Visualisation of improvised piano music
Просмотров 4487 лет назад
Today's Google Doodle celebrates the 117th birthday of Oskar Fischinger and enables us to compose our own visual music. This motivated me to complement an excerpt of one of my piano improvisations with a visualisation. For this task I used the Music Animation Machine MIDI Player by Stephen Malinowski. Enjoy! Get whatever you want. SK6 is fine
I love this piano! Thank you! 😌❤️🎹
Is the SK3 good for use at home? Or should I get the SK5 or SK6?
How big is your mansion?
@@hastensavoir7782 the room is about 25 feet X 25 feet. Just a regular living room.
@@hastensavoir7782 I can't decide if SK3 is enough or should I get SK5 or SK6.
@@Classical416 it IS! Your room is not that big after all. SK3 is already 6ft in length. SK6 @ 7ft. will be too big for such limited space
@@Classical416 how tall is your ceiling btw?
So ein schönes Lied! Danke
perfekte und hervorragende Stimmung!!!!
I have no idea how this video has 0 comments but this is quite amazing. Great work Daniel!
You really need to post more. This is amazing.
Well played! A street piano that is in tune is not something you hear every day.
Nice playing but where is the owl
Thank you! :) I'm sure the owl was with Michael at that moment! ;)
O som desse piano é muito bonito. ⚘🇧🇷🌷
Wow! That was beautiful. Please, go on. Would you be interested in performing live in sessions?
Hi Evie, thanks for listening and your encouraging words! :) We can get in touch, the best is to write me a short email. Thanks again! :)
Amazing rhythm! Reminds me of Keith Jarrett ;-)
What a beautiful piano
Wow...nice piano with dpa’s mics.....always great...
That was beautiful. Thank you.
These broadwood barless grands are the best value for money piano in the world
Hi Daisy, thanks for your comment. :) So far playing this piano has been my only experience with Broadwood "barless" grand pianos. This particular instrument definitely was excellent value for the asking price.
Hi Daniel. The Ellington Jazz Club in Perth, Western Australia has ordered a new Yamaha S series piano. I did a search to see/hear one and came across your video. Very emotionally expressive and a contrast to the jazz I usually listen to. Thank you. The melody seems familiar. I think it's a song I've heard many times but I can't remember what it is. Can you let me know if it is a popular song? Joe.
Warum ist dieses Stück als "Russian folksong "Eternal Wind" " gekennzeichnet? Meines Wissens nach, ist das ein Stück aus La La Land.
Hello Niklas, Thanks for listening and your input. I have confered with Eduard, and you're correct. Cheers!
Very nice piece, good recording - the piano tone is excellent.
Check out Marcus Roberts (Roberts Pianos Oxford) assessment video of this Broadwood "barless" grand piano (interesting details, i.e., about the fretted Broadwood name in the music desk): ruclips.net/video/FFiN5hM2Qlc/видео.html
Sehr schön! When will we hear more?
Thanks for listening and your praise! :) Eduard will be reviewing material with me next week, so hopefully soon, presumably on a new channel with a dedicated playlist - I'll post a link then. Cheers!

Really nice playing Daniel! You play with soul. Keep it up :)
Very nice indeed. Melodic and soulful playing. DR K
Thanks a lot Brendan! I appreciate that very much that you visited my channel. By the way - I like your music videos, imho they are very creative (content- and settingwise) - maybe next time we're both in London you can show me some blues licks at one of the street pianos? In any case I'd love to meet up someday. Have fun and take care! Cheers
Sehr schöne ausbalancierte Aufnahme.
Vielen Dank fürs Lob und Deine Unterstützung, lieber Holger! :-)
Just had a listen -- lovely piece! Did you improvise it? It sounds like it's got quite a clear structure, but flows really easily.
Felt quite inspired after a nice evening with friends from Canada Water. Just put up some mics, sat down and went with the flow. Although there are some minor tempo issues here, I really like the result, also from a recording point of view (something I've been putting my mind to more the last months). The DPAs really are great at capturing the imho wonderful acoustics. I'm happy to hear that you like the piece and that you can identify some structure in my piano "doodling". Thanks for listening! :)
Nice with some Jarret spirit.
Thanks a lot, that's very flattering! :)
This is quite a pretty piece. Did you improvise this on the spot?
Thank you for your feedback. Appreciate it! :) Yes, this is (partially) improvised - partially because the melody was already there, i.e. many of my ideas originally originate from improvisation; some melodies, like this one, stay with me and develop over time; so typically if the piece gets a name, then it's a "refined" improvisational version.
Ah, OK. I usually get my ideas for compositions by improvising too, although I still need a lot of practice before I get really good at improvisation. You should make more videos like this.
Thanks again! :) Actually, I've got a lot of recorded material I would like to upload and probably will do so soon, gradually. Stay tuned :)
