StarCraft 2 Campaign is GOOD, actually

In this video, I reflect on my journey with the StarCraft franchise, specifically the StarCraft 2 campaign. After revisiting the entire series, I was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable and engaging the experience remains, even after many years. I discuss the well-crafted gameplay, memorable storylines, and the impact of player choices, while also exploring the possibility of alternative endi...

      TELL THAT TO BLIZZARD! They've put her next to Artanis on the Campaign section of the StarCraft 2 Client. How Am I supposed to differentiate between a MISSION PACK and a CAMPAIGN. On its release it cost $15 just for the 9 missions alone! If you ask me that's a pretty fine price for something that could've been named campaign! But I digress! Tell me, though what is exactly the difference between a Campaign and (3) Mission Packs? I would gladly change the thumbnails if you explain it.

    You should respond with more hate in the comments... Nerdslayer studios gave a good example the last few days... Things to do: -curse at viewers giving normal critisism -not giving sources -requesting sources for claims you made -making a giant meldown post -telling people to join your discord to "argue", but you really just ban them If you start to do these things, you can make your interactions with your community like a 400k youtuber ;) jokes aside, a actually well made video and a really good watch! you at least got my sub, have a nice day

    I like the script/subject of this video, but the audio quality is pretty bad. There's so much movement between the speaker and microphone throughout it, it really highlights the importance of "multiple takes" and editing/balancing audio

    • @WGSeries
      @WGSeries 20 дней назад

      I would have to agree with your view. Maybe I needed to run the narration through audacity and see if that might have improved the quality. I guess in a sense, that gives the vid a bit more casual vibe, less professional, more flawed but certain authenticity and uniqueness or at the very least difference. Similar to a real talk sometimes you can't quite hear what the other person is saying clearly - that forces your brain to think of what was said more. It forces more brain power, thus pain - unpleasent experience -> forcing you to write that comment. We are accustomed to the high quaility professional setups from other big youtubers that we are entitled to level of quality everywhere on youtube. We assume, perceive that has to be the norm, standard everywhere. With that said, I think the narration could be executed better but still find a way to have the uniquness in there. As an another person said, sounding like an AI reading a script. But it a sense that counters your argument, because of nothing else, the good AI narration has distinct and clear audio quality and its easy to understand, but lacks emotion and depth. Ironically, I tried in this video to put more emotion in my narration (to not sound robotic), that made me move away from the mic, thus causing poorer sound quality. P.S. If you have to do it right, It ain't easy I can tell you that much at least. I am still in the trial and error phase. P.S.2 Bouncing between just a casual rant from a friend in discord vibe of a vid and a scripted/edited B-roll, sound, effects,transitions effort made vid. Had to find that balance, that middle ground.

      @@WGSeries Yeah, it can be difficult to know how you sound without a second speaker pointed back at you for feedback (like what musicians on-stage will often do). I think the script/subject of the video turned out well. Not really sure what your 'thesis' is for the video, but it seems to follow a logical flow from origins, evolution, and 'where we are today'. For future videos: it might be as simple as making sure you're around the same distance from your microphone while recording, or breaking up a script into lines/chapters so if one section comes out undesirably it can be easier to flag that for another take/redo. Some people just like moving their hands/head when speaking, so a 'pop filter' for a standing mic, or a 'clip-on' microphone if you want to retain that mobility might be worth looking into.

    • @WGSeries
      @WGSeries 20 дней назад

      @@D00ml0rdKazzak yo, thanks for the feedback. First, about the thesis. Your take is good enough. You can just see it as a retrospective story of the StarCraft Franchise. The thesis itself is hidden in the thumbnail + title combo. The once king of eSports SC, currently being forgotten and irrelevant (in the big picture). StarCraft sitting on a throne on the left and then SC2 being "dead" - the popular "ded gaem" meme that the community had used since forever from 2011-2012 onwards (the decline in viewership and players leaving for League and Dota) Second, about the narration. Yep, this was actually my first time reading the script while I am standing up and I was moving my head and hands around to mimic if I was doing some kind of a speech, an experiment of a sort. So that, it would allow me to put some more emotion and "aliveness" maybe into it. Compared to my other videos, I think the effect is better, but there are some weaknesses to work upon. I'll take a look at the options you're suggesting and may be in the future I might do an upgrade but for now I am sticking to my current setup. I'll try to make it a bit clearer for next vids if there are any :) thx again and take care!

    i dont understand why all the fuss? companies will get away with what consumers allow it to get away with, and if the masses look for microtranzactions, than that's whats delivered. RTS has it small loyal fanbase that have a fantastic game to play, i play SC2 every day almost and im very happy with the game. Also Stormgate is developed by a lot of sc2 developers, its good to have alternatives.

