Caro Benny Goodman, vorrei esporre due riflessioni tipicamente femminili, forse. Ecco la prima. Conosco la tua musica da circa quarant' anni e, a chi me lo avesse domandato, avrei risposto che Tu eri il MIO musicista jazz preferito. Oggi, però, grazie ai video di RUclips Tu per me sei diventato molto di più perché è come se Ti conoscessi da sempre.Sei diventato come un nonno (quello che non ho mai conosciuto) e quando ascolto la Tua musica TU sei lì che dirigi e suoni il tuo clarinetto. Dai video si evince che sei una persona garbata dai modi gentili. Il tuo sorriso è dolce e trasmette bontà. E quando parli col tuo pubblico non manchi mai di usare frasi spiritose che evidenziano che il senso dell' umorismo è innato in TE. Per cui e' naturale che si sia creato e sempre più rafforzato in me un legame speciale nei Tuoi confronti che mi porta sempre più spesso persino a dialogare con TE. This one is much sharper, in stereo ... much newer, with a more swing, much ... BG. The '41 version (the link) is slower, darker...

That's not Benny Goodman.

I agree, it's the Dave Shepherd Quintet, He was one the best clarinet players in Britain who modelled his style on Goodman, who famously said of Shepherd " he sounds more like me than I do! "

It's not Benny Goodman. It could be Sid Phillips, English band leader and clarinettist. He made a recording of this.

I am pretty sure the pianist is george shearing, so buddy defranco might be on clarinet.

Dreamsville is a masterful creation by Henry Mancini. All the Peter Gunn TV series music by Mr. Mancini. as great. I like Kent's rendition better than Krall's. She exhibits an honesty in her telling the story. Lola Albright, Sass and Andy Williams had great versions as well.
