3 Ways to INSTANTLY level up your LEGATO
chapman m l 3 pro trd. needed a string retainer to keep all the strings at the same pressure over the nut to stay in tune
Thats a lovely pedal!!
Good job friend 🧡
@@jazzbanga2045 thank you 🎸
@ade sulisto
I hear a difference. I was considering removing the neck pickup from my Tele to "Esquire" it, but I think instead it would be better to have a separate dedicated one pickup Tele and accent a different tone palette compared to my two pickup Tele by using steel saddles and/or a hotter pickup.
great sound. somethings outta tune somewhere though
There is a difference between
very clear presentation, in terms of instrument transparence, dynamic and space dimensions how do you consider those serie by Fender compared to the JHS 3 serie (reverb, delay) ?
that is a killer sound for sure
On paper it seems to be almost identical with Super Swede. I wonder what are the main differences besides the body shape because the guitar prices are not in same range.
Hi, can I ask a doubt a have. I recently bought a viking tremar and when it is in the middle position (both pickups), should I be able to control the volume independently?, whatever volume knob I turn, it affects boths pickups (as an identical global function). Is it like this? Thanks a lot!!!
Are you Yorkshire?
@@raysparks3161 I was born in Wakefield but moved very young
I love my ultra swede , the playability and tone is killer !!!
This is amazing!
@@myriad860 thank you 🙌🎸
I recently had a set of these installed in a Michael Kelly 53DB (awesome T style guitar) and they sound incredible! I have push pulls for coil splitting and with the 3 way switch you can get quite a variety of tones. I just got a Schecter PT Fastback IIB and I’ll probably drop a set in it as well.
What a fantastic video! Subscribed 😀👍🏻
@@petermartin1967 thank you 🎸
Incredible playing, tones, music and videography! Nice work!
@@Aleksisguitar thank you 🙌🎸
I think the red sounds the best, then white, followed by black.. amazing guitars.. im going to buy one.. your video settled it for me
Thanks for the comparison. You didn't mention the aesthetic difference of the pickguards, which unfortunately for the swede looks a little like a ball sack. I'd be swapping that out straight away. But serious question: Do you know if the swede and super swede limited tiger bursts have any other different to their respective models other than the finish? Cheers
I'm currently playing on my father's 74 swede and love it. I'm looking to get one of my own when he wants this one back. Do they still make a model or version with the double pickup switch option? Or is that how push/pull knobs work and is that a feature they offer? Do they send you guitars to highlight on your channel? & Do you know if they still make a handmade version in Sweden?
I heard a big difference, you could hear the dynamics jumping around with the neck pick up ,I’m sure it would be worse if it was hooked up , beautiful guitar .
Played the Teal version at Andertons today. £749 or the Metallic Gold at £599 under serious consideration up against the Fender Player Plus.
Wow. Brutal honesty. I hadn't watched bc usually people swear they hear things that I don't. (Especially on things that spent more $$ on, lol) I apologize! I do hear a slightly brighter or more open sound with 1 PU, especially in dirty tones. Great job.
I think that in your hands, even the cheapest Walmart guitar would sound great!
Can you tell me if it takes a battery?
Looking at one of these beauties, but can't decide between the 62 japanese reissue or a 52 usa tele . Any advice? Both are great guitars, the 62 is way less expensive. Great playing incidentally
Thanks for the review. Great playing. Contemplating this or the ML3 Pro Traditional roasted neck and reverse headstock as something to contrast with current Les Paul. Think maybe the P90 offers more of a contrast to the humbuckers.
I’ve got both. Very different feeling and sounding. The P90 model has a much thinner neck and skinny high frets vs fat neck and big jumbo frets. Sound wise, the Pro Trad Hot Tele pickups are great sounding, bright and biting and take distortion well too. Less keen on the P90 and the 4th position sounds kinda muffled to me. Being hollow it also feed back more. On the black model in the video, the side dots and fretboard markers are so close to the colour of the neck they kinda blend in and make it hard to see them. On the pro trad they are glow in the dark side dots and much more visible all the time
Thanks for the review and demo. Just a suggestion, maybe zoom out a touch so we can see the switch to know which pickups you're using. And have you done anything to that rosewood fret board? it looks a bit darker. Thanks.
