i love it!!
Thanks a lot!
UPDATE: I was able to fix the cymbal canceling issue. Once I recorded a performance and the cymbals wouldn't even sound during playback I knew something had to be an issue on my end. I had 'AFTER TOUCH' turned on in the velocity curve sub menu. Once I turned that off the cymbals played back just as tracked and they perform perfectly without any issues. So I would encourage leaving that toggle OFF if you're an E-Kit player. Okay first off, this kit is amazing. I'm an E-Kit player/performer and have been strictly using GGD kits. This is a breathe of fresh sounds that I'm loving so much. However, I've run into some unfavorable things that I'd like to mention. I'll start with crash and china cymbals. (I'm on a Roland TD27 btw...) I typically map a crash and china cymbal with two trigger notes. One for the bow and one for the shoulder/edge. So that way no matter how or where I hit the pad you get a sound. I've tried different combinations between single note assignments and locations, but the issue is when I ride on that cymbal with anything faster than 1/4 notes, the sample cuts itself off. So I only hear the first half of a crash until my stick makes contact again which seems to cancel out and kill the crash sample. Then when I strike the pad again the crash starts, next hit kills (repeats). I'm sure I can proceed tracking my performance and fix it post playing, but it does sound weird and off-putting when trying to get in the zone while tracking. My second (small) gripe is the snare. Which don't get me wrong, they all sound UNBELIEVABLE! However, the rimshot is so much more overpowering than the center head I wish I could have a velocity curve for each individually. It's most noticeable when I'm doing a 16th or 32nd build on the center head and I have to hit it so hard to stand out which leads to striking the rimshot. I love playing with rimshots as accents in between snare center work but the rimshot is just so overpowering. I played around with the snare trigger samples and assigning them only to the snare center and playing with the fader, but couldn't achieve a realistic sound to match the performance. The great stuff... the hats sound amazing and perform great. I can sometimes hear when the sample transfers from CC to assigned bow and edge (for the heavier pedal pushing) but it's only slightly. And the hats don't cut themselves off no matter how fast I strike the pad. Anything with a shell has such a rich and powerful tone that I'm truly in love with it. The quality is just so great and it makes me smile when I play. Not sure how many other people out there strictly use these type of VSTs for E-Kits but I imagine quite a few. So please let me (us) know if there is a workaround for the cymbal sample canceling or how to boost only the snare center. Great work, it's obvious a ton of love went into this kit and I will definitely continue to use it, I would just like to not have to fix those issues in post. Thanks!
Hey! Glad you were able to get the cymbal issue worked out. As for the rimshots being louder, you might be able to control some of that in Page 1 and 2 of the Settings page. We included TRIM functions for all of the hits and built-in one-shot samples. So maybe try adjusting some of these so that the rimshot is a bit more equal to your liking. Keep me posted, and thanks for much for the e-kit feedback. We're always trying to find ways we can improve e-kit functionality as we move forward with other projects. So it's very helpful.
@@rsdrumsofficial Thanks for the reply! I just completed a track using the Monarch kit and it sounds so dope. I took a bunch of time inside the UI and found all of the little nooks and quirks to build the kit to my taste for the song. I love all of the features y'all built into this kit. It seriously takes off so much time individually routing to independent tracks in Logic. I also purchased the Fairview kit along with Monarch but haven't opened it up yet to play with it. Hoping it has the same functional tweaking available. For the snare, I did discover the trim within the sub menus and one-shots and played around with it. But the thing is, I really like the intensity of how the rim shot sounds and didn't want to sacrifice its punch it was delivering. So I ended up just routing only the snare to its own channel and ran it through some multi channel compressors and was able to bring everything forward how I like. Then bussing everything to a compressor for the glue and, got to say, this is my new go to kit for a long time for future tracks. Question: Inside of the GGD libraries there are fidelity options to select (High, Mid, and Low CPU) options. I understand why they do this and it makes sense for helping people not crash their DAWs depending on the project. However, I always want the highest sample rate possible. I don't see an option like that within Monarch and just want to make sure I'm getting the highest quality I can. I understand that it might only help with longer sustains but am just curious if Monarch is at its highest quality right out of the box. Sure sounds like it is! Again, excellent work on this kit.
