It felt good being able to take another one with the Alstom Motor back to the hotel.

Filming Date: 13 December 2024 TRN: 5165 I wanted to record the whole joyride till Wangsimni where I transfer to Line 5.. but my camera did not have enough storage again.. It's another peaceful ride! I love the heated and cushioned seats. The heaters underneath only turn on during the winter. The newer trains don't even have a cushioned seat.

I wanted to ride it so I decided to board this fella to City Hall to intercept it.. it was fun.. at the same time I was glad to clear this Snake Eyed train. Filming Date: 12 December 2024 TRN: 2307 Lol the TC set the TRN incorrectly as 3307. I missed the Line 2 so much.. so glad to be back on it. The traction motor sounds a bit like the KSF trains.. or maybe it's a low pitch version of the J151? This train also has a new TV screen above the doors installed last year while the other side is the system map. It displays ads and news. Quite useful.

there are also 5 korail trains on this line retiring soon. they are korail class 341000 trains that are using toshiba gto-vvvf (only set 26 uses igbt vvvf)
that’s because line 2 (the newest train) uses Toshiba IGBT-VVVF (with Hyundai Rotem OEM). also there are 3rd gen trains operating as well.

fyi non of the AC/DC sets uses alstom gto-vvvf. all were mitsubishi gto-vvvf originally. some of them got replaced with dawonsys igbt-vvvf or woojin igbt-vvvf.

line 1 has some v old rheostatic control trains (111-116) some cars date back to 1989 (many old trains' individual cars have different ages). also u can check out the line 5-8 old trains, the line 5 (501-576 wif 501-525 decommissioned alr) trains have ABB gto-vvvf sounds abit like c651, line 8 still has some remaining (801-815) wif alstom gto-vvvf. Overall, the old trains on the network up till 2000 were built (often jointly) by Hyundai Precision and Industries, Daewoo Heavy Industries and Hanjin Heavy Industries.
This train built by Woojin Industrial Systems. Btw did u sit the dawonsys trains on the seoul metro? (eg 206-213 line 2, 316-320 line 3 and 450-470 line 4? they sound alot like t251 motor. Also can check out the old line 4 trains (401-426) with the mitsubishi/alstom gto-vvvf howls b4 they are all gone

Hi there, CRRC does not make PMSM motors as of now but they are testing it in a few new models of train but they don't sound like this. Yes this does sound similar to a Toshiba PMSM but it's actually CRRC's own IGBT-VVVF without PMSM.
