NYC Motorcycle Trip. Perkins Tower VS Hamburger!
It was a nice day for a ride. We decided to go to Perkins Memorial Tower. The ride to the tower BUT was really nice but the tower road was close for some unknown reason. We had to find a new destination. Is there anything better than a juicy hamburger. New destination was a dinner that we knew for the great hamburger they have. We got there and had a delicious burgers. Went back home really full and happy.

Thanks for the review. For the type of ridding, I do on my Honda CB500X (Daily commute and gravel roads) the "Forma Low Adventure Boots" will be ideal! I'm just about to head out on a 6-day- 5-night adventure ride and I will only be taking 1 set of shoes / boots with me, so the boots I take need to be waterproof in any rainstorms.
These are really nice boots for this kind of riding. Enjoy your trip.
@@MotoPavilion When it comes to cleaning and maintain the Forma boots. Something that you and other owners, may or may not know. is that the Forma website states that ... "Heavy waterproofing products or waxes can block the stitching lines which allow the boots to breath and dry naturally. Any lightweight water-based leather conditioning product is ok to apply from time to time. We don't recommend oil based leather products as they soften the leather too much and can cause bonded soles to separate from the leather." The "Nikwax" boot cleaning and waterproofing website appears to make a very suitable range of products for these boots. Their product are water-based.
Good video. Will definitely help me install my side bags with the tail bag when it comes next week.
I am happy it helps.
...so these aren't hiking boots?
No , they are not.
OMG, it was so dramatic the way you review about the boots (or maybe I'm so used to the "buts" in Motorcycle gear) but great and honest review. Never felt you were trying to sell me sh%t at all cost, appreciated your honest recommendation man
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you very much my friend. That was very helpful😎.
Thank you for the review. I have just bought these shoes without looking at any reviews. There were not many options at my place due to some govt norms and this boot sounded best out of all options. I was worried about the waterproofing part but this video gave me confidence.
I rode for 30 minutes in a constant downpour and the only thing on my body that wasnt soaked was my feet! These did great. 2,000 miles and nothing but comfortable. Has a nice wide toebox too so your feet spread out naturally and dont get cramped after a long ride
@jewelscoop3570 Those are great road boots. I got Forma Tera Evo waterproof on my Alaska trip. They are not waterproof as they say but are more protective.
Great video! Exactly what I wanted to see, real world installation.
I am happy to help.
Thank you for the video!
Thanks for watching.
Thank you 🎉
Do you like the quality? no issues?
Thanks for this report. About the color of these boots I think brown and black looks nicer than black. But when you wear black riding jacket and pants, do you think brown and black goes well with it or it should be black? Please give me your opinion. Thank you.
Nice video mate. Changing the brake lever doesn't seem that hard. Thx from France :)
G'Day from Australia. Thanks, mate, for the instructional video. I'm just about swap out the original brake and clutch levers on my 2020 CB500X with some aftermarket levers. Your video gives me a good idea of what I need to do. Great trick with the socket, to take the tension of the clutch cable! 👍
Muchas gracias.
You are welcome.
Thanks for the review, I’m looking to buy one of this
Those are great boots.
But when hot layered gear is much better. Maybe laminate trousers so are always waterproof and layer top (putting on waterproof layer takes no time) ?
I got Aerostich waterproof pants and I am very happy with them. Just ordered Revit waterproof jacket. I hope it will be good.
Great bike.
thanks for your knowledge
You are welcome.
Nice👍🙂
Just ordered these ! How do you like them compared to stock ?
They are not fancy but get the job done.
Shut up !!!! ..your showing them bending over not done up !!!!!!!!!!!!! ...post a video of them done up and let us watch you strain to bend them over ....i have them and love them !!! Dont spread un ~truths 😮
I am living in a tropical country and mostly ride on roads. Are these going to be too stuffy? Let’s say some 5 hours on 35 degree calcius plus weather?
These boots are perfect for road ride. They are so comfortable since the moment I put them on. I am sure you are going to love them.
nice but a lot of small talk . you can do the same in 10 min
Thanks for your nice review. I am going to get new boots, I have got few options, and these are in my list. As first option right now. I am riding a lot, around 40.000 km a year, but 100% on-road. I will take into account your observation. Thanks again & Ride in Peace !
Forma are really nice boots. I am glad to help.
Too bad this happend to you and your bike 😢 It feels like somebody shits on your heart. have the same bike which also sleeps outside on the main street of a big city. But I always use a bike cover combined with a u-lock that goes through the cover and the front wheel because once the cover was stolen from my bike 🤦♂️ Have a good luck and don't give thieves a chance any more!
Thanks. I appreciate your words.
Great video - thanks you. I own these boots and 100% agree with this review.
Thanks for watching! I just got Forma Terra Evo Dry Boots. They look pretty promising
This boot is real, I got two of this , the long and the short version they are both literally sturdy and ideal for adventure. I'd been using this 7 years in a row
7 years is a really long time. I just got Forma Terra Evo X. They say they have better protection…..
did you have any problems while bending over? I'm worried about the rubber pad on the toes pinching your foot when you kneel down. Thank you for the review!
I don’t have any issues with these boots. They are so comfortable. I don’t feel any discomfort whatsoever with them in any position.
Mine pinched for about a week, but i adjusted the strap a bit looser, and it went away after a week of breakin
Wow I'm sry you had to go thru this. I have the same bike and I feel for you. Lesson learned. I'm getting a lock and alarm. Thanks for sharing 👍
They just stole my second bike. My advice….get an expensive reliable lock, GPS tracker and hide this tracker very well. Don’t just put it under your seat.
Thanks for the review! Well done
Thanks for watching!
Ouch that's sad I am sorry to hear , will you do anything different next time around ?
