We are currently in Asheville NC taking some time off to decide what's next. Plans have changed, hurricane Helene has given us pause and our world is wide open right now. Life is a little boring at the moment, we'll be back soon.
Much love,
Trevor, Michele, Angus and Mellow.

WOW the River Arts District is AMAZING along with some life stuff.
Join us as we explore the vibrant River Arts District in Asheville, NC where Michele may have been encouraged to start her love for art again! We have a fun meet-up with friends in downtown Asheville for the lively drum circle and grab a bite to eat. You'll also meet Trevor's friend Kurt, who traveled from Venice, Florida, to participate in a pickleball tournament in Black Mountain, NC. Lastly, we spend a relaxing day at Carrie Park, enjoying the beautiful scenery. Hope you hang out with us for this adventure!

@@EasyE-s5j we are thanks. We are south of Asheville where we didn’t get flooded. We don’t have power or gas so we’re just waiting it out. It’s bad in places, we were very lucky. ❤️
Hey, just checking on you guys up there during the flood, hopefully you are OK, post an update. We got alot of flooding here in swfl as well.
@@tracyh2421 Hey!! We are okay. We’re about 30 minutes south of Asheville. The apartment we are renting didn’t get any flooding at all in our area. We’ve got devastation all around us. It’s so sad. Hey guys, I'm in the Venice, Englewood area, I'm renting and I'm upstairs and my jeep is fine thankfully. I'm about 10 minutes from manasota Beach, there is quite abit of damage to my favorite beach stump pass. Very sad to see also homes in the area of beach rd, harborview, gulf rd. Gobs of sand like filling up pools even. Ugh. However I was at the beach the day after, I'm a plant based beach bum, so I typically get my acai smoothie and go pick up litter, read and shark tooth. @@trevorandmichele yes i love it here. I'm Muslim so i think that makes a big difference, but its not like a super strict country. They dont bother tourists, just for money but just like 2am on the main street, but just problems of any major city, only here at least theyre not all on fentanyl and meth like USA major cities now. The weather here is perfect for me, 60 during day in winter the low, high of 85 average in summer, mostly dry, nature close by, see spain from my apartment, paying 500 a month furnished. I worked out deal w my airbnb host. All depends your priorities. I wanted cannabis friendly area, they grow most the hash in africa and eurasia in mountains next to Tangier, safe, its 3x safer than usa, especially downtowns of cities way safer, families out at 12 1 am still walking around en masse, more culture, it goes back to Phoenicians here, affordable, everythinig is half to 4x as cheap as usa. I was very nervous before i left, after being here within a day that went away. Keep some guard up but dont let anyone step on your LIghts, its your happiness not theirs, anyone hating is 99.999% only just jealous. Its ok for 50 million illegals to come to USA? But we cannot migrate legally and put our money into other economies and benefit them? ignore all haters let them rot in their despair. be your own main characters, Trevor sounds solid, lean on him, you dont need to do all his masculine roles, but still keep your head on a swivel when outside until you understand their culture more. No gangs in morocco, just one big mafia, its great. Dont even need to carry a knife around.
I hope you can adjust to the high humidity in Thailand. The pictures do not completely tell a true story. But if you come from Florida or any area with high humidity in summer you may be able to tolerate the weather. Thailand is very hospitable but you do need to get Medical and Dental insurance to cover globally while travel.
Thank you so much for commenting. I am hoping living in the humid summers of Florida has somewhat prepared us for the heat. We have learned loose cotton clothing and staying in the A/C from 1-3 so we don't melt. Also, thanks for the medical and dental tip, we did hear that on some random video. Do you live in Thailand? i lived in thailand for the last 7 years. it is not all roses. there are several annoyances and obstacles to deal with daily within thai culture. don't have high, dreamlike expectations. there are benefits to living here but there are also headaches.
Thanks for the comments. We have friends there and they tell us what’s up. I mean, it’s not perfect anywhere in the world. If there was, we’d all be there. We want the adventure, we want to experience the culture, we want a break from this way of life. Just a change, ya know. Will it be permanent? We don’t know yet. We just know Thailand is first on the list right now. Our dreamlike expectations of Thailand is the exotic fruit experience we’ll have for half the price we have here in the states. What are some of the things you hate/love being there? We’re still researching and know, there’s not a perfect place. ❤️❤️ thanks so much for letting us know though, we do sometimes get caught up in the turquoise water thinking “paradise.” ~Michele ❤️❤️
I would love to know a few of the annoyances if you could share.
