Thank you for sharing, as a very new business I too fell into boxing my self in, not massively, but still have had to rethink my brand, I started with herbal teas, as that’s my passion and growing herbs, but have ventured into more botanical products, like soap, lotion bars, shave soap and lotions. It’s very difficult to stay focused on one line, fortunately my name can extend to my other creative passions.

Just a thought. Dive deep into 1 product. I’m not nearly as far as you but this is one of the things I’m thinking.

This is question I ask a lot of creators but I don’t receive answer , since you now know your brand message, how you came up with the scents of your candles that goes with your brand? What makes you decide to choose those scents?

How I got over impulsive buying: 1. I make a wishlist AND a must-order list; 2. I put myself on a budget; 3. I order only once a month. If there's any budget left after the items on the must-order list have been dealt with, I choose what I really want from my wishlist. I just mark those items and leave it until the next day. I think impulsivity, shiny object syndrome (ADD?) are all common in creative people.

And I’m totally getting you on the car freshie thing. I genuinely like making them. And they sell pretty good. But, regardless of who makes them, those things do not hold scent! I have purchased some pretty pricey car freshness from commercial stores….same result.

Guilty on the impulsive buying…but it’s candle vessels for me.

Hi I just got done watching all you videos I found you about a week ago thank you so much for sharing your journey I will be Lauryn soap in January and I’m going to try a hybrid model I will have my core line and then one or two max seasonal items and the is it I think the will work and they will be limited meaning I’ll make one batch so my customers know when they are gone that’s it I think that will build hype and over time people will know to back seasonally and know to be the fist as well well that’s my hope

Hello , I use a confectionery funnel I got at Walmart that is great for pouring my lotions and body oils. It’s stainless steel so you can was wash it and reuse it for ever. It also come with the stand that helps a lot during the process. Regarding the fo, that is always and issue for us as maker since they are proprietary and the manufacturer can change ingredients without letting us know about it. Even if you get same fragrance from the same supplier. Congratulations on your first wholesale order.

I found that simplifying some of my recipes to contain less variety of oils helped with cost. Let's say you use sweet almond, Avacado, and hemp oil. You could pick one and try to sub that for the others with the same results. This would allow you to buy 1 larger bottle of oil instead of 3 smaller ones. Finding other uses for the ingredients I already buy is how I lowered some of my costs.

OK, so you substitute your oil, but did you ever thought about that the person that you are selling the product to already know the ingredients list that is listed on your label so when you are doing a substitution for macadamia nut oil be careful of nut allergies however I hope you already put those on your label

I tried making these and the reed diffuser oil and fragrance oil are separating. The fragrance oil just lays in the bottom of the jar. Both the reed diffuser oil and fragrance oils are from The Flaming Candle. Is the cure time supposed to combine these oils? Any help would be appreciated!

back again...Hahaha my sniff boxes are the 1oz tins. I print the scent name on the top half of a 2" circle label stick it inside the tin, then I take a cotton round, cut it in half, hot glue it in the bottom half of the label, put a few drops of the FO. I offer 17 different scents and this has worked great for me. When they get gross, I just peel it all out of the tin and make a fresh new sniff box.

I use these same bottles and I have found that even though the plug is in, they still diffuses and get the wooden lid wet or spots appear on the wooden lids, so I have started taking a couple pieces of scotch tape over the plug, wrapping down the neck of the bottle, then putting the wooden lid on as an extra barrier and this helps a lot! be very careful not to force the wooden lid to screw all the way if it doesn't want to because it will split the wood and break it..

I love the idea of using the squirt bottle! That seems like a time saver and so clean!

Solid lotion bar. If so great idea to use the stick tubes. They can be kind of messy when placed in a tin.

You are not making the soap, you are only melting it down and adding other ingredients to it. This is ok if that is what you want to make it safer for you, but this is very misleading
