It’s hard to believe, but when The Young and the Restless first introduced Phyllis Summers, she wasn’t meant to be a long-term character. In fact, Michelle Stafford, who brought Phyllis to life, recently revealed that Phyllis was originally only supposed to appear in a few episodes. “She was created by Bill Bell,” Stafford recalls, “and he didn’t really have a long-term plan for her. She was just going to come on for a short while and then be written off.”
