dir Lügen glauben weil sie Angst vor Polizeigewalt haben! Die Russen werden in diesem Krieg einen viel höheren Preis bezahlen als wenn sie auf die Straße gehen und NEIN sagen! In 2-3 Monaten spätestens kommt die Generalnobilmachung. Alles wird derzeit dafür vorbereitet und dann verlieren Millionen Russen ihr Leben!

Two suggestions, though. 1) By now, it seems like it is rather the Hand Of Marx that the new generation of American people has chosen to cling on to. 2) Fiction is important. This is why they are banning Orwell & Rowling, & rewriting Dahl & Flemming. We learn much from great fiction, be it Plato or Shakespeare, King or Tolkien, Tartt or Hustvedt. Lem or Dick. Bulgakov or Asimov. Great novels or Fairy Tales of old. Religious texts with unknown roots & futurological experiments with warnings to consider alike.
