The classic R10-yacht s/y Aaworyn was constructed by Sophus Weber according to the second R-yacht rule in 1919 and built at his Shipyard Gamle Hestehauge in 1923 in Svendborg, Denmark. The total length is 16.84 m, the width is 3.48 m, the depth is 2.2 m, and the sail area is 129 m2. The hull is built of oak with mahogany freeboards with pine below the waterline and Oregon pine deck.

I love a long keeled sailboat!
Nice and calm footage of your summer journey on your Allegro 27. I've been sailing this summer Southern England, Irland, Isle of Man and Wales and back via the Solent, Belgium, Netherlands to East Friesian North Sea Coast on my Allegro 27. These Allegros are amazing cruising boats for short handed sailing. Ghosting along in virtually no wind as well as smothly cutting through 10 foot waves in a gale without giving an unsecure feeling.

I'm sailing in Sweden right now in November ^^;; -- I saw your latest video, beautiful sailboat and it was going fast!, but the comments are turned off because it's "for kids" -- you should turn that off because "for kids" is a special restricted category (it does not mean kid friendly, it's a bit confusing)

I love the feeling when the boat picks up speed and you feel the rudder starting to vibrate slightly. The Allegro 27 feels so organic when under sail!

Sie ist unglaublich seetüchtig, sie segelt in den richtigen Händen flott, sie ist schön und harmonisch proportiniert und erfreut damit Auge und Herz ihrer Eigner. Sie kann im Grunde genommen alles, was man von einer bescheidenen Segelyacht erwarten kann. Ich habe jetzt eine Allegro27 von 1977 an Schwedens Ostküste gekauft. Anfang Juni geht sie zu Wasser, und ich werde sie nach Hause segeln und für die nächsten 15-20 Jahre gut auf sie aufpassen, weite Reisen mit ihr unternehmen, um sie dann an jemanden weiter zu geben, der sie genauso schätzt, wie ich.

I'm not the boat owner but yes, you are correct. It's an old trick that works well. No clue what they use as weights, but anything heavy-ish should do.
Looks like about 20 knots of wind. Heaving to looks like a good technique for cooking at sea or changing the roler genoa to a smaler gib as a single hander

That’s the anti-rolling damper used during anchoring when wind and waves come from different directions. It’s a 1/2 m2 triangular plate with a weight underneath 2 m under the surface. Very effective!

It sailed very well, how does it compared to a Nordic Folkboat at a similar size?
Yes, Nordic Folkboat is also a good sailboat and with new sails and experienced crew it can sail very fast similar to Allegro in certain cases.
@@marma66 I am looking at Allegro 27 and Folkboat but it is harder to find a good Folkboat in GRP in my region. There is one Allegro build in 1969 which I have to inspect later, hope it is as nice as yours!