What actually happened was I got a new bike. I put Apple AirTag, GPS tracker and disc lock. They stole this bike for around 3 minutes. I got chased them and after an hour GPS tracker stop sending location. What I learned is that there is no an universal answer/solution to keep your bike safe.
Sorry to hear, your not alone in this unfortunately lots of this around. All the best to you and your next bike, take care!
Hello, got mine a couple of years ago, really like it. Looking forward to some longer road trips.
Enjoy it
Hello Sir, I use Rukka gear for 30 years. Also with the Goretex layer on the outside. Very expensive. But for 20 years i did ride the whole year through. So also with freezing temperatures. But in the summer they are way to hot. So i bought seperate gear. Very well vented gear. When it is past 18 degrees Celsius when i go from home it is that that i wear. But remember, i go 250 km'ters to work and home. When going on a large trip i also take the vented gear. But i take 3 jackets. One is from Gerbing and is electrical heated. Then a very thin waterproof and windproof layer. And the vent jacket. They are all very light and with that combined i can easily ride in freezing temps. But also when it is 35 degrees Celsius. Because of the weight / bulkines and being way to hot i never take that gear with me when going on a large trip. So if you ride a whole year. Then simply buy two seperate gear. From my expereince this is the only and best solution. There is no other way. Ofcourse i use the thin waterproof jacket when not on the bike. And i can even power the Gerbing jacket when away from the bike. Could even wear it while in my sleepingbag when it is extremely cold. And power it with a 12 vokt powerbank. I combine the electrical heated cloathing to be able to travel as light as possible. On all fronts. Look into Rukka. Goretex as outher shell and airvent gear purely for two months per year when it is hot.
Thanks for all the details you shared. I actually got full Gotetex suit from Aerostitch. Suit is really well made and it is waterproof. I was hit by heavy rain couple of time. What I discovered was that Gore Tex restricts my movements. The whole garment doesn’t move so freely as a regular textile jacket. This summer I am going to Alaska and I was thinking to go with this suit but I am going with my Sand 3 jacket and pants with rain gear.
@@MotoPavilion Indeed. Most of the times those expensive outer Goretex gear is to heavy and to hot. When you only ride tarmac over the whole year then for 7 or 8 months it is the best gear you can use. But there are also a lot of situations that such gear works against you. Some trips need flexibility. Then it is much better to work in layers and take your normal raingear along. Riding offroad above 35 degrees Celsius is quite dangerous. I have experenced that i overheated. And needed way more drinking that way. Maybe i will try such a protective vest and knee protection. But they are very expensive. Then again. I am always afraid of when crashing that the inside kneeprotector will shift. When you brake your knee it is gameover. I have bought a bike lift from Easbound. The first time i will ever use that. Cause i am sure i will crash. Not if but when. And unloading the bike takes a long time. And my expereince is that when i crash then probably within a few minutes i will crash again. When the terrain you are on is bad. And lifting your bike again and again costs so much energy. I hope it will benefit me. I have also a slight heavier bike then before.
Thanks a million for the review. It's really helpful. Planning to buy this boots for a long time. From ur review, i think this is perfect for me. Cheers mate 👍
I am glad it helped. Thanks for watching.
Greetings, As always great video 🇺🇸🍾🎉🇺🇸. Would you provide me with the link to purchase these levers?! Keep producing more videos.
This is the link a.co/d/eew8fnx
The boots are not made in Italy, they are actually made in Romania.
Thanks for the info.
What about highway riding?
CB500X is capable on highways. You can’t expect to ride as Africa Twin but I can say that it handles it pretty well. I am 220lbs plus 65lbs luggage and the bike goes with 75Mph with 57 gas consumption.
Thanks for sharing your experience with these tyres. Have you noticed that the Mitas E07+ comes in Radial and bias play versions for the front? The rear is only bias play. Do you know which one you went for? Anything you would recommended? Thanks
You got me here. Unfortunately they stole my motorcycle with and I can’t check the tires. If you are curious how they did it I have a video on this. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the review. I bought the Formas for light stuff and riding around town and the Alpinestar Tech 7s for single track and enduro stuff. Just like with most dual sport things, you cant find one boot to do it all.
You are absolutely right. There is no such a thing as perfect boot. I also have Tech 7 but my problem is riding pants and knees protectors. I have Revit adv pants and they don’t fit very well with Tech 7. What pants and knee pads you are using with Tech 7? I planing to go to Alaska this summer and I am considering getting Forma Terra Evo. I see good reviews for those boots.
So sorry, Friend. That sucks.
Thanks
No chain or U-lock? Really?
My area is with low criminal activity. That’s why no chain or U-lock.
👍👍👍
Wow, that looks super easy. Now I will remember about disc lock and GPS tracker. Sorry for your loss :(
You have to do this if you want to keep your bike safe.
they are nasty people someone should take them down to the docks
Sad to see the beloved thing stolen. Very sorry.
Thanks
Ugh. Sorry for your loss. Very tough experience.
Thanks…it hurts…
Very same of you i have the same bike 2020 same color i hope you find it.i live in greece
Insurance company told me that recovery rate is really low. The cops don’t care. I don’t think I am going to have it back. If I try to find something good in this situation is that it gives me a chance to get a different bike.
THey look like a bunch of pedos and rapists. Hope the police find them soon, you never know what they might do next.
That is a bad thing. Thinking your bike is safe and than you can see it all on camera how they steel your bike. Hopefully the insurance will pay and the cops will find your bike back in good order. Success
I try to look at the bright side (but it is so hard to do it ) Now I have a change to get a different bike.
@@MotoPavilion that is the only positive thinking you must do right now. You had a great time with your Honda and beautiful video’s and pictures 👍🏻