There are certain aspects of Thai culture that drive me mad. The concept of losing face is one of them. Carrying a high rep in Thailand is ultra important at the cost of logic, sanity and authenticity. These people Deeply care about what others think of each other and are ultra sensitive to it regardless if it they are guided by genuine self conduct. It tends to promote a superficial type of culture - think "keeping up with the jonses" on steroids. Got to show off what you have on social media at every opportunity to show others that you are making it, etc. I will share more later...
@@trevorandmichele Immigration hassles can be rough as well. There are no set rules at immigration centers regarding visas. The immigration agents operate with a certain level of autonomy so the visa game may be different from one location or agent to another. More later...
I'm enjoying the Venice area with my cat, I don't spend much money either and I've donated allot of stuff to goodwill and other animal rescue thrifts here. But, I still have a ton of stuff in storage and need to go through it is really tough when someone passes away to get rid of things. As far as your dogs go, my gut is telling me that leaving them with his parents for your first trip is the safest way to go. That way once you go, you'll know if you like it and if you feel safe there etc that's such a long flight for them.
So glad you are loving Venice with your cat, cats are awesome!! We've been through the move several times and it took each time to donate more stuff until we've gotten to where we are now. I understand parting with a loved ones things. I had three big quilts that has been in my family (Michele) for a long time. I knew taking them to thailand would be silly so I posted them in a small Facebook group and found homes for them. I don't know what that made me feel better about parting with them. Take it one day at a time and maybe even photograph some of the items before finding new homes. We get attached to things and it's sometimes so hard to let them go. I have a shirt that my momma wore and a few other things and that's it and I cherish them. I think the dogs will stay with Trevor's parents, it will be safer for them. They need an airplane for fur children!!! Thanks so much for watching!!♥
They part at 58 seconds where it zooms out and there's a second Trevor is like "whaaaaaaaa"
I know! he always has that look when I'm talking. haha!!!
You can have it all, early retirement is a new trend and it's a good one (per my experience and I am 53). I hate to tell you guys, you need to leave dogs to a family or find good people and move on. I know you love them so much, but your travel may not be good for dogs. Start Traveling!!! I've been all around the world, you need to see it, there are so many beautiful places. I like the USA as a country to make money....only. In terms of the quality of living, healthcare, food it is not a cool place anymore. Overrated, expensive and ...pretty boring (don't kill me for that). I am in Belarus right now, seeing better doctors than in the USA. I always had health insurance. Our US dentists have lost their marbles with the high prices and low quality of their work! The regular doctors overseas are Rx comprehensive! blood tests to make sure they're on the right path to treat you. I am getting to see in the US only a nurse practitioner (with or without health insurance) who knows nothing. The process is long , expensive and not effective. There are many countries with good, fast, inexpensive healthcare. Variety and quality of food, the cheaper price make it attractive as well. I don't recommend doing AIRBNB since it is not a passive income. There are too many expenses plus non-stop communications with your always changing rentals. They will rather ask you instead of Google it. As an owner of several properties, I've calculated for several years and came to a favor of the annual rent. This is one of many ways to get easy passive income. I wish you the best and to finally get out of the country to see the World. Check out Portugal, Hungary, Spain, Italy as well.
We're thinking we'll airbnb our house that will live in for just the winters while we're gone. Just a little money instead of it being vacant. I don't want the hassle to be honest and we might not do it if we can get a business going online. OMG the dentist here are smoking something because just to get your teeth cleaned you have to have soooo much crap done!! LIKE JUST CLEAN MY TEETH. nope!!! We started going to the school of dentistry which was cheaper but not by much. I (michele) have never been comfortable with putting the dogs on the flight, I just can't do it to them. Trevors parents will spoil them while we take mini trips. We are still up in the air with how we'll do this. Even being in Thailand having the dogs will be unfair to them going from one spot to another, I think anyway. Portugal is definitely on our list, we have friends that just left FL for Portugal and they love it. We'll hopefully figure something out. Hope ya'll are doing well and thanks for the comment!! gives us something to think about.
So true about living today because we’re not promised tomorrow. You are definitely living life to the fullest I admire that. I saw Trevor once outside a coffee shop in Wellen Park was gonna say hello but he was so tall I was intimidated went in the other direction! Keep the great videos coming of all your adventures.

