snowmobile voltage regulator failure
This video shows the headlight low beam waveform using a picoscope 4425. Being scoped is a headlight bulb on a 98 Polaris indy 500. The video starts off as unregulated voltage which is AC, but unregulated. When the wiring is moved just right on the voltage regulator wire (yellow 1 wire, for all the Polaris followers) it changes to regulated. When unregulated a AC voltage meter (DVOM) will read close 18-20 volts. When regulated it will read about 11 if I remember correctly.     Does the Verus have this transmission, just bought one I want to try on my 06 range rover. I replaced the solenoids now i have no reverse the original problem was an open circuit on sol C would love to just see if they are turning on or off, great video

    Hey Wagonlight, I was driving my 2004 Chevy Trailblazer LS been running smoothly just had an inspection to get new tags. So I was driving about 30 MPH and all of a sudden my car ReV up and down. I never felt slipping in my transmission at all. Ran smoothly Pull to the side. And when I put the gear in Reverse, Drive and the rest of the gears. If I push the gas pedal it does Rev as it should. It will not move at all. Then someone said my transmission fluid was overfill. Have that drain to the right level. And still no moving. No check engine light. could it be my Transmission Shift Solenoid? Never had a sign of slipping. Can you help me?

      Mike, 1.) To me this is likely what occurred here. When you were driving it, all of a sudden the issue with it revving up and down is because the engine protects it self while in drive and reverse from revving to high. The engine computer limits engine rpms and when it hits a limit the ecm will kill the fuel and let it rev down to reduce the speed so it does not blow up. Us technicians call that the rev limiter. So when you were driving something lost the drive to the transmission likely causing that to disconnect the torque converter from connecting the engine torque to the transmission. 2.) Wont move, but someone said your oil was overfull. When transmission levels are checked they are always done in park, or if you consult the owners manual it may also say neutral with the Ebrake on. Regardless if you checked the transmission level and it was overfull it is likely something is not making the pump spin. The torque converter is bolted directly to the engine, and on the back side of that is a 2 teeth hub. Anytime that engine is spinning because the converter is connected to the flexplate of the engine, it spins a oil pump in the trans. That oil pump drops the level to the oil dipstick you check when it is running properly because it pushes the trans level to the parts that are responsible to make those gears occur it also circulates the trans fluid to the converter. All that drops the level to push it to the cold or hot range depending on the temp that your checking it. And there is a level on the dipstick to tell you that. Always check dipstick 3 times for consistency and always go with the lower fluid trace when doing so not the top one. If the pump broke or something internally to the pump gear broke no fluid can be pumped from the filter to pull it to the transmission oil pump. This would raise the level in the pan and when you check it on the stick to someone who may not know that, appears to be overfull. If you dropped the level to the normal range it means it is likely underfilled. To check that, check the level with the engine off 3 times for consistency... then start the engine in park and recheck the level, in EVERY case, it should drop EVERYTIME... if it is not the pump is not rotating and is not pumping pressure to the transmission converter and clutches to make it move forward. If this all of a sudden did that like you say depending on the severity of it, it may have not damaged your transmission internally as far as clutches are concerned, but the pump rotor sure seems like what possibly broke to me which is why your vehicle did, what it did.

    Can you actually find out if youre transmission is broken with this ? because im having a probleme with my 09 ralliart TC-SST and my dealership want to pass a scanner could he actually find the piece thats broken ?