    • @WGSeries
      @WGSeries 22 дня назад

      As mentioned in the video, the game is in a great state. It is more or less polished with a lot of the features being well made. It is the best RTS, yet the game's popularity is dwindling. Were you playing in 2010-2012? Those were the golden days for SC2 but not because the game was having its features complete but because everyone was f*cking playing it. Major Tournaments were happening weekly. I forgot to include how stacked they were. It can be seen in the liquidpedia page. So, many people were playing. I vividly remember to this day, Stephano was having more than 10 000 concurrent viewers on twitch on a regular streaming session. He wasn't the only one. StarCraft gave birth of MAINSTREAM eSports and LIVESTREAMING of GAMES. I don't know if people realize how big that WAS. The ripple effect is that we now have ESPORTS term widely used in the gaming sphere... Does The Franchise who made it possible deserves to be in the state it is now? Blizzard forgetting about the game which popularized eSports? They poured $100M+++ money into Overwatch league buying and filling stadiums, yet the game didn't perform because it is NOT organically an eSport. Money CANNOT make an eSport and Blizzard learnt that lesson. The game has to have that in it from its inception and StarCraft had. That's why Korea adopted it and later on the world did with SC2. All the Fuss my friend is there because I was very passioned about starcraft 2 and it was painful to see blizzard abandoning its own masterpiece. Someone may say, well its 14 years old that's why it is less popular. Then, why is League of Legends of Dota 2 still highly popular, successful and behemoth eSports games? LoL is from 2007 - 17 year old game!!! And no its not because of their genre. As mentioned in the video StarCraft 2 WAS more popular than those games back in 2011. Blizzard f* up badly, now it is almost cliche saying how Blizzard is bad, etc but back then everyone was praising Blizzard as they were the best company ever and that allowed them to get overthemselves. Become arrogant and not listening to the community. They eventually did an a lot of the features as mentioned ARE here but its too late. This game could've been so MUCH more popular because it DESERVED it. ALAS it is not. Maybe, its not that big of a deal for you per se and that is COMPLETELY fine, but there were people investing their lifes into the game because they saw how great it WAS and it COULD be, especially when BLIZZARD was behind it. One of the biggest companies with basically "infinite" resources.

    Can anyone explain why you would need more than 2 Gateways?

    • @WGSeries
      @WGSeries 23 дня назад

      I can try! Techinically, in Starcraft II's economy - 1 base consisting of 16 workers on minerals and 6 workers on gas (22 in total) can support up to 4 production buildings consistently - meaning nonstop units. That's, of course if the player has perfect macro (spending of his resources). Technically if you add 1 robotics facility and/or 1 stargate then 2 gateways would be enough. If you add upgrades / static D and other expenses (losing workers, buildings etc) 1 Base economy would not be able to support 4 gates fully, but that's again if you have other expenses. :) Then again, no one is saying that you need more than 2 gateways, it is just is the most efficient to play protoss and have up to 4 gates on 1 base.... 7 on 2 base (at least 1 robo included) and +3 gates for each additional base you have. Gl&hf :)

      Thank you! It did take me give or take 2 months with the majority of time actually being spent on research and script. The editing needs work but I was so exhausted at the end that I couldn't be bothered in trying to perfect the sound effects, transitions effets, to make it more visually appealing. In a perfect world I would've loved that but I kind of reached my current maximum with that video. However I made sure the information is as detailed as possible to the best of my ability. There's still so much I left but given its a 33 year company's journey it makes sense. Its impossible to add everything. All the Blizzard games deserve on their own 1-2 hour videos each imo.

    Barrage would have made it faster...

    • @WGSeries
      @WGSeries 29 дней назад

      You've given a good idea for a video. However, I doubt that because voidrays are mechanical units and thors in anti-air splash would deal less damage. With this mode they deal extra damage against mechanical units and require 0 micro, so it presents realistic ingame micro scenario that even silver/gold players can achieve the same result. I would still try your way and see what happens. IMO, voidrays would win then.