OHHH I wish you would have said hello. He never meets a stranger, everyone is an instant friend with him. He's big and tall but super super sweet. Congratulations on your exciting adventure. I’ve been watching your channel for a while and it’s been weighing on my mind to say, please consider not taking your dogs on a 25 hour flight. It gets hot under there and the air doesn’t circulate well. They put the luggage in the same area as the dogs. Not a good situation.
Thank you sooo much. I’m so not thrilled about taking them, that’s why I’m leaning more toward short trips and letting Trevor’s parents spoil them while we’re away. I would be a nervous wreck with them under there. I swear our dogs get mad when we pick them up, that’s how much they love them. ❤️❤️ thanks for watching.

@@BourbonCruiser Thank you so much for watching. These fur kids are the reason we're in Asheville now. It was so hot to travel with them ANND I just can't wrap my head around putting them in cargo. They absolutely LOVE their grandparents and we are waiting until they can move here to babysit while we take small adventures. Neither of them are clingy dogs so they don't miss us when we're not here. Mellow loves her crate, she hates it with the door closed so I just can't do it to her. If it were a short trip MAYBE. It took me 8 years just to leave them alone for us to go on a short trip. THEY DIDN'T MISS US AT ALL. LOL

Once again making every town you are in look awesome. Here I thought Venice was the place to be but now I’m rethinking it when you show mountains and lakes and cool downtowns. You are very good with the way you show the areas. Keep up the good work.
haha we've had a few people rethink the area. We love them both for very different reasons. We do miss the beach but the streams and the mountains are somehow majestic, and the downtown is so alive. I dunno how to describe it. I know we are definitely in the honeymoon phase of Asheville, but it's wonderful. Oooh, just noticed the beautiful color in you hair, Michele, as the light caught it. I like Trevor's hair, too, but I have the same kind of hair, so it's not novel to me. And I know how hard it is to get the knots out. I make like a sailor and wet the rope before I untie it, so to speak.
My Hair! I have a love hate relationship with this stringy mop, but thank you. I was in the sun way too much in florida and it's so fried. oooof Trevor and his knots. I told him I was going to buy him a sleeping cap!!! I'd give anything for that kind of hair though, all those curls. ♥
Did you know that the RaceTrac gas stations in FL sell boiled peanuts? Cajun and regular.
NOW WAY!!! we had no idea. well then!! lol
Oh man, I remember the five and dime from waaay back when. I miss luncheonettes and soda fountains, and right about now I could go for a Brooklyn egg cream! No egg, no cream: 1/4 cup milk, 4 tablespoons thick chocolate syrup, stir with a fork (for better "mixage") while filling the glass (a milkshake glass) with club soda. Thanks for taking us around with you. The food looked fabulous. I can hear that papadum crunch!

Call him anytime with any questions you might have. You can text and email as well. 941 307 9272 trevordre@gmail.com He'll be happy to help you out. ♥
You guys need to check out Hendersonville. It’s Ashevilles pretty little sister. Besides Hendersonville, there are so many great towns around Asheville to explore within an hour drive.
Thanks for the tip. WE do need to check it out, we are not far from there. When we first got to town we stayed in Fletcher but I don't think we went that way. It's so cool how each direction you go you'll bump into these little towns. We love it and will definitely go there to wander around. 😎
You two at the gym are hilarious! Love it.
I think he was stalking me. 💪🏽
Love your videos! If you are still in the area come fall you will LOVE the color of the leaves and Asheville in the winter...well let's just say you will more than likely have snow! :)
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WATCHING!! I am soooooooo READY for the fall. In florida we have a couple trees that will actually change colors and I would stalk them come Sept/October. That's what I have missed so much is the changing of the leaves. SNOW?? I'm still trying to grasp that one. I'm not going to lie, I would LOVE to see some snow fall, I just don't want to be cold. LOL We are hoping to be heading out before the snow happens but a little part of me wants to stay. Trevor use to live in Michigan and he says he'd be fine if he never saw it again.
I’ve waited all week for the Trevor and Michelle video! Yay!
AWWE THANK YOU! It was a smash up of just nothing really. We've been so busy not being busy if that makes any sense. Looking at houses, trying to figure out life, what to do. It's all fun tho and it usually works itself out after I stress it for no reason. In good time things happen and we have to be patient, I have zero patience. lol
@@trevorandmichele it’s beautiful to watch life unfold. God bless you both.
@@annieaviles4760 thank you sooo much!!! (❤️)
I am so enjoying your new adventures! I have followed you for several years now. I did have an interest in relocating from the mid west to Sarasota when my daughter was living there, but she has moved back here, so my moving there no longer made any sense. About four years ago, I had visited a good friend who had moved to Asheville. It is a truly beautiful area. The overall vibe is Magical. She loves it. As a very talented musician (saxophone and violin) she is in several bands and plays lots of local gigs. You may see her from time to time. I wish you both well, and also further clarification of your goals. Take care.
Thanks for still watching us even though you're not moving. I know you are so thrilled she moved back home. Isn't it magical!? THAT'S THE WORD I've been searching for! It just has a feeling that is so hard to describe, you just smile and you don't know why!! What's her name, I will ask every person who is playing either instrument. LOL Such a musical artsy town here, I just can't believe I've never been until now. You take as well. ♥♥
Do you guys not do real estate in Florida anymore?
Hey hey!!! Trevor is still licensed in Florida and we work with a great realtor there if needed. Trevor does travel back and forth to Florida as well. Let us know if we can be any help.
Hey guys been watching you since last year when I was in Michigan, now I'm back in FL in your old neck of the woods. 😊 been plant based over 35 years, went to a vegan Ethiopian pop up in sarasota today yum. Enjoying your nc adventures!
@@tracyh2421 I'm just seeing this for some reason. How's FL? I could use a walk on the beach right now. Wow over 35 years, that is so awesome. I wish I had done it sooner. I've yet to try Ethiopian, Trevor has tried it. Maybe soon I'll find a place. Tons of vegan options here. Thanks for watching, so glad you enjoy the adventures. ♥