Oh, and what is Aftertouch? Where does that being turned on serve a purpose? Thanks!
Is there any way to use these amazing drum loops on an ipad by any chance?
These grooves are only for this demo, but Monarch does come with it's own unique groove pack of 100+ grooves and fills.
sounds amazing!
Thank you!
Do these midi files playing right now come with the drums!?
These grooves do not, but Monarch comes with it's own unique groove pack of 100+ grooves and fills. We also send out free grooves monthly if you're signed up for our email list, and these grooves may be part of one of those emails coming up.
@rsdrumsofficial oooh hell yeah, I’ll be coping "The Monarch Kit" Black Friday, the snares are incredible with this one, definitely will be signing up as well, free midi packs !? I live for that since I’m a guitar player, appreciate the feedback.
@@ashthereverseflash Awesome! Yea, we send out a few MIDI files every month to email subscribers, and these will work with both Monarch's and Fairview's groove player. Just need to install like any other MIDI groove pack.
is this a standalone vst? or does it need something like kontakt. And, are there grooves included?
You'll need Kontakt Player (free) for Monarch. And yes, Monarch does include it's own unique groove pack with 100+ grooves/fills.
Sweet, Did I see an aftertouch switch there in the screenshots?... I cant wait to see the Ekit set up / playthrough tests.
Yes! We added aftertouch. I'll be releasing a video soon about setting up Monarch with an E-Kit.
@@rsdrumsofficial amazing - thanks for listening to your users!
@@Emm_R_Guitar Absolutely! We're always looking for ways to provide updates as needed. So all of the feedback is super helpful.
Hi, I have just bough Monarch drums - where do I find the tab showing the Monarch drums tab in the library content browser in Kontakt - I have Kontakt 7 I believe. I have all the individual kits but not sure how to set it so I can see the tab in the library please??
I don't seem to have the NKI. file so I can add the tab to the browser then load individual kits to the tab. Update, I saw the notes on your website about adding the serial number in NI and think it is going ok now.
@@WrongSideOf50Drummer-hj9ol Apologies for the delay in response. Yes, you'll need to install Monarch through Native Access first, using the serial license that was emailed to you after purchase. This will get everything working properly in Kontakt. Keep me posted if you have any other questions.
@@rsdrumsofficial Thanks I realised that in the end after reading the notes. I am just going through various settings and kits etc. My Roland TD1 module is not the best so I am trying various settings. My biggest problem at the moment is getting a good sound from the closed hi hat, it fine open and I have watched the video about the Fairview kit - I am going to tweak the velocity curves, maybe that might help. Thanks for the earlier reply. Rgds Gary
@@WrongSideOf50Drummer-hj9ol Sounds good! Yea, the hi-hat setup is always the most difficult to get working properly with Kontakt libraries. As long as the CC values are assigned properly first, followed by the pedal hat articulation, should be all good to go.
@@rsdrumsofficial I think it all look ok, but if you feel the need to make a video going indepth I would be most appreciative. Rgds Gary
I hope now that you UPDATE the also AMAZIN Fairview Kit with all the new improvements that have in this new library... And please... Try to keep a cohesion between plugins, and updating the oldest one with the new features and graphics... This would be AWESOME!!! Thanks for this beautiful work... IM COMING FOR YOU MONARCH KIT!!!! Any discount entry code????
Thanks a lot! We definitely plan to work on an update for Fairview to implement a lot of the new features we included in Monarch, mainly with the one-shots section.
@@rsdrumsofficial GREAT NEWS!
Will there be instructions for cubase?)
Not at the moment, but the process for setting up outputs in Kontakt should be the same. Just setting up channels in your DAW to route Kontakt will be different.
@ I managed to figure it out , but I had to make 24 channels.
Can this plugin be used with a Roland EKit and if so could you please do a video showing the set up in Ableton Live if at all possible please? At the moment I use Krimh drum but the snare on your standard kit sounds amazing.