    • @smarty-br8og
      @smarty-br8og 29 дней назад

      @@WGSeries It's true that they deal less damage, but the count of the thors here is too high. Just like the high critical mass of liberators and their anti-air attack. This many thors would annihilate the clumped up void rays with barrage...

    • @WGSeries
      @WGSeries 29 дней назад

      I agree clumped up voidrays would die faster to thor's splash mode. However, I would do small pre-splitting before the fight, in a more realistic scenario. With a little splitting voidrays destroy the thors, but in the single target mode splitting doesn't matter. Obviously, splash dmg in sc2 is a huge deal vs any unit especially flying (they clumped up even more), so in game it's cruical to (pre)split. In conclusion, thor's splash would work if your opponent makes a mistake(clumping up their units), but if he plays right(splitting them) the thors would lose. Just tested it 20+ voidrays survived. But in single target mode thors win always no matter what the protoss does.

    Hey, I'm about 7 minutes in, and I'm planning on finishing the video, but I think the biggest issue that I'm having so far with is the pacing, especially as someone who is only moderately connected to blizzard as a studio (I've played a bit of WoW, and a lot more OW1). I think taking some time to cut down certain parts of the video (such as the section where you show a bit of pro starcraft gameplay) could help make the video more snappy. Beyond that, you need to think more about creating a positive case for the audience about why the things you are talking about matter, at least in the beginning. I think a great example of this is summoning salt video's, where he makes sure you understand ahead of time why a new trick discovery is a big deal. (The main way that he will do that is by setting up a problem way earlier in the video, that the trick eventually comes around to solving). What you need to do for a video like this might be to start more in a place of what makes blizzard so special, maybe with a personal story to help endure the audience to you, and your percpective.

    • @WGSeries
      @WGSeries Месяц назад

      Hello and thank you for your comment! I hear you on the pacing, I don't have much experience editing videos, this is my first documentary/chronicle type video. Moreover, I feel that the essence of the video is to be slow because it has to explain and condense 33 years of a company's history. My goal was to be as accurate as I could be and focus on the information. There are better videos, better edited, with better engagement, with better quality on Blizzard, with better script and storytelling, etc. It would be harder to find things in my video which are better I can see that. They do have years of experience being video creators and are being paid for their work (more or less professionals - they abide by some standards) I can't beat them there, but in my opinion they miss some essential parts of the story in their videos about Blizzard. What many lacked imo was chronological order, substancial and key timing of events and more structured events and more focus on proof of what happened with the company. One reason is because they want to keep their videos shorter and I get that. My idea was to include more details even though the video will be longer, so people who want to focus more will have an alternative. "why the things you are talking about matter, at least in the beginning" You're basically refering to the hook method used in videos. I tried (maybe not executed well enough) to explain that in the intro (first 2 minutes) also did a compilation with all Blizzard games so more people might resonate and also have an idea that we will try to talk about almost everything that happened in those 33 years. "The main way that he will do that is by setting up a problem way earlier in the video, that the trick eventually comes around to solving" Agree, I thought I made that case with the intro, where I was addressing how Blizzard went from creating god tier games to lowering their standards over the years. Also, the funny part with Blizzard is that the problem is not being solved, its actually getting worse and worse. " I think taking some time to cut down certain parts of the video (such as the section where you show a bit of pro starcraft gameplay)" I understand that the StarCraft part is a bit too much for most people but I took that risk and I explained why I chose so. It's because its a big part of MY history with Blizzard and I felt the need to put that extra love into it. Since Blizzard neglected the game pretty much I wanted to put more emphasis on it to balance that out (basically that's the power of the creator, he decides where to put more focus on), even though most of the viewers might not resonate with that part or like it that much. In addition, It's also essential in the story, because StarCraft 2 is the GAME that brings eSports into the mainstream. StarCraft 2 is responsible for TWITCH to exist in the first place. It is a VERY big puzzle which many people do not know and do not realize, but in this video I try to explain it and give hints. A viewer, might watch certain moments of this video and start his own research on the matter he wants to learn more about. I believe that I put many anchors for various types of people to get key words and search more if they so wish. That was one of my goals with this video - to work as an archive. "What you need to do for a video like this might be to start more in a place of what makes blizzard so special, maybe with a personal story to help endure the audience to you, and your percpective." My plan for this video is to be sort of a time archive, where events are being chronologically described over linear timeline. A documentary type video, so I tried to give less of my own feedback ( at the end of the day I am nobody and my channel is very small, no one cares what I think... but maybe they would care about the events.) Since, its a more factual type of video, it is going to be less attractive to major audience for a variety of reasons. (you've given some examples, probably more people will come up with many more) When I was doing my research I watched all the big big videos on this subject but the problem I found was that they were missing certain bits and pieces of information which I thought might be interesting for some viewers. They do it so they can keep their videos shorter and I understand that but my idea was that I would do a thorough research and present the details I find into a more comprehensive and holistic picture. It took me around 2 months to complete this video. Several weeks just to seek and process the whole information. The average person doesn't really have that much time or is willing to spend it on a matter like this. This is where the biggest strength lies in my opinion of this video. It summarizes 33 years of Blizzard Entertainment. It was interesting subject for me as I was already researching Blizzard. So, I decided to make a video out of it / documentary / chronicle type which describes more in-depth and chronologically all I seemed to be crucial for what happened with Blizzard Entertainment. I completely understand that this video is NOT the best quality, is lacking a lot in terms of editing, narration and many, many aspects. This is pure amateur work and the first time I do a project like this or a video like this. In conclusion, maybe it would have been better to scrap my whole script and start it all over. I didn't do that because I already had invested substantial amount of time into writing and editing it. (Paragraphs were multiple times edited before their final form.) I just can't afford to make it perfect. (It would never be, there would always be something to improve on) It will take me years. I did the best I could for the time and skills I have. Can it be improved? Definitely, but I think it is good enough for what it is trying to do. Thank you for the comment, I do appreciate your time for stopping by and sharing your opinion. I agree with most of it. I am trying to tell why it's not realistic and I believe I did as good as I could given my current ability. P.S. The videos has it flaws - undeniable! However, I can assure you, a lot of effort and thought was put into it.

