The engineer couldn’t get it to stop until he remembered Spock saying “Have you disengaged the external inertial dampener?“ But seriously, it’s like the egg toss game when you’re far apart from the person throwing so you have to immediately lower your hand on contact with the egg allowing just enough slack to complete the catch instead of catching it stiff armed where it would break.
“Tamak, the river Tamak, in winter!”
Unless I have been adjudicated insane or incompetent I can refuse any medical treatment that I want in every single state of the United States of America
OMG. guys. It's been a rough several months. I've been catching up on y'all's Discovery episodes lately. Keeps me distracted from life, yet inspired. Thank you dorks ❤
I know my name is Steven. The real kid in the story had a brother who grew up to be a serial killer.
That's it! Thanks for the correction and the added info!
Instead of using the phaser, wouldn't it have been easier to use the neck pinch?
Both men & women were enslaved i dont know why women are always Portrayed as victims in every regard im honestly annoyed with that, rarely do i ever see women being portrayed as brutal dictators or evil queens anymore, we live in a strange era where all women must be Portrayed as heroes against barbaric creepy, misoggonist men & this idea that only men can hate & only men have Power is woke nonsense & Revisionist history.
28:28 I always figured that the fish was holographic
That would make sense, it's funny that they didn't consider suggesting that at the time! Maybe there was a Boatswain's Mate who was in charge of managing the feeding of the fish and we missed out on all sorts of lower decks type shenanigans involving keeping the fish alive, culminating in them installing a hologram after it dies.
@@ItsGotStarTrek I came up with the explanation because I hate Captain Jellico and that's what I wanted him to be told when he said get that fish out of there
😂
Men like hot chicks in skimpy clothes. It is no more complicated than that. I never felt an agenda being pushed on me when I watched shows like this. The agenda was to get viewers.
The idea that only women were enslaved by default is a agenda.
The Invisible man has every thing pass through or around him Yet can see ! It's just science ( magic ) dont overthink it. It's more interesting to have good writers than good scientists on a tv show
100%!
Why did LeVar Burton's head get shaved according to jonathan frakes?
41:23 My issue with cloaking devices has always been that if you are able to render yourself undetectable by the electromagnetic spectrum, how do you use the electromagnetic spectrum to see other people? The cloaking device should work both ways.
Yeah, there is a lot that seems problematic about cloaking devices, which is then exacerbated when you introduce the idea of cloaking particles! Particles?!? Still, the visual gag of Trip missing a hand is funny.
@@ItsGotStarTrek oh yeah I try not to ever hold any logic against the show. It's basically fantasy but instead of lame Wizards and princesses we get spaceships and laser beams. I love Star Trek too much to care about the little crap
This week, the crew gets together to pull off a caper, and that caper is a heist! 🥷💰 #heist #crewgoals
😂
Uhura wears a bare midriff outfit in the TOS episode Mirror Mirror so they were paying homage to that I think.
Great podcast guys!! You do a great review and make it funny. Perfect balance. And you guys actually care.
"WHAT'RE YOU STARING AT!? I HAD EVER RIGHT TO BUY THIS HOUSE!" "then he can Use My SLICKER" "DONT TOUCH MY SISTERRR BLAAAAAAARRRRRRRG"
It is now 4:20 PDT.❇️🪴✳️
No one is sad that Disco is ending- some of series 4 episodes were simply unwatchable
You look because you're a man, not a soy addled child.
Anyone immediately think of Rick & Morty Froopyland vibes once it's revealed the head guy was someone abandoned in a fantasy land?
Now that you mention it, you are right!

49:30 I have always linked the car scene from Pulp Fiction with this scene from deep space nine. I am so happy to know I am not the only one
37:16 Cassidy doesn't get paid. She is a citizen of the federation, a society without money, the reason she is delivering medical supplies to the Marquis is that, she feels they need it. Kasidy Yates is the person acting for the cause not Michael Eddington
Just now binging SNW and had to seek you guys out for a quality discussion on this episode. 16:45. Consider this. Remember when Spock claimed he was teasing Chapel about not understanding the human adge of "what are friends for?" He did the whole "I understood, i was just teasing you" routine. Perhaps a writer of the show pulled that trick off with his wife & now invokes that tactic in his characters. "Gets em every time. Ohhh, Alex, you are such a smooth criminal." as he checks his look in the mirror.
Thanks for the compliment! As for your theory, that certainly is plausible, or at least may be a part of the "fresh flirtation" algorithm in some writers' minds 😂
"Who is Hoshi", thud "Ahh" What a BOP
😂🎵🎷
I'm curious, what microphone do you guys use?
We each use Shure SM7Bs!
I like that they keep him around through the rest of the series too, and everyone else is just able to figure out his Temarianisms (Ransom even uses one at one point).
I was looking for something to chill to. By happen stance, I rewatched Q Who over a week ago. It was between this or a review vid of the Man In the High Castle.
Green @$$ babe twitch 😱 😆
I don't think Mestral stayed THAT long. I believe Gary 7 and Roberta Lincoln helped him get back home to Vulcan. Wasn't Gary 7 in Section 13?
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz boring, BS . at least show some voyager, not your comments and click bait crap. *disliked*
There are four lights.
Deeply silly pod 😄 Nice post Thanksgiving Voyager breakdown. Coherence and consistency in Voyager is always ridiculous👍
When did Riker kiss Tapol
Riker messing with "frozen" T'pol in that episode always made me chuckle. lol
What episode was that
"These Are the Voyages..."
The hamsters were big hamsters. Troi was solid white and Riker was that kind of traditional sable hamster type? They were sweet. The only other thing I would have said about the episode was how at the time the producers were calling it a "valentine to the fans". Yeah that shit was not a Valentine. It was a big FU.
Your point about the "valentine to the fans" is spot on - Braga and Berman were so dense as to not realize they were insulting the fans of the show they were producing in their attempt to please some fans of a show that had not only been off the air for 11 years but that had gotten it's own wonderful series finale!
First! Love hearing about Trek. Once upon a time, being the IP holder gave absolute power over a franchise. That day is done. If the IP holder insists on not bringing out new content or bringing out garbage content, we can now make our own. I invite all my fellow Trekkers to enjoy another unauthorized novel completely free. Just google Star Trek Lost Destiny Race.
"whatever the reasons are"? ooo "..study conducted between 1932 and 1972 by the United States Public Health Service (PHS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) ..to observe the natural history of untreated syphilis ..African-American men who participated in the study were told that they were receiving free health care..": en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuskegee_Syphilis_Study
Don't forget that Ransom studied Tamarian at the Academy! My initial reaction when he said that was, "That's so cool of the guy!" but thinking it over for a few seconds I realized that it meant he was probably trying to bone some Tamarian babe.
That's right, totally forgot about Ransom's experience with Tamarian. Excellent point!
I was so angry over Trip and Starfleet when this happened I mean you wanted a transfer for your personal issues and again you want it back, that's ridiculous.
Also I have a question why they didn't make a series with Colombia after Enterprise was over with Captain Hernandez cause it'd have been a very good series like Voyager with a female captain.
Damn I wanna go to the Mirror universe 🤪
Hello friends good to see you here.
I now know 'shaka when the walls fell' as "well, you can't win them all"
It means failure. But yeah it can be used in that context too. Didn't think of that