E-Kit video coming soon! I go through setting up Monarch with my E-kit (Roland TD 27 Module) in Pro Tools, but the process should be very similar regardless of DAW. Should hopefully have it out this coming weekend or early next week.
@@rsdrumsofficial I have the very basic TD1 with the TD-1Kv but I am hoping to upgrade to the TD27KV2 very soon so I will look forward to seeing the new video. Thanks for the prompt reply and good luck with your product.
@@WrongSideOf50Drummer-hj9ol Awesome! Yea, the process should be very similar regardless of module and/or DAW. Most of the work to assign is inside of Monarch's settings page, which I cover in the video and go through the process of assigning all cymbals and drums.
@@rsdrumsofficial I saw the other video about linking with a Roland module and it all looks straight forward, thanks again for the prompt reply.
@@WrongSideOf50Drummer-hj9ol Awesome! Yea, the process is exactly the same with Monarch, including the hi-hats.
That snare sounds amazing!
Thank you! There's 10 snare options total in Monarch. \m/
@@rsdrumsofficial That's good to know - I do love the default kit snare though, just the sound I am after. Reminiscent of The Cult and also Billy Idol's - Rebel Yell - recorded live in Chicago 2009.
@@WrongSideOf50Drummer-hj9ol Glad to hear it! Thanks for the kind words.
I have to grab this one 😵 Sounds aaawwesome
Grabbed the kit yesterday upon release. So far, it’s awesome. The one shots for toms were an awesome addition! Also being able to have rimshot flams with adjustable speed?! Hell yeah. I’d love to see more content surrounding the kit. Walkthrough, the kit being used within a mix, a mix breakdown, anything that showcases and gets people more involved and in tune with RS Drums. You guys make the best libraries. Monarch is great, but I don’t even see myself moving on from Fairview. I’m going to purchase just about anything you guys release. I own all the groove packs, and one of the one shot packs. Keep it up. Love the products.
Really happy to hear that! I was pretty excited about those added features. So really appreciate the feedback. Hope you enjoy the new kit! \m/
Sounds great! Congrats on the release!
Thanks a lot Charlie! Hope all is well!
Come to Brazil
my Kontak can only go to 9st then im screwed after that. then I deleted my default folder to reset the outputs and now I don't even have 2 st to select.... have any remedies??
Update, So I had to create new outputs in the stand alone version before they would show in the Daw Version. then I was able to make new outputs in the daw.
@@beasterfield321 Ok! Glad you were able to get this worked out. What DAW are you in? Also, you can save the output section for all formats of Kontakt. That way, when you open Kontakt in any new session moving forward, your outputs section will already be ready to go.

Hope you like the drum library!
How are all of These presets so good, can't wait to try them Out later
Glad you like them! Let us know which one ends up making it into a mix.
Is there a way to make sure Fairview Drums does not hog all my cpu resources like it does. 😢
It could be related to one of the mix presets you're using. The 105 and the Metalcore Money are both a bit heavier on CPU, especially the 105. The Default 1 and 2 are a bit lighter.
I've had this library since it's release and I'm still learning stuff about it! Cheers for this video Anup <3
Thanks so much Ryan! Really appreciate all of the support. Excited for you to try the new library!
Any videos how to route it in Studio one?
No Studio One routing videos unfortunately, however, the Kontakt outputs setup portion will be the same.
Is there a way to set up the cymbal chokes?
Unfortunately, Fairview does not support aftertouch right now, however, this is something we plan to update in the future. Our next library will have aftertouch available for cymbal mutes.
I'm so glad my buddy told me about this right before I bought a different drum library. After watching a few of the videos on your channel, I am completely sold. This has to be the most user friendly interface for drums I've ever seen.
Thanks a lot for the kind words and feedback! Very awesome to hear it, and I hope you're enjoying Fairview so far.
Is there a way to stack multiple one shot samples for snare?
With Fairview, you can only load a single one shot for kick and a single one shot for snare. We've considered adding this feature in future kits, but not sure yet. The next library will be the same as Fairview, but we're adding the ability to also load tom one shot hits.