      The problem is much deeper unfortuantely, Blizzard no longer has the talent and the people with vision who created those worlds. First, the core people with decades of experience had left Blizzard already years ago. It's an empty shell of a company with its only purpose being revenue and profit. In addition It's evident by how they treated their employees and customers.("consumers" - this word shows the true nature of how corporations view current day people who buy their services and products) Employees getting overworked and being paid very little compared to the industry standard, while the company is massively successful profit wise.

    A piece of harsh but friendly advice: it's very obvious you used Chatgpt to generate your script and headline. As a slavic language speaker (you sound slavic, i might be wrong), you cannot afford to be lazy in your videos. Invest some real effort in your content and you might get some serious views. This is a 30-minute slop video about something everyone already knows. You haven't said anything that someone better hasn't already said. People who play blizzard games already know this. People who don't, don't care. Chatgpt will help you create content. But that won't be good content.

    • @WGSeries
      @WGSeries Месяц назад

      Thank you very much for the constructive criticism. I agree with you to a high degree. First of all, I am still learning to create videos and lack necessary experience to produce top-level content. When I began my research and the creation of the whole video series I already knew and had watched the videos on this subject. In my opinion what many lacked was chronological order, substancial and key timing of events and even more proof of what happened and things said about the subject because they want to keep they videos shorter. My first estimates were that the video would be at least 1 hour long, however with the editing and wanting to be a as thorough and deep as I can be it became over 90 minutes (without being a journalist or being experienced with the creation of digital media while learning in the process I didn't quite know how to structure the video, what to include, how to include, why, etc - everything being a learning process). I made a choice to split the video into 3 parts because it was taking me too long already ( 1 month in the making) and I wanted to at least have a video posted on my channel to see if there is any interest left in this topic as you pointed out it was indeed very old. (but I knew the risk and I did it for a reason). The reasoning behind creating this whole serioes was thanks to the creative spark and impulse I had that I wanted to chronologically process and archive 33 years of Blizzard Entertainment on my channel and share it for whoever wants to see. Since, Blizzard's games had been part of my own journey ( I've played their games for 2 decades) I wanted to do a closure / ending form for my childhood. (as a kid I probably would've loved that) Of course, there are better sources than me and of course, I used sites, media, interviews, waybackmachine etc... I don't have access to insider people. I am just an average person born in a slavic nation who wanted to create and archive of the events that followed the story of Blizzard Entertainment. I did use chatGPT for my title's because I just can't think of good titles. I don't have that skill, yet. ChatGPT didn't write my script, but what it did was to summarize what I had written and the articles I gathered and summarized it. I agree, that maybe this video is the worst of the three, but people have to watch them as a WHOLE if they want to have the hoslitic picture. (it's a time sacrifice, and I fully understand its long as its almost 2 hours, but that's 33 years of events condenced. This episode, shouldn't be watched as a separate one thing, its a chapter of a 33 years journey. Again, I would like to thank you because I accepted that such a risk will occur and people might watch only 1 part and judge from there, but still decided to make that sacrifice so the series as a whole would have a chance to get to more people. One reason why this video feels lackluster and lazy is because my willingness to make it was diminished significantly. I literally had to force myself to finish the story. Another reason is that is that whole theme of those years represent just that - Blizzard BEING super LAZY and not putting the needed effort. (we know the reasons why) Blizzard became a cheap company, didn't provide good service, they had ruined their reputation. I had very, very tough time making this video because it was painful for me and I had to force myself to FINISH the story because I had already started the series and had promised a continuation after the second episode. If you watch, the first 2 episodes and still think that my content and cheap and a waste of time you have the full right to do so. But I know how much time these 2 hours of content took me and it was almost 2 months of research, scripting, editing, etc keeping in my mind that I am inexperienced and unoptimized but I did it because I wanted to archive that journey for myself and whoever else that finds it. At some point the information was so big that my brain couldn't grasp it, it was so much, so many details and I am quite new to this type of work, not being a native speaker didn't help either) Again, thank you very much. Now I understand better why some people dislike this video, but it was a risk and maybe a mistake on my part but I stand by my decision. In the future if I ever do a series like this WILL change some things for sure. "People who play blizzard games already know this". "People who don't, don't care." You are making two generalizations which might seem true, but I can't agree with. I know several people who play blizzard games and don't know a lot of what happened with Blizzard. So, to them these 3 videos I made could be helpful to a certain degree. "People who don't don't care", I disagree with that as well. Since, one of the main reasons for the creation of these video series was to be a form of an archive. People who are young now will get older and might become interested in the subject. (Feel free to use chatGPT to summarize my very long response LOL)