This a mayer Sig?
@@colinparks619 thanks man, it’s a Fender JV Strat from 1983 🎸

Hi. I own a viking tremar but I need a haedcase. Have you tested any? Which one do you recomend?, I’m afraid the bigsby makes too pressure. Thanks!
Bought this guitar, but returned it. Couldn’t live with the neck dive. Otherwise a killer guitar. That Hot Tele middle tone is the best middle I’ve heard in any guitar.
Nice 🔥🔥, Where can i find the backing track?
Do they really sustain more as claimed by Hagstrom? Also, any neck dive on the long scale? Thanks for any feedback.
Amazing playing James...love the old school sound from old school guitar and amp... I'm old school from way back...
Beautiful guitars, but most importantly a w e s o m e playing!
Thank you 🙌🎸
Man! it is not alder! (alder have pretty fine finish) Looks like ash to me - grains are big and deep
thanks for the video, really informative, how does the neck feel like? how big are the frets? thank you
Amazing range of sound
this is great, how did you get the sustain sound to it? thank you!
Didn’t know Pedro Pascal can shred
Great demo, that lsl sounds awesome! What kind of set up are you using? Fab tones ! ( yeh , Fab ) btw , an anodized gold scratch plate would look the mutts !
Where is the guitar made? Appreciate your input 👌 Much blessings 🙌 Great channel. Ty
Thank you, to my knowledge all Hagstroms are made in china at the moment
@jamesfranklandguitar Ty for your response. Honestly the question is the quality control any good ..?
@@ppg19782two weeks ago i bought a super swede at a local dealer. He had nice color choices and i played both swede and super swede. The quality is excellent! Yes, made in China. But its 100% no Crap, its build supervised by Hagstrom - not as "OEM" white label guitars produced by Cor-Tek and sold as PRS SE, Ibanez or Shecters, ...
@@ppg19782Ghost are using mostly Hagstroms for all of their huge stadium tours and they are playing off the shelf guitars, so that seems to be a good sign
I own two Fender Esquires and two Fender Telecasters. I love all four of them. Oh and one 1957 Gibson Les Paul Junior 😅 and Tweed and Blackface amplifiers all are needed 😎
Goingto put these in an Epi 60s SG. It's really nice thing to.play but I can't get any nice sounds out of it, not compared to my Gretsch (with Filtertrons).
Hey man, these aren’t the same size as p90s if it’s a SG special you’re dropping them into. They do make them in humbucker size if it’s a standard SG though 🎸hope this helps
Is the reverb only coming from this unit? My unit doesn't sound this nice at all, although he is using much better amps than me.
Hey man, yeah all the reverb is from the pedal 🎸
Hey, may I ask whether this guitar and its pickups are also good for downtuned metal? I'm looking for a secondary 6 string for songs in C-standard, mostly doomy or death metal, since I usually play 7 strings, and I wanted to try something new
I’d probably recommend the super Swede over this as it has the longer scale length so would be potentially better suited to drop tunings, the bridge pickup is also higher output there too 🎸
For doom and stoner metal the short scale length of the Swede is ideal. The looser string tension enhances the heavy, droning sound typical of these genres. Many doom bands favor Gibson guitars for their shorter scale length. On the other hand, for death metal, a longer scale length is preferable. The Super Swede guitar, with its extended scale, would be a better fit for this genre.
Tabs?
Great review of the differences between these two models. I've been playing Hagstrom guitars & basses since the mid-70's and always found them to be of high quality at reasonable prices. The Swede is my preference... it fills the niche of a single cutaway LP style guitar while costing less and offering a better guitar imho. I'd suggest a Hagstrom Swede to anyone looking to buy an Epiphone or Gibson Les Paul. I'm going to go watch your more in depth reviews of these guitars now. Cheers.
So it’s a Gibson copy then!
Similar yes, but not priced just for the name on the headstock.
