I like this video, it shows a lot of details. As a person who makes videos about bootleg figures and compares them to the original, I can say that there are many differences between them, most important is to check if the figure you plan to buy has a bootleg, or just to buy from the right sites

Frozen is not included in the Princess line because they outsell the Princess line in terms of merch and toys. That's why Anna and Elsa aren't in the official Princess line-up. Plus canonically one is a queen and one is an entirely new spirit/elemental personification lol

I used to have fakes, I got rid of 99% of them, I have 3 SAO fakes, as they were my first ones, and the series I collect (and Miku) the most of! I also have a fake Super Saiyan Goku figure, a large kinda soft one, again, I'm only keeping it as he was my first figure ever, back in 2015! :). I now only buy from actual Anime stores, I have bought from eBay, as ik what to look for, tho I'm definitely going to get away from buying from eBay, unless it's like, a very exclusive one or something! :D.

It's annoying for me because nowadays I try to only buy the official release. Back when I was really getting into anime, I was still in high school and pirated everything onto DVD-R discs due to a lack of disposable income. So now, I periodically try to replace my pirated copies from back then with the official versions as the market allows. Paying money to replace a bootleg with what ends up being just a nicer looking bootleg, makes me want to break things lol

Japanese people don’t need you to understand the comedy of Japan. Like I don’t understand how you can make a career reacting to videos and taking credit of other peoples hard work.

I grew up with the first Kilala Princess manga volume when I was 7. I got the first volume at the Downtown Disney book store they used to have. Unfortunately I don’t have it right now but I hold on to the memories of going to the store, and reading it for years before my mom gave it away when I was older. At the time I got the book I didn’t know it was a manga book. I really want this book again.

Honestly I don't 100% hate the idea of buying a bootleg dvd, mostly if I can't get the anime physically on dvd otherwise, but the one I wish I hadn't accidentally gotten bootleg was Parasyte. It's in my top three anime now and some of the final episodes in the dvd show banners that are from random anime websites, so I'm pretty sure they either downloaded the episodes from there or screen recorded lmao I need to go on the hunt to replace it with an official release

One thing that is also very interesting is that Australia is actually the only country where Japan took an Australian book series and made an anime from it. No other country has had that treatment and that anime was the Deltora Quest anime.

I have a question: There's another youtuber who reviews hot toys figures and other things but every now and then he reviews "unlicensed" figures and he always puts up a big warning at the start of the video like he's saying "hey you can buy this but just be warned, it's unlicensed" I asked him about it twice and both times he gave me frustratingly vague answers like he's covering his tracks or something. And this question has been living rent-free in my brain for the last week. So what's the deal if you review/recommend an unlicensed product is there some liability there?

Used to really get miffed about getting a bootleg, but now I've embraced them and include them in my collection. I've come to appreciate the uniqueness that bootlegs are in artwork etc

The design of the last figure is Syaro dressed and acting as "Phantom Thief Lapin", a character from an anime from a book written by Aoyama Blue Mountain in the third season of "Is the Order a Rabbit?". The fun thing is that "Phantom Thief Lapin" is actually based on Syaro herself, and she had to learn how to act as "Lapin" to impress children at the cafè where she works...😂