    • @nemojotun1284
      @nemojotun1284 Месяц назад

      I won't summarize your response because your comments deserves to be read in full. First of all, just to give. a short into into who i am, I'm not an expert on creating videos. But i do digital marketing for a living (copywriter to be exact), and I understand how text and human thought work. I am also a Slav, with masters in English language and I work predominantly for US and EU markets. Creating scripts for YT videos is something i do often (although it's mostly for marketing purposes). So let's start from the beginning "When I began my research and the creation of the whole video series I already knew and had watched the videos on this subject. In my opinion what many lacked was chronological order, substancial and key timing of events and even more proof of what happened and things said about the subject because they want to keep they videos shorter. " --This is actually a great idea. Keep it up. Nothing to say there except support it. "My first estimates were that the video would be at least 1 hour long, however with the editing and wanting to be a as thorough and deep as I can be it became over 90 minutes (without being a journalist or being experienced with the creation of digital media while learning in the process I didn't quite know how to structure the video, what to include, how to include, why, etc - everything being a learning process)." --There's a shitton of video essayists out there who create 1-2 hour videos who perform well. BUT, in their case - production is everything. (Munecat is one of my favourites, you might want to check her out and see how she creates videos. It has a high production value, but that's not important. what's important is that she makes depressing subjects FUN. Songs, memes, jokes, it's just fun to watch, aside from being correct, deep, and meticulous. Your video has the ambient of walking through some war-torn fuckawolf in eastern Balkan. Here's the emotion i got from watching: this guy is depressed because blizzard sucks, and now I'm depressed with him. A better scenario would be: yo, look at this guy mocking blizzard, let's mock blizz together. "The reasoning behind creating this whole serioes was thanks to the creative spark and impulse I had that I wanted to chronologically process and archive 33 years of Blizzard Entertainment on my channel and share it for whoever wants to see. " --This is a great point, and something to follow. Later in the comment you say you lost this creative spark along the road. That's the problem. Creating this video wasn't fun FOR YOU, therefore it's not fun FOR ME. I know the darkness the slavic mind has, outsiders don't want to see that in their leisure time. I also know the humour that a slavic mind can produce. Outsiders would kill their grandmother's puppy to have what we have. "This episode, shouldn't be watched as a separate one thing, its a chapter of a 33 years journey. Again, I would like to thank you because I accepted that such a risk will occur and people might watch only 1 part and judge from there, but still decided to make that sacrifice so the series as a whole would have a chance to get to more people." --Again, I am not sure if separating the videos is the right decision. Maybe if you made a series that follows The Rise, The Fall, and (attempted) Rebirth of Blizzard, it would make more sense. I say rebirth because there is material for that. What blizzard is doing with WoW right now is nothing but positive, so there might be some hope. But we slavs rarely dare to hope, and that kinda reflects in your videos. Dare to hope. Fail. Fail again. Fail better. "One reason why this video feels lackluster and lazy is because my willingness to make it was diminished significantly" --I wouldn't say it feels lackluster and lazy, i might have used the wrong term there. It's not fun to watch, i think that's more precise. Making a 30 minute video is quite a feat dude, and you have several of them. You can congratulate yourself on that and feel proud. "I had very, very tough time making this video because it was painful for me and I had to force myself to FINISH the story because I had already started the series and had promised a continuation after the second episode." -If you plan on writing your own scripts, this feeling will always follow you. I've been a writer for a decade and self-hatred is part of the process. the trick is to keep it to yourself and let the best of you go into the text. There are methods and structures you can