Here’s my Eddie Money story. I went to the Burbank airport to pick up my boss who was flying in from SFO. On the way I had a couple cups of coffee and needed a biology break. It was the early 90’s so I was actually parked at the curb. I ran into the mens bathroom, while standing at the pee box I see Eddie come in and goes to one, one away from me. I had just seen him play a month earlier in Sacramento so I knew it was him. I said, your names Eddie right? Yes he said. Eddie Money? Yes. I finished, was washing my hands and I told him about the concert in Sacramento AND that I was listening to one of his cassette in my truck. Bullshit he says. I say, my trucks at the curb, it I’m telling you the truth you sign my cassette if I’m lying I’ll give you a $10 spot. You’re on. Let’s go. We walk out together to my truck. Open the door and I show him the tape. Son of a bitch, that’s great. Where’s the cover? He signed it “To Tim & Delana, Love Ya, Eddie Money.” We talked for a few minutes. I remember he said he lived in Lafayette, CA. Thinking back, he knew I wasn’t BSing him. He gave me a great memory. Great guy.
I see what Kid Rock was trying to do, but he just doesn't sound right covering this song. His voice is too raspy. Eddie Money sounded smooth but powerful when he did it. Not feelin this version.
I worked Pine Knob (DTE) for years . Eddie Opened EVERY year. IT WAS SUMMER TIME IN MICHIGAN!!! Their where other acts that played earlier at DTE, BUT! The Summer Only Started After Eddie Played!!! Everyone in Michigan LOVES EDDIE MONEY!!!!
another asshole with a crappy cell phone at a concert. ass holes like you jon chapp are why concerts are a waste of time and money. Rest in peace Eddie.
Kidrock is so thoughtful and he said he wanted to show his respect. He did an amazing job, and sang that song very well and he has some many good songs, but Shakin is one of my favorites no doubt about that. RiP Eddie Money and like Kid said, rock on Eddie and he would honestly be so proud. Thanks Kid you are a humble and very kind man. So talented he can sing anything, he just has one of those voices. You're music will always live on Eddie. God Bless the family and friends because another great artist in Heaven. Great Job Kid you were amazing as always.
I saw kidrock as well and BlackBerry Smoke was at the concert and so was Lynryd Skynyrd it was they're Farewell Tour, also The Marshall Tucker Band, The Charlie Daniel's Band and Jason Aldean was there. The second concert Brantley Gilbert and then Kidrock who i went to see and it was just an added bonus to see all the other artists.
Gracias Eddie por haber hecho feliz nuestra adolescencia con tu musica, siempre fuiste un grande...saludos desde el Santiago de Surco, el distrito rockero de Lima!
Damn he can't sing worth a sht. I suspected that over the years never really hearing too much from oh Kid Rock. He won the lottery for sure. He got himself a badass guitarist and did it.
Yes, Respect for Kidrock, and RIP Eddie Money, and kid you did an amazing job for shakin, Eddie would be proud and you performed it the day he passed. Your a very thoughtful man kid and his music will forever live on and love you Kid and class act no doubt about it, great job!!
