I cover them with plastic during winter to protect them from the rain and cold . We rarely have snow here, but we do have it sometimes. For the succulent bed . I removed 15 cm of the native clay soil and replaced it with a succulent soil mix with 30% of big sands .

Hi , thank you for stopping by. I covered them with a few layers of frost clothes and plastic when we have frost, or else only plastic to protect them from the rain from November until February.

Thank you so much , Since I planted my flapjacks in the garden, their colour not as red as when they were in the pot. They grow healthy and less stressed. I still love it though ❤️

They really are , I don't know if it just me, but they seem slow grower

Hi, it is just my preference. We don't necessarily remove them.

Hi, When the temperature goes below 0°C / 32F, I cover them with a few layers of frost clothes . We got cold winter this year , we even got frost 5 days in a row . With the frost cloth and the plastics tunnel they are doing perfectly fine . I didn't lost any succulent . Just remember to open the plastics cover sometimes to removed the condensation and humidity inside, succulents hate humidity . I have stop to watering them since November , as long as they are dry they will be fine. I noticed that my succulent that I planted directly in the garden much happier and stronger than my potted plant.

During summer my succulents doesn't look good too . It's the same condition, during summer it's too hot and dry and succulents don't like it . Don't worry i'm sure they will bounce back .

You are right. It confused me at the beginning. Now their shape has changed . It has lost the fan shap.

How you can distinguish if it's marlothi or ferox when it's so young plant?

@@stefanocampana6725 Marlothii has those more lateral branching inflorescence versus Aloe ferox which still branch some but are more erect in their branches.Hello, This is what I found online, we can't tell their name until it have flower .

Hi, I'm happy that you found my channel. I'm still learning about succulents . Most of my Crassula I bring them inside when there's frost . But I think in your area you can leave it outside but protected from the rain . For my succulent bed , I already installed a tunnel to protect them from the rain like I did last year . Most of Kalanchoe doesn't like frost at all. Last year I bring my Kalanchoe inside but this year I will try to leave some in the succulent bed just for experiment normally they are stronger when they're planted directly in the garden but the key is we must protect them from the rain keep them dry as possible and put a few layers of frost cloth during the frosty day .

It does looks like echeveria. They are the easiest sedum and hardy too in my area