use to make your life easier and write better. Study storytelling, there's tons of free materials on the internet. You are a storyteller too, and for an amateur, a very decent one. "If you watch, the first 2 episodes and still think that my content and cheap and a waste of time you have the full right to do so. " --I wouldn't call it neither cheap nor a waste of time, sorry if my comment gave that impression. However, compared to whats out there' there's a shitton room for improvement. It's not so much WHAT you say, it's HOW you say it "I did use chatGPT for my title's because I just can't think of good titles. I don't have that skill, yet. ChatGPT didn't write my script, but what it did was to summarize what I had written and the articles I gathered and summarized it. " - I wrote a fucking good comment on this and it got deleted, i hope I'll be able to recreate it. So, there are 2 problems with using ChatGPT for what you're using it. Headlines: it always creates the same type of headlines (TEXT 1: LONGER TEXT 2). What I usually do is ask it to create 10 examples of what i want, and use none of them. Let's examine yours for a second: No King Rules Forever: Blizzard's Dark Age Unveiled. The first part (no king rules) is unnecessary. It doesn't say anything about the video itself, it's just an empty expression. Most importantly, it doesn't help your SEO. Second part (dark age) is better, but UNVEILED is a characteristic ChatGPT word. it gives you right away. Aside from that, it doesn''t actually reveal anything about the video either. It promises to unveil, but you don't want that in your headline. You want DESCRIPTION, not a PROMISE. Here's a headline that I would do (this requires more thought, but it's just a showcase): How Blizzard Fumbled Its Way Into The Dark Age. OR , let's make it even better.: How The Fall Of Blizzard Signifies The Dark Age Of Gaming. Ok,that's regarding the headline. Let's talk about the script itself. I don't think you let ChatGPT write your script. BUT, I can see that you used it because you use words that are uncharacteristic for native speaker. it's not so much about which words you use, but how you ASSEMBLE them. Why is Penguin0 so popular? Because he talks EXACTLY how people think (or how they WANT to think). All he does is add a bit of his pazzazz and you get a standard moist video. Machine will write how a machine thinks. But that way of thinking sounds either empty or boring for people who listen. Second, it uses certain words that sound profound and smart to the non-native speaker, but it's not something a native would ever say in their everyday life. And if you don't have complete mastery over the language, that will be noticeable, and it will bore people who are used to native speakers. So, to repeat myself, it's not so much about which words you use, it's about how you assemble them. "I am inexperienced and unoptimized" -This articulates my initial comment much better than I actually did. Unoptimized. Not lazy or sloppy, just not optimized. In no way did I want to insinuate that you haven't invested effort into this video. You did. And great fucking job. Please don't stop. " it was a risk and maybe a mistake on my part" -Risk yes, mistake no. did you do your best? If yes, then there was no mistakes, only steps on a journey. "You are making two generalizations which might seem true, but I can't agree with. I know several people who play blizzard games and don't know a lot of what happened with Blizzard. So, to them these 3 videos I made could be helpful to a certain degree." -This is true, but are those people the types who would watch a 2 hour video series on the fall of blizzard? Because that's your audience. People who don't know, people who know but want your opinion, and people who will actually sit down and listen. ""People who don't don't care", I disagree with that as well. Since, one of the main reasons for the creation of these video series was to be a form of an archive. People who are young now will get older and might become interested in the subject." -I absolutely agree with your disagreement. You're right. Please don't stop making videos. You're on the right track. But as a non-native speaker, you will face some challenges that natives won't, and they will always have advantage over you. But that advantage can be overcome. Also feel free to hide this comment, it might be a bad look for other people :D If you want to keep talking, feel free to email me at nemo.jotun@gmail.com If I have the time to respond, I will

