Sniping Gold from a fractured quartz vein 2022 in Scotland
Gold panning and sniping trip in June 2022 in Scotland. Watch the gold reveal itself. The gold is not within the quartz itself but has become trapped within the fractures as it travelled on the river bed waiting to be discovered

Short air test of the Makro Gold Racer in all metal mode, factory settings with 0.4g, 1.0g and 5.5g gold nuggets Not easy to hear the metal detector sound via the mobile phone microphone but I tried to be as accurate with depths as I could to within an inch or so.

Surf Pi Home Build Metal Detector Testing with Gold Ring
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.9 лет назад
After a bit of tuning managed to get this home made pulsed induction metal detector to pick a gold ring up at between 6 and 7 inches in air. It does seem that the discriminating potentiometer on the board (second one after setting the first to 0 volts) may be better removed and used for tuning the machine to a particular metal with each use. Next part of the project is to add an audio oscillato...

Hello, I made the device myself, but the problem is that it does not give me the same sensitivity and the same sound

Hi. Thanks for reaching out. I have seen the same problem with a couple of circuit boards sent to me from a friend and changed chips and checked the soldering under a magnifying glass. Never got to the root cause unfortunately. I have found the board mounted potentiometers can fail so my first suggestion would be to replace to test them.

@@lablackmohammedbilal3868 I have found that can happen with different piezo buzzers. I use lower voltage rated ones if I remember correctly which can make a difference. Try measuring the output voltage on your buzzer with a voltmeter and see what you are getting then change the piezo to match it. I think I use 5v one on mine

Hello, I live in Alaska and I have Gold Jewelry Nuggets by a person name J.Eggert. The Jewelry Stamps say Atiln wich has brought me to you tube. This Jewelry has been passed down through 4 generations and I would love to know if anyone may know this Jeweler. I' was told by my Grandmother that the Jewelry was the only thing left after his house burned down. This story has been told for 4 generations and I would love to know more if possible?

I've used it mainly for field detecting and not used in anger. Generally finding old coins, bits of farm machinery and occasionally old railway engine parts on fields by a railway. Not used it for nugget detecting as haven't sought permission on or around rivers with them. It's not great on beach sand as there is too much interface from the salt water and I use a pulsed induction machine for beaches

Perhaps is to late for a comment, but, I`m still wandering if those nuggets near the coil where not interfering with the signal.

Shouldn't do as the detector responds to the moving object. I have tested some gold burried in my garden and the detection depth is even better. Can't rule it out I guess.

Manuel D. Ferreras G. I should update this with my latest coil. I found the coil could be any shape or size but always tended to need around 19 - 20 turns of wire. My latest coil will pick up a 6g gold nugget at 7 inches

Manuel D. Ferreras G. I'll check for you. I tried different diameter wire but overall it did not make much difference as long as I tuned the multimeter with the potentiometer to 0 volts.

    • @caledonianprospector1412

Just to follow up. The wire size I most prefered for these coils after testing a few different sizes was 0.45 mm 26 SWG copper. Its robust enough to hold its shape
