GACO brand or Ames Blue Max with Roof Armor ....Miami Dade approved
I don’t understand “reinforcing rafters” and spiking them into an undersized hip? Any thoughts?
We just follow the drawings. Anything structural is done by an engineer. Unless you have that specific designation, I think we are doing the right thing. And even if you did, all engineers do it different.
Broski's man tht milwaukee hammer is a bitch to mover around compared to chorded 1 or a air powered hammer. Even on tht short ass dolly system its a bitch rolling in and down set stairs.
Yea, that chipper was used once and never again. Most slabs are only 4 inches thick anyways so it makes sense to just use a corded one.
The comment section never disappoints…so many experts on here lol
Wrap the water right into the header sweet!
This is an air barrier and although it has water resistant properties, door and window waterproofing measures should be taken too. Things like drip edges, flashing, proper siding install and caulking.
How far in under the footer do you dig?😊
So where is the next video mr underpin?
Goodjob
Did you just post the same video you posted 2 years ago?
Jeez, how much does a job like this cost?
All those staples are not necessary.
you can eliminate collar ties and spreading by 'hanging' the rafters off of a ridge beam . not a ridge rafter but a beam calculated to withstand the load. this save time , material and money if the length of the rafters is excessive then simply add two more beams about one third of the way down from the top on each side .
😊
We did for the rest of the job. This was a last minute pour and we couldn’t get a truck in time.
Great video , Would you say it cuts pretty fast ?
That is a great saw and we would highly recommend it. Just remember, electric for indoors and gas for outdoors.
Why not use a concrete truck ? Just curious
How to create 1000’s of penetrations in your home by yourself. Guess I wont be buying a del grande home
I didn't learn anything.... except, how to rap... lol!
I don’t get it. I smell a hater. You wish you could show as much passion as me.
I just wrapped my entire house in a condom and face mask for safety
dude FORGOT a word in his title. He forgot to put "NOT" right after the "HOW"
Moisture will crumble that particle board sheathing and also the framing where it tapers to nothing. Need to keep a minimum of 2" inches of framing at its lowest taper point, so you will need to raise framing in the front area to do this. Use 5/8" plywood building code approved, felt paper and roll roofing. Roll roofing may only last 5 to 8 years, but its easy to tear off and install new. Flat roofs start leaking, roofing contractor comes out, does some caulking or some sort of sealing, may work for a couple months and new leaks, after probably 400 dollars or so for caulk work. The city of Baltimore should of paid for new roof design on these flat roofs, like a shed roof design, at front roof goes up about 5' feet and rafters take it from there to the back with proper drainage. A shingle style roof.
That won't last. Baltimore Maryland has a lot of row houses that are vacant, roofs caved in. Roof problems i think was the start to these row house shells. Flat roofs rubber roofs were and are expensive and still end up leaking even done by so called pros. Not like a 4-12 pitch roof on a rambler, almost anyone with some handyman skills can install a new roof on a rambler, as long as there are minimum valleys. Even new rubber roofs will crack from the winter and summer heat. Flat roofs are junk even a 1/4" to 12" taper, not enough. Water needs to run from front to rear of building and flow into a large gutter with a downspout at each end, at the bottom get that water as far away from the foundation.
Wrong, collar ties do not keep the walls from bowing out. That’s what rafter ties do. They are two very different member. Collar ties only prevent uplift. I never saw a ridge beam on this roof, meaning the roof is not self supporting. I am an engineer, and this roof is completely wrong. I am shocked an engineer signed off on this.
Thank you for your input. Unfortunately you must be a RUclips engineer because you don’t know what you’re saying. But it’s ok. There are negative Nancys all over the internet. This is OVER engineered both signed off by an engineer and city inspectors just so you know. Hope you have a better day today Adam.
Nice except he's not using an approved tyvek cap fastener.
You took the words right out of my mouth!
Looks like a crap job
Wiggers have become ubiquitous in every walk of life.
That will rot Condensation
I did a one man job today on my 20x20 garage im building. Used roofing nails with the plastic caps. Try hammering those by yourself. Staplers voids Tyveks warranty
If the staples have a button cap, that falls within installation guidelines and in line with warranty entitlement
Im new to the business what's more Ideal Gas or electric? great content btw.
It all depends on the application. If you are cutting indoors, you want electric
Lmao staples are the staple😅 water will bead over staple holes unless the staples blow through
Highly recommend using a cap stapler
Do you put any horizontal hydro insulation here on the fundaments?
Ça vaut rien
👌🏼💫
Manufacturer instructions are for this to be a floating subfloor & not screwed down. Also should leave a 1/4” gap between existing walls and a 1” gap between exterior bare concrete or block walls to allow for expansion and contraction. Curious why you are screwing down the panels and butting up against the walls?
Dricore mentions you can use tap con screws to fix the Dricore to the concrete floor if you will install tile, or flooring other than wood
I’m preparing to start my basement, if I dig under and then pour concrete sections with rebar will this support the home? I’m planning on doing this in 8 ft sections
why rush it in 8ft? he said 3 ft sections
This was a total waste of my time.
Wish you could show how air conditioning and heater system would go in a room like this
This is a bungalow so the venting and duct work all comes from the basement.
Oh! Okay, my parents are doing this to their living room right now and I want them to have the best way to place the vents. Thank you
I would always consult a professional HVAC engineer to determine the best locations for your space. Generally under windows or close to.
🤦🏻♂️
🔥
And then switch to soprema cause no staples....
Aren't these collar ties a tad to high to be considered rafter ties so how does this ceiling meet code?
What did you spray. What was that stuff
Spray adhesive so the bead will tack on and you won’t be struggling to hold it and screw at the same time
Did anyone notice that's not a roof
what would you call it
Did anyone notice that bottle flip?
Jup lamo
Jup lmao
Haha I was waiting for someone to catch it.
Yes
Do you do any work or just try to act cool ?

You are awesome bro!
11 months ago? Did you not finish the job?
Yes the job was complete plus many others since then. Never had time to do another video.
Do you guys serve the Windsor area or only Toronto?
Hey, we do not service the Windsor area unfortunately.
I’ve never had a contractor say we love the challenge, and we love what we do ?? If in a fairytale land I could find one like this , Your hired , wait , how much per hour ???
