Part of the first Havana to New York HNY pop-up dance show, by the DE Latin Dance Ensemble. This dance is the final of 4 dances, which brought us through the early 1900s to the 1960s. It was preceded by a Cuban Son, 'Ritmando cha cha cha' an early cha cha, then a boogaloo style cha cha (1960s). This final dance was a Mambo/ Jive (boogaloo era) by singer La Lupe. In honor of Lee Maracle, pioneering indigenous author, writer, activist and poet. She passed away Nov 11th. My brief interaction with her on the Voice of the River project and the nature of her writing helped me to know I was on the right path, not matter any missteps I take along the way.

Dance - Embodied prayer for salmon - was created as a part of the National Water Dance project, 2020. My dance was inspired by a deep desire to see salmon return to the Inland Northwest. They were extirpated from this area and interior British Columbia Canada, Idaho, and Montana about 80 years ago, with the installation of the Grand Coulee dam and others.