Its really cool sounding kit. the one shot blend is a cool function. So many modern record have that Gunshot layered underneath the snare. I just bought an ekit and realized pretty much all Kontakt libraries just don't work well with ekits. Chokes and hihat, just a pain in the arse. Id love one of these kind of plugin kits, but more functional for ekits. Like aftertouch cymbals and a hihat function similar to SD3. For me Superior drummer is overkill and ezdrummer 3 is great out of the box functionally to jump on and play but has that over processed *ezdrummer sound* I'd prefer a plugin like Fairview or like a M&M or this or even the Luke Holland, ... ... but all the functionality of ezdrummer 3 - maybe without the band mate function and a trigger loader instead. Mixwave doesn't register chokes, so its a non starter GGD - doesnt work with aftertouch chokes. Krimh - has an aftertouch switch but it seems more like a volume roll off, some decent preset mapping lists - but the free demo you cant adjust velocities to check that the hi hat will adjust properly. like for me the snare doesn't seem to have enough layers, but I cant check without adjusting the veloctiy curve. and the hi hat doesnt trigger properly but again I cant change the mapping in the demo to check it will actually work in the full version. Anyways, thank you for coming to my tend talk.
We're actually working on this right now for our next library. It's definitely a bit tricky getting aftertouch working how it should, but I'd like to sort this out if we can. The new library, which will hopefully be released in a month or two, has much more dynamics compared to Fairview. So it feels better to play on an e-kit already. However, I'm just trying to fine-tune the small details, aftertouch included. We do have cymbal mutes available within the instrument now. Just need to test more.
@@rsdrumsofficial amazing, I'll be keeping an eye out for Monarch 100% - fantastic to now know a timeline. Just for context I emailed you guys a few weeks ago. Great customer support by the way! I emailed a bunch of other drum librarys makers and yours was one of the few that seemed to understand my query and let me know its being implemented for future releases.
You just said exactly what I wanted to say after a few hours of research lol. Came here hoping for a better aftertouch than the competition.
@@DaemonDrummer33 We've added aftertouch to our next library, and we'll be releasing aftertouch for Fairview in an update hopefully in a few months. Our next library should be out in October though, just pending some final coordination with Native Instruments.
@@rsdrumsofficial I'm actually seriously excited for this. If its does what I need I can use it for all my demos and drum tracking. Convert my gp5 to 1 midi map and then play in extra with my ekit It would speed up demoing stuff so god damn much.
The boost function is elaborating on what Perfect Drums did but giving more versatility with the mix presets. Really clever idea. Maybe it was just the programming, but it did sound like the crashes were shotgunning in the MIDI groove. Some in-depth humanizing controls would be cool like in DrumGizmo, and I will always ask for individual left-hand/right-hand articulations for realism, at least on the shells.
Thanks a lot for the feedback! Really appreciate it.
Literally everything came out perfect in all your steps, but for some odd reason, I'm not able to drag a groove into the reaper. Is this something common? I'm on a Roland TD17 BTW if that needs to be addressed.
Been a fan forever. The mix presets are all so well done. Great job guys.
This drum midi is amazing. I like how you all included one of my favorite chinas in this, the dark china. I wish Get Good Drums would include more Meinl cymbals. I hope someday you and Alex will add full sets of Meinl cymbals like the dual series, or the Byzance Dark Series, etc… that would be amazing
Thanks a lot for the feedback! We'd definitely love to add more Meinl cymbals. We have some exciting combinations coming up in the next kit that we hope people will like. \m/

Can I install the software in an external hard drive? My computer is running out of space? Thanks
Yes, you'll be able to download and install any Kontakt libraries onto an external drive and run them. You'll need to change the content location settings in your preferences for Native Access prior to downloading/installing Fairview. Select the content location to be onto your external drive.
