    Dear ht6035. I've already sent a message to you here but for unknown reason it hasn't appeared so far. Yes, I can still see vertical lines. My holes were placed at the top. Upon some research, it appears that complications are less likely if the procedure is performed on the side. There's a forum where a patient discusses different setups because his eyes underwent the procedure on different days. And he has these vertical lines where the hole is on the top. So far, my vision remains unchanged. Additionally, I visited a doctor recently to try different contact lenses, and she mentioned that the hole couldn't cause such symptoms. It was hard to stop myself from yelling. I'm not worried about the laser, but rather about the surgical procedure to close my holes. By the way, contact lenses aren't recommended due to my dry eyes, however the the colored lenes solved the photophobia. As you can see in the comments below, it is very uncommon to have these symptoms, but that doesn't mean they don't exist at all. The doctor should inform the patient about the potential side effects. Mine told me there were none.

      How are you now? Do you still see the vertical lines? Where did the doctor laser your eyes, on top or on the side? I hope your vision gets better. I am scared to do the laser.

      @@ht6035 It's worse, as I mentioned in another channel. As spring begins, I'm experiencing headaches because of the sunlight. My vision remains the same. I will try special contact lenses to filter out this side effect and see how it works. I've already tried colored lenses, but they only provided minimal improvement; however, on the other hand, I experienced tunnel vision and blurry vision as well. If this solution doesn't work, there is a chance I may need a suture on my iris. Mine was placed on the top. Where are they planning to place yours? Based on the doctor's and patients' experiences, only a few people suffer from this effect. Most doctors recommend the side placement, and some even measure the location with a special procedure.

      @@ht6035 I'm puzzled as to why my previous messages didn't show up. Just to reiterate, my vision hasn't improved, and I'm considering closing my eyes. On top of that, I've been experiencing headaches when exposed to sunlight outdoors.

    "The hole will not affect your vision." Not always true - It is essentially a second pupil that creates debilitating glare in many patients. That's what happened to me.

      @@surgeonb7242 That is exactly where the iridotomy was done on my eyes. The glare is not present when the holes are completely covered by my eyelids. It is when I move my eyelids (which we all do regularly) that the glare presents itself.

      @@rishabhdatta6991 No. I do not want to risk any further damage an additional procedure might do to my eyes or vision. Also, suturing the iris would defeat the purpose of the iridotomy if you had it originally done for angle closure glaucoma - I think most people would get either corneal tattoos or contacts with colored edges to treat the glare.

    • @SmallFrancis-vd3tc
      @SmallFrancis-vd3tc 6 месяцев назад

      I am thinking about suturing the hole as I have massive disphotopsya since the procedure was made. If you go and search a little bit, you will see that that placing the hole to the temporal (3 and 9 hour) position shouldn't cause (the chance is way more less)any linear disphotopsya instead the 12. Mine was placed to superior. I had problems when my pupil was fully dilated for many hours that's why they did. I don't have angle closure glaucoma. But if the hole is necessary I am thinking about to replace it to temporal which is recommended by most of the doctors. Many articles says on the internet that suturing was successfully made for may patients without any complications.

      +CeSar Mva Thank you for getting in contact. I am sorry to hear that your wife might require further surgery. The Ahmed valve, Ex-press and iStent work in slightly different ways. The question as to which might be "better" for your wife will be very specific to her eye condition, and what her Eye Dr believes is most appropriate to control her eye pressure whilst also balancing this with the risks of further surgery.
