You missed one important item that it was and still is famous for: gems. In the ancient time traders from world over came to Anuradhapura for trading. Perhaps Pythagorus came with his father, who was a wealthy gem trader and took away the Buddhist philosophy to Greece/Anatolia. He became a vegetarian and started preaching something similar to Jainism which believes in God's. Perhaps he was killed for this like what happened to Jesus later. He lived during Buddha's time. So, people have not understood Sri Lanka's true history and it's rulers connections to European and middle Eastern rulers.

correction-: Not independence from India. Sri Lanka was a unique british colony separated from british India. India got independence in 1947 but Sri Lanka got independence in 1948 from Britain.

This was a beautiful and well composed video, but you left out many things. It was incomplete and provided one-sided view not a totally accurate representation or full perspective of the Dominican Republic as a whole. The DR is geographically diverse for its size, having in addition to extensive beaches of white sand, it also has evergreen forests in the highlands, fertile valleys with exuberant vegetation, and even desert zones with dune formations. This means that the DR is far more than just beaches with coconut and palm trees. It is the only Island with the highest mountain peak in the Caribbean absent of tropical vegetation but instead pine tree covered forests, occasional snowflakes, and freezing temperatures in winter. Yes, also true and to the other extreme there are desert-like terrains with dunes, cactus landscape, and the only country with the largest sand dunes in the Caribbean You repeatedly mentioned and emphasized the country's diversity, but I mostly saw black people or natives that looked mixed but predominantly black even the Taino Indians you portrayed looked black. You failed to mention that the DR is really a multiracial, multiethnic and multicultural country which is reflected in its people. There are plenty of Dominicans of Middle Eastern origins composed of Lebanese, Syrians, and Palestinians fleeing conflicts who arrived in large numbers during the 19th, and 20th centuries. The president of the DR Luis Abinader is one example of a native who is of Lebanese origin and the other example is me. Waves of Asian immigrants also arrived in the Dominican Republic between 1916 and 1924, in the 1940s, and in the 1990s. We have a vibrant Chinese community with a well-established Chinatown in the heart of Santo Domingo as well as a smaller Japanese colony in the town of Constanza. However, among the melting pot and to a lesser extent there are Dominicans with French, Hungarian, and Portuguese backgrounds. During the Spanish Civil War plenty of Spaniards arrived in an effort to escape the War. Although now more cosmopolitan, the town of Sosua in the North Coast was once a settlement for Austrian and German Jews escaping Nazi concentration camps during World War II and today there are thousands of their descendants. We also need to mention Dominicans of Italian ancestry, and one prominent example is Frank Rainieri the founder of Punta Cana and my wife is 3rd generation Italian. You also completely overlooked the rural interior, central Cibao region with its 2nd most important city of Santiago and surrounding mountainous areas of the country. The natives in these parts are descendants of the Spanish settlers who came to permanently live in the DR during the 17th and 18th centuries, not as a colonizer but rather economic migrants who permanently stayed seeking better economic opportunities. Therefore, I would recommend a second video which paints a completer and more accurate picture of the other side of the Dominican Republic which you missed and failed to point out. You need to include the rest of us, because we also count too.

I am Dutch, and i know that the average temperature in the summer in the Netherlands is higher then the between 17-20 degrees celcius mentioned in the video. Yes, we do not have the best summers out there, specially when it comes to rain, but it's still better as what it's presented. The reality is: On average we have about 66 days of 20 degrees celcius, and 23 days of 25 or more degrees celcius (1994-2023) And the average temperature at night is about 12 degrees celcius during summertime (hence the average temp of 17 degrees mentioned in the video i quess?) The average winter temperatures are: 6,7 degrees celcius during daytime, and 1,2 degrees during nighttime
