Gotta jump in here. I work with Rex. He's still a shredder but he's also a great bluesman. Add his amazing acoustic work and he's incredibly versatile. Why would anyone compare him to John P.? It's like comparing Al Dimeola to Freddie King. Both great but two completely different styles. Rex is playing TX style blues rock here. Doesn't mean he can't shred anymore. It means he can do both. He's highly influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Henrix, Yngwie Malmsteen and Chris Imperitelli along with many others. Stevie is His guitar hero and this is blues rock.