@@rsdrumsofficialthanks so much
The Fairview kit sounds really great as a raw base! Insane amount of detail and realism for the price, it just took a little balancing. The presets are obviously catering to the more plug'n'play type. My newest Tesseract cover uses it for the majority of the kit. However, there are especially two things I'd really appreciate in an update or a future kit: 1. Two left crashes. Right now there is only one, so I have to load up another instance of the instrument to get a set with two left crashes. It's a little tedious. 2. Seperate routing outputs for kick in/out and snare top/bot. With my workflow it's just easier, since I bounce everything and never use the built-in mixer. Otherwise, the sampled range of kit pieces are more than enough and sound great. With that said, few well sampled kit pieces with a lot of detail and dynamic response is much more valuable than a ton of bad sampled options. I never use any fancy boost-features or oneshot options, but I understand that there's an appeal for a quick mixed sound, if the library is used for songwriting. Hopefully, the next library will still focus on a great raw foundation!
Thanks a lot for the great feedback! We really appreciate it. There will be a few different cymbal options on the next kit, in specific, a normal crash and a trash crash on the far left. We're also trying to figure out if we can add multi-out routing on the Sub Mixer, so you can do exactly what you described and route individual microphones. It'll bypass any internal bus processing we have for the mix presets if you route from here, but we figured that anyone who wants to route individual mic's will most likely have a different workflow anyways that doesn't rely on the mix presets. Hopefully the next kit accomplishes what you're looking for. \m/
the one shot section was the most brilliant idea in a drums software!! Loving Fairview even more now!
Thanks a lot Ehsan! Happy to hear you liked that new addition. \m/
If anyone has feedback and/or features they'd like to see on the next instrument, please don't hesitate to comment. We're working on the next library right now, and all feedback is greatly appreciated. \m/
Awesome video Anup! I really enjoyed the detail you went into and some of the history you shared behind this kit. This is by far my favorite kit out of the massive library of various drum plugins I have. Fairview is so easy to just throw on a stereo track and have amazing sounding drums just right out of the box. You guys made it so easy with that Multi Out setting as well for when you really want to dial in the tone. Thanks for going the extra mile and processing these samples in the the VST and allowing us to blend them to taste as well. That alone makes my songwriting process so MUCH easier. I don't have to worry about adding 4-5 plugins for rooms, snare, kick, toms and tweaking a bunch of raw samples until I get a drum sound that is inspirational to write with. The one shot mixer and loader just makes everything that much better (different rooms fx for samples? You guys have thought of everything!). It's evident you guys put a TON of thought and work into this. I'm looking forward to ya'lls future with this and hoping you guys take over the drum vst market by storm.
Thanks for much for the kind words! This really means a lot, and I'm really happy to hear you're liking the instrument so far. Please feel free to let me know if you have any feedback or features you'd like to see in the next instrument.

They come with both versions. If you purchase and install Fairview you now, you'll be downloading and installing the most recent version available. So you'll be all good to go. \m/
Getgooddrums, Mixwave, Toontrack... and so on... are all top libraries that I use of course... but the Fairview Kit is, in my opinion, the best drum library you can get right now... right now With the new update, which has been implemented fantastically, the last wishes that we had in mind have also been fulfilled... It's worth picking up... simply great..🤘
i agree man, im honestly surprised there havent been more libraries featuring the starclassic as its such an amazing sounding kit, and all the built-in processing in this plugin is absolutely outstanding. great work guys!
Thanks so much for the kind words and feedback on this. Really makes me happy to hear it. If either of you have any feedback for the next instrument, please feel free to let me know. It'll be fairly similar to Fairview in functionality, with some minor differences.
@@rsdrumsofficial I'm very excited to see what's new
amazing .. any edu price available?
Thank you! Unfortunately, not at the moment. Maybe in the future when we've grown a bit more.

y'all really wrote the heaviest thing ever for a smol demo. I love it
We can't take any credit. Ryan Wood was the brains behind the heavies. \m/
What happened to the paralax template that was attached?
Paralax template? We never released any templates on our end for Fairview. Maybe some guitarists have.
@@rsdrumsofficial i could have swore I saw one when this was released. Maybe another video
Got a template for this?
Unfortunately, we don't have any mix or routing templates available, but we'll be adding some to our site eventually.
