Thanks for the comparison. I’m curious how the back of the pink-on-one-side shirt looks. Is there the same amount of dye? Or is it less?
That’s a great question, both sides of all three shirts look very similar. The dye penetrates pretty evenly. The “all on one side” shirt looks nearly identical on both sides. Since this video (thanks to comments) I’m including final pics of both sides of each shirt. Thank you for for watching 😀
It’s so fun to see how these types turn out. It looks really cool. Side note: I started watching the video and thought the music was awful, then I realized I was watching at 1.5. 😂 The music was actually fine.

I did the bleach about 30 years ago. It's pretty cool. You never know what color it will be. It depends on the dye used when shirt was manufactured. I tried different color shirts.
funny you should mention that, I shot another bleach dye video after this one with a blue shirt. It turned out great, very different. That video will go up soonish 😀
Had you done other shirts of the same brand that you knew it would come out orange. It also looks tiger-ish. Very cool !
All of the bleached black shirts I found on RUclips ended up orange, I wonder if there are black shirts that turn a different color. Maybe if they are made of something other than cotton 🤔

I’m going to be revisiting this concept soon with fewer variations on a single color. I’m interested in finding out how many combinations play best together 😀
Hi Brenden. To make the vertical pleating easier, draw a line (with washable marker) half way down the shirt, perpendicular to the direction of the pleats. Fold along the line and secure with an elastic band. Then pleat either side of the band. This is the method I use when going for horizontal stripes and it is so much easier than trying to fold along the whole length of the t shirt in one go.

Very cool! I enjoy your videos. I wonder what would happen if you twisted the shirt before you put the rubber bands on. It would still have the concentric circles but would the white lines be angled in a different way?

Love this shirt. I wonder how it would come out if you did just the rainbow on the front and then all black on the back. Kind of like how the sprial is done with color on the front and black on the back.

That came out super nice ,great colors for all of fall time. I have never done tie dye, one day I will overcome my fear of messing a project up, as a seasoned crafter, I shouldn’t do too badly…lol! Just need a great tutorials or teacher!!! Great job!

Dharma has a chart somewhere on their website that says what colors to use for each team. Amazon has 4oz precision tip bottles that make laying down thinner lines soooo much easier. Always put your yellows on first. The other colors tend to overtake it. Looks great, even if it isn't a Chiefs shirt ;) You're doing awesome for a relatively new dyer!

I'm not a fan of brown. but that looks pretty good. I like the pattern. I notice you have a nice, new roll of sinew. If you continue to use it off the roll like that, it will soon be a tangled mess. Get yourself something like a piece of dowel to wrap some around. It will be so much easier to get your tension. And if you leave a couple inches of a tail and tie a knot in the end to make it easy to find, the sinew does unwind. Also putting some thickened water on the areas you want to stay white will help. Sodium alginate is available from Dharma. (And in case you don't already know, around Thanksgiving they have a free shipping promotion.)

Absolutely, the 4 colors are all from Dharma Trading, they are 1. Robins Egg Blue 2. Black Cherry 3. Lime Pop 4. Hot Pink. 😀

I just did my first spiral ice dye and I added more ice and dye after the first round of ice melted because there was still white showing . I love how you left the white in the middle and the design is beautiful! Thank you!

@@BrendenStewart I was curious cause I seen it still had white seem thread after dyeing.. How's that work if it's 100% cotton? I prefer the seem thread remaining white is why I ask.
Great question, the thread in these shirts is polyester I believe. The fabric is cotton but the thread doesn’t accept dye. I might look for shirts with cotton thread. 😀
@@BrendenStewart well thank you.. at least now I know one of the cheaper options has the same color I prefer. Btw.. the Haynes I use have cotton seams if that's what your looking for 🤷

This longer shirt has curious... Have you ever tried inclined dieing with the blank in a V shape .. kind of a double incline towards each other... If that makes sense 🤷
I haven’t tried inclined or gravity dying yet, I like the idea though. 😀
