Mercedes-Benz W204 C300 ESL EIS by pass, car does not crank, ESL issue, Electronic Steering Lock
I had an issue one morning that the car did want to start and there was no crank, to find out it is the ESL issue and this video is to show you how to start to move it or get it to the shop to get it fixed.

I did this and the car started, but when I turned off the ignition and tried to start it again, the problem returned again.

This is happening to the models that use that system from around those years, EVERYONE report to NHTSA and to MBUSA, they have to fix this for free or a CLASS action will cost them more

I have a c350 2013, i juste remove the fuse 7.5 amp and put it back and worked. What dose it need to be replaced?
This is a temp solution to get the vehicle to start and take it to the nearest shop for repair, that would only work if the steering wheel is not locked. The ESL needs to be replaced with a new one or you can remove it and program an emulator.

You did not address if the ESL has failed in the lock position, yes you "might" be able to start the car, but you cannot drive it as the steering wheel is locked.

@@nissiaget2itacademy569 dude I left my car at my coworker’s house and then came back the next morning to get it towed but my car turned on with the key and everything was fine lmfao idk how tf it’s even possible but yeah god is good I guess 🤣

My car doesn’t recognize the key. Key turns but doesn’t crank doesn’t make click sound I don’t get any accessory lights.

@@Saj1.02 yes for me it wasn’t my eis. I blown a main fuse for the eis it was under the carpet of dash on passenger side
What kind of Mercedes mine is C300 2010 will look for this main fuse this happened after trying to get a jump I feel it’s a fuse as well

The steering wheel lock , if the steering wheel is locked it won’t start
I believe this only works if your ESL fails in the unlocked position.

9/10 you have to remove your ignition switch and have it connect to an emulator to have it "coded" his video is how to get your car started to get it to shop or somewhere safe if it's not your home parked etc.
Not shorting your car out and going to a mechanic and replacing your ESL.
What kind of relay is that ? Ignition, starter ,or eis or esl?

Fking cover is so hard to take off unless you destroy it. No way shape or form that sh*t coming off easy. No way Jose!

in my experience, manual c300 2008 the first time it happened, i tried jump starting for like half an hour then twisting the wheel and it worked the second time i tried twisting the wheel, jump start, pop start, removing the cover of the relay and removing and putting the 7.5 thingy back into the fuse box like this video and it didn’t work… our mechanic said to “just wait and keep trying”-had to get it towed back home and the next morning, it worked again after a jump start. both times it would just say “take the key out of the ignition” with no other lights on and it wouldn’t crank. i really don’t know what the issue is :/ i just had to let it rest

I got the car to turn over but the shifter won’t move anyone have any ideas ?
Pop shifter cover off and there is a yellow button in there. Push down on yellow button and shifter will be free
Yes, you need to push down the yellow button (with a pen) and move to D or R while holding down... Yellow button under the leather shifter cover, just pull up or use yr emergency key (inside yr remote key) as a lever to lift the leather our

So the dealership replaced my battery and that I guess fixed it for me.@@lxcki9290
@@Saj1.02 I did not, the battery was replaced and it has been fine ever since.

What happens if you keep doing this with out fixing it ?
You’re risking to lock the steering while driving or while its parked. This is only temporary fix at your own risk to move the vehicle to the nearest shop.

Hi Habibi 😂, it worked for me like a charm. My mechanic said to take it to dealership, could be an Ignition switch . I called the dealer and it was $1250 for swit hours and $750 for starter motor. Tomorrow, I am going to dealer and will just buy the fuse block. Stay blessed 🙌
Did it work just by replacing the fuse block?
@MrVampiro82 No, I cut it and press the button to start the cat, it worked temporarily, do it once or get someone to take out and re-program ESL . Else you have to replace starter motor, if you do it too many times