       @nemojotun1284 "Your video has the ambient of walking through some war-torn fuckawolf in eastern Balkan. Here's the emotion i got from watching: this guy is depressed because blizzard sucks, and now I'm depressed with him. A better scenario would be: yo, look at this guy mocking blizzard, let's mock blizz together." You are right, the videos about blizzard are emotionally heavy and "depressed" in a sense. But that is what I wanted to express because that is how I felt. I was playing SC2 semi-professionally and invested 7 years of my life being the sole interest. (2013-2020) into it and Activision Blizzard decided to just ignore further development into this game because its was NOT profitable ENOUGH. (I am not alone, there are thousands of people who have similar journeys) I agree that some people like uprising content but that wasn't my intent at all ( In a sense I wanted it to be dark, because that's what it is - I gave a glimpse of the video series theme and what it would be about in my first 6-7 minutes of the first episode so whoever feels like this video is not for them they can stop watching it and skip it - (even though it hurts the sole purpose of the content which is to be watched) and they don't want the heavy emotions which are the ingredient of the video are warned to close it - I am not desperate for views whoever does I am very thankful it would be nice for more people obviously but first I have to earn it. But at the end of the day I have no saying if people will watch it or like it, that's why I never said to like ot subscribe to the videos although I really would love that) I would like to be authentic and that is how I felt, if someone wants to get good vibes its not from the late history of Blizzard - maybe introducing more jokes would have been a better approach - but again I wanted it to be more of a documentary type of video, with proof, with interviews, etc. I agree, that I could transmute the bad into something fun, engaging and better feeling. If I were a better youtuber and content creator with that type of calling and skill, maybe those videos would be better overall. (thank you for shedding light into that possible path). Though, imo the videos are good "enough" because they are authentic and honest for me at least and that is what I value. Everyone else is free to disagree with my presentation. What I completely agree is that the words I chose are far from being ideal or have smooth storytelling. I do believe though it was the best I could do or very near that at this point. (with time and dedication improvement could happen) What I was worried the most is if the meaning of my message would be understood and if my pronunciation was sufficient enough. ( I was thinking of using AI voices to narrate my story, but that would kill authenticity and make it more dull. ( I searched in Quora with this exact question and the majority of people there just didn't like the AI voice narration on youtube vidoes. One of the arguments I found there that stood up with me the most is that if the youtube creator couldn't even narrate its own video why would I invest time into listening to it. I completely agree with that.)On the contrary, if my speech is not good enough to be understood though then AI's negative sides wouldn't matter. Since I don't get any comments about people not understanding I think it is decent enough.) I get what you're saying and there is merit to that, but if I had to follow your advice I probably wouldn't have done these videos at all because I have no desire to mock Blizzard, they are a dead company to me. (They do NOT deserve a video from me who makes people smiling because subconsciously people WILL associate BLIZZARD with FUN that way and they WERE a GOOD company once but not anymore and probably never will be as being part of a TRILLION dollar MEGA corporation - not a chance imo - I would love to be wrong, but they deciding to have 3 day early access for WoW's "War Within" is not just a "RED" flag its a "BLACK" flag for me - I know there's not such a thing I just want to express its worse than a red flag. WoW players already SPEND a ton of time playing WoW and now Microsoft through Activision Blizzard wants to milk it even further, that trend is not slowing down its getting worse.) or make it fun, I wanted to present it how it felt to me, nothing else nothing more. There's much learning to be had in pain, suffering and depression but it's hard because it takes a toll on people and they like to avoid it like the plague hiding behind the curtain of entertainment and shows. That's a coping mechanism and I have no problem against that, I also do it, everyone does. Everybody has their right to watch whatever they want and spend their time. (Personally I am in that kind of chapter in my life so the vibe just went through into the videos, if I were to edit it I might remove essential part and thus feel fabricated? or less authentic at the least) That's why I am grateful for you taking your time to comment and I would not hide it. Someone spending a decent amount of time to comment below my video is a GREAT ad for the video in itself. It's some proof that the video DID its job(caught your attention - it even serves the algorithm's design - that is what youtube wants engagement and us spending our time on the platform) However, growth takes pain just like in fitness and sports, but emotional intelligence and general thinking take time as well. It's painful to think for prolong amount of time and it's draining! It's hard to be a master in any field because of the amount of time, energy, dedication willpower it takes among many other qualities and skills. To sum it up, I had presented my point of view while there still a ton of room for improvement which I definitely agree with. My idea was to be authentic and present proof to back it up, since English is a foreign language to me and I've never been to an English speaking country I have problem with the nuances of words and when to use them. Because you're right delivering a message to me is the most important function of the language, but the master knows how to present it to be the most desirable for his audience and listeners. There are people who resonates with this kind of presentation because they too had invested a lot of their lives into Blizzard and seeing what it had become will hurt at least a little bit if they were truly a fan of their games once. Through pain, there's growth - that's why I would prefer not to spare it when it's essential and necessary. In addition, I found personal growth creating these videos, so I would be happy if some of the viewers get a grasp of it through the story even if its small amount. Thank you for the time and comment. For me its a proof that the video was worth the effort and perhaps even the suboptimal approach of splitting it into 3 parts made it possible for we to have this discussion! :) P.S. I would try to implement your advice on the video titles. I too feel like there are better word than "Unveiled". "No King Rules Forever" does resonate though and the AI somehow got it. I decided to use the death of the Lich King as an introduction because that is the symbolic representation of the death of Blizzard's high standard quality in their games. P.S. 2 - About RUclips deleting your prior 1000 word comment. It had happened to me multiple times before, so I started writing the more lenghty comments when I do those on a notepad (it's automatically saving the written information, so even if their is a power cut the info stays there!) and then pasting them on social platforms, so I don't lose them! I know how that hurts!

