almost 40 years to the day!
He tried to warn them. They wouldn't listen!
He told truth..
It is so refreshing to listen to this, people were allowed to speak freely without fear or shaming. If only they knew that later British native people would become a minority in their own capital, ruled by an anti-british mayor of Pakistani origin who prioritises islam events over christian events. The worst aspect of it, is how ridiculed Enoch Powell was for speaking out and accused of scare-mongering, yet it has turned out much worse, even the Labour MPs from that time would be horrified! We need our modern day Enoch Powell to turn the tide before it is totally lost.
“ I took my beating “, could you ever imagine hearing most of the entitled brats of today ever come out with a similar statement.🙄
Should have listen to this man..
He was correct !.
I left the UK 2 months after this debate.
Imagine having that level of intellect and yet being so small minded and myopic in your world view. Racism is a stupidity that infects that most intelligent.
Nothing he said in this debate so much as broached upon racism. Evidently, as you at least credit Mr. Powell with high intellect, we should all defer to your supreme intellect for being able to spot and solve his supposed flaws. Thank you for your interest in this upload.
The Brian Clough of British Politics
The irony. This man fought for the regime that have done exactly to Britain what he warned against. Intelligent guy, but clearly ideologically possessed.
I agree , case of paranoia almost

She had the most softpower worldwide to continues to keep pace with her colleagues to tackle the toughest issues, she was incredible to handle them until her 89 years old. True boss.
Dude should have been alive at the time of anglo saxon and normans. We want our celtic culture back😂
Sounds like a big whitewash to me 😂
Can you imagine a black man born and raised in Japan calling himself a Japanese. The Japanese would just laugh at him. Only it seems Europeans are blind to accept that they have an ethnicity, and hence miss Ireland being black.
There are lots of blacks in japan. Look at notable blacks in japan at google
Japan is a overpopulated and very competitive stressful country. Thats why no one wants to go there
…and now, here we are.
Imagine trying to debate Enoch Powell... It would be like trying to fight a lion armed with a tablespoon.
Enoch Powell. The best Prime Minister we never had. Should he have been alive today he would have been horrified. And he would have done something about it.
The true prime minister we should have had. Unafraid of criticism, strong, very well educated and able to see problems arising before they have chance to. I wonder what Great Britain would be like now if he had become Prime Minister.
One of the most unjustly vilified and unsung heroes in British political and military history. Fascinating from start to finish.🇬🇧
On the 28th April 2024 the Times reported that Blunt may have betrayed Operation Market Garden.
We still have idiots in government like those that argued for mass immigration. Enoch was right. If they could see the state of our country now they would wish they had listened to him.
great interview and insights
He was definitely right all along because we're feeling it here in the US with the Hispanic Immigration.
A man of genius. If Churchill had half his honour, intelligence and clairvoyance Britain would have avoided the catastrophe we’re currently experiencing. Calling Enoch 2.0.
Political Genius.
I cannot see any of the current contenders for the Conservative leadership ever driving the mesage home like this.
I write in the comments for this video to ask: why did you turn off the comments for your video, "Odd man out / A film portrait of Enoch Powell"? Would be very interested to read your reasons. Much obliged.
It became too much of a burden to moderate; nearly every comment spurned an inappropriate argument that was often entirely irrelevant to the topic at hand. It's a pity, as I must note that there were many comment submissions that I found interesting and on the occasion, genuinely humorous. I do not own any rebroadcasting rights to that particular upload, all of which belong to the BBC, respectively (and of which they have already claimed). I have no real interest in maintaining that comment section, therein.
Never let it be said that good men did nothing.
Enoch Powell was too intelligent and complexe-minded for modern times. People only want to see issues as simple alternative, black/white, good/evil - and Labour members in 1980 were very much as everybody is today. Are you a racist, yes or no? Nothing else matters. If you dare speak more than thirty seconds (or in writing, use long periodic sentences), people will lose the thread. This is childish and barbaric, but that's how the modern world works, the famous "age of science" (and of illiteracy, too). In the case of this speech, it shows clearly how, after a few minutes, the Labour MPs no longer understood what Powell meant, they were unable to grasp his point, and only wanted to know if his speech was a "bad speech" (ie racist) or not (ie of universal benevolence). They do not care if the UK's population is changing radically. They do not care about the future. And that was 1980. Why react now in 2024 to something that has been going on for more than 44 years ?
The conduct of the Labour Parliamentary Party during this parliament was just abysmal. The backdrop to this speech was just a cacophony of near-berserk incoherence. She really did get under their skin. Lived in their heads rent-free.
Mr Alex Lyon was a dumbphuque, wasn't he! Clearly lived under a rock.
Thank you so much for this wonderful high quality presentation
The worst thing you can do is do nothing...............sad so sad.
Brilliant channel
If a British man was born in India, he did not suddenly become Indian. He was kicked out just the same.
I think who have never heard of anglo indians
Thank you for the Enoch Powell material. Unfortunately people cannot deal with the facts. Too late now. Even Germany has finally allowed itself to awaken.
Britain should be on its knees asking forgiveness for what was done to him. A true British Hero!
If this country had have listed to Enoch powell our country would not be destroyed by foreigners if white british people don't stand up now we are over
Interestingly, Powell's attitude towards surrender was identical to that adopted by many German officers of the Wehrmacht, who opined that the coming world post-World War 2 would not be worth living in...
We could really do with him now everything he said has come true god help us
I will never forget Mrs Thatcher's voice even in moments of national emergency...her voice was clear, strong, unwavering and always deeply intelligent and well thought out. A brilliant speaker....
1,000% correct. RIP Enoch! You are better off out of modern England, wherever you are.........
Hearing Nazi Germany being described as Satanic hits hard. Thank you for taking me on a journey, Mr. Powell. Mr. Wood thank you for facilitating.
Enoch Powell 🙏
You could not make it up. Government bottling the actual decisions that need making. Cowards. Enoch was one of the last group of politicians that gave a shit.
This guy is a true englishman i do with all my❤totally respect this man not enough of these guys about in this current time
Great British hero.
Went into the army on the same day as my dad.
