I have found that there are way too few videos of cute guinea pigs on RUclips. With this new channel I will try to fix that. The pigs in the videos are my own pets.

Johan and Knapre's second meeting
I filmed the second meeting between my new guinea pig Johan and my sow Knapre. Watch to see their interactions. Johan is a neutered boar and Knapre is neutered too. No music, so that you get to hear the pig’s own sounds.
The third meeting between Knapre and Johan ended in a fight that I wrote about here: ruclips.net/user/postUgkxeeR0bGto3udXzdBD75vbaX00ndY53xxt?si=5qX8NzYsp6xyfR4W. Then I had to rethink my strategy.

This took place before the two last videos about making the pigs one herd. Our new boar Johan was neutered and had healed after the surgery, but it was not yet safe for him to meet with the fertile girls. Therefore he had his own area where he stayed with our neutered sow Laika.

How long to make a video like this? Do you have special equipment for recording, other than a phone? I just use a phone and cheap mic but find that I end up discarding most of the footage before transferring the best bits to a computer for editing. And it's editing and then creating and synchronising the voiceovers which takes the most time for me. I guess you have more experience than I do, as I only started last Sept. But this whole thing has taken over my life now! I do find it quite rewarding though, and wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it. Sorry for all the questions, but as well as getting to know your piggies I'd also love to know a little bit about their owners/carers.

I'm guessing it must be too cold for them outside in winter where you live? How far north are you? I figured from watching the pigcation video yesterday that you were most likely somewhere in the middle of Sweden. I find the wooden piggy furniture you have quite attractive. Is most of that homemade?
I note similar behaviour to this all the time. No matter how well you prepare they never seem to want to follow the script. And grabbing a piece of food and running off with it is standard practice if there are others around!

Do you mind me asking which part of the world piglypaws is from? It was the unusual names which piqued my curiosity, otherwise i wouldn't have asked. I'm in North Devon, UK, which I guess you already know? If you prefer not to answer that, then fair enough!
@@PigCorner I don’t mind at all! 😊 Me and the pigs live in Sweden. I do understand that my pigs names sounds peculiar for people from other countries. 😊
@piglypaws Goteborg was where I joined my very first ship in my seafaring days. Nowadays I only visit Sweden in my flight simulator - Landvetter, Arlanda and Sturup. I didn't mean peculiar exactly, just unusual. I figured it was unlikely to be UK, but couldn't work out where!

@piglypaws my excuse for that is that phone was in use out in the shed, recording the piggies again. So I just grabbed the nearest iPad without thinking!

This is a precious video! You filmed them so well! Knapre is a tough girl! Knapre must be the original leader in the herd? Laika complained about the tension between Knapre and Johan in the end--so cute and subtle! Thank you for this very wonderful documentary video!🙏🙏🙏
@@MultipleBrains Thank you so much for kind words! We’ve seen Mango as the top pig for a long time now. She gets what she wants in a calm non-violent way. She just exudes so much confidence and top-pigness. I believe Knapre’s aggression might come from fear. It’s super interesting to watch them and try to understand their behavior! Of course I’m not sure that I have interpreted it correctly. I’m no expert in piggy behavior.
Guinea pig bonding takes time and patience just needs some space and get know each other thats how naturally works
@@GuineaConnorClayton1445 After this video was filmed I believed that we were on the right track, but the next meeting between Knapre and Johan did not end well 🙁 They got into a fight and Knapre got hurt. Well that’s water under the bridge now.
My goodness, poor little guy, I feel bad for him 😥. Johan had to get accepted by the most reluctant Miss Knapre. When she eats, most of the time, I have the impression that she takes out her anger on the food. Especially at the end, when Johan has taken refuge behind Laïka, we can see that Knapre is watching him out of the corner of her eye. It was difficult for Knapre, of course, but it was even harder for your little guy, and I imagine how distressing these moments were for you! Fortunately, Knapre finally let herself be seduced by Johan. He is so handsome, sweet and kind that he is irresistible 😅💖

@piglypaws You're right, just thinking about Bob gives me chills! I forgot to mention that it was the 1990 version that I watched, and only this one; it doesn't make me feel any younger 😅. It's so old that I forgot a lot of things...
@sylviegay75 I watched both! I don’t think the newer series makes any sense otherwise. It’s the old one i love, but I enjoyed the new weirder one too.

I love how Johan and Laïka feel confident with each other; it's obvious that they bring a lot to each other 💕. Mango and Knapre's curiosity is funny to watch 😄. Johan is very lucky to have been chosen and welcomed into your lovely family. You had thought of every detail so that this transition period would go as well as possible for all your little loves, and now they are all reunited and living happily together and in freedom 🥰. Your love and dedication to making them so happy commands respect and admiration 😊🩷