      Thank you for the comment and for the suggestion. However, it has been 4 years since this video and I no longer do any StarCraft 2 ladder tutorials, since I don't follow the meta or observe the pro scene. I can guarantee that this kind of build was working decently against high level professional zergs during the time I played but the game has had balance changes and the meta had evolved. In contrast, this build is sufficient for beating any AI in SC2 as they aren't optimized enough to be a challenge compared to a sc2 professional player, so if you are playing against AI's feel free to use it. gl&hf

    Blizzard continues to disappoint no matter what, I quit playing their games I didn't even care I had about 4 months of gameplay left in WoW classic. The garbage costumer service I received made me just not want to support their garbage company anymore.Like can I get actual CS from a human not a machine? I guess not.

    • @WGSeries
      @WGSeries 2 месяца назад

      I remember vividly, their CS quality took a massive hit after 2018 when the mass layoffs of about 900 people from Activision Blizzard took place. From then onwards it kept getting worse and worse. In 2020 Blizzard closied office in Versailles, France and then CS in EU is basically non-existant outside automated machine responses... Thank you for your comment, I think its worth to mention it in the 3rd part of the series because Blizzard Customer Service used to be one of the best and now its completely missing.

      Thank you for the comment. Also, felt sadness and anger. That's what motivated me to explore the subject in depth of what happened and why for myself. Then, decided to do a "unbiased proper" videos (documentary-ish type) from my perspective as no one but a former fan of the company's games who grew up playing them almost daily before/after school for a very long time. Right now, I am kind of indifferent and bittersweet about it. I believe they could've made so much more in terms of their franchizes and game worlds. However, It's over now, but hey at least we got some amazing games and good memories.
