Hotels you can book on travel apps like Make My Trip or other apps using pay later option. Flights you can book refundable tickets. Before applying for visa you should have flight tickets (with return ticket) and hotels with proper itinerary.

Hi sir we are not sure of this H1b. As of we know You can apply for a Schengen visa from the United States itself. You do not need to return to India to get their H1B visa stamped before applying for a Schengen visa. Please check with the Spain consulate regarding the same.
