Student-builders from seven southeast Iowa high schools descended on Carl A. Nelson & Company's warehouse and yard on Oct. 17, 2024, for the construction firm's eighth annual High School Skills Challenge. The students used woodworking, welding and other skills they learned in school and combined them with teamwork and time management ability to build shop carts they can use in their industrial technology classrooms.
