In this fourth addition to the simulated “Flight from the Cockpit” series, we are going to fly a media company team from the Saudi capital of Riyadh to the up and coming Saudi tourism destination of Al Ula! This is a historical town famous for Hegra, a network of carved tombs dating back to 2000 years ago, and massive rock formations resembling planet Mars.

This series is really cool, unlike anything I have seen from flight sim before. Especially love the destination guides and the various bits of information along the route. A lot of effort must go into making these. Keep going!

Great video and flight. I like to the presentation about the island while on cruise, very nice touch. First time subscriber and looking forward to more of these. One quick question, I was curious as to what atc where you using for hf communication, vatsim or some other type. I am think of doing a flight to Seychelles Islands, not sure if it's going to the on the CL650 or 777v2. Thanks again.
Thanks for your feedback! I’m happy you found the Destination Guide to be enjoyable. The HF communication scenarios were using voice actors, not VATSIM or another ATC tool. However, I believe HF communication on Vatsim is possible over large oceanic expanses. During the summer, I will be adding new content using VATSIM !

You are welcome, glad you enjoy my videos Eric! For Navigraph, you can click the control panel; where there’s an icon that looks like 3 books on top of each other (layered) and click the options and you’ll get familiar with them in no time. Merci pour votre interet!

great video, how did you get the map on the mfd to look like that?
Do you mean the STAR arrival chart on the MFD? You press "Chart" on the CCP or DCP (center pedestal on First Officer side)

@@lilcrankz5396 You can edit the PFD map settings by going into the First Officer CCP and pressing LWR FMT and scrolling down to Map overlays. You’ll see a long list of options like Geopolitical map, nearest airports and many things. Play with that till you see what you need !

Adding your own perspectives for the complex airspace journey to the Seychelles, made it a very interesting video to watch. I want to commend you on the detailed research regarding emergency divert contingency planning in this area of the world, great use of the FMS/CDU for detailed situational awareness The HF comm with the various FIRS was well done, especially the position reports. Have a question regarding the reverse thrust on this aircraft. You did not show what you did on the thrust lever when you tested the reverse thrust. I assume you unlock the two thrust levers, but what do you do to the throttle, just advance?
To check the reverse thrust is working correctly , the checklist procedure is to start with one engine. Move thrust reverser to Idle Reverse position and check the REV green indication on N1 gauge, then stow the reverser. Repeat for other engine. That’s all. If you had N1 TO auto thrust before and FAIL appears you can press again the autothrottle disconnect button on the throttle to return to N1 TO. Hope this helps ! Check the official documentation of the aircraft. The checklist shows this step
