Morning, with the trashy original carb it was over 1400... It was never designed to idle, the newer carb I was able bnb to get it stable down in the < 800 rpm range. Better idle circuits on the more expensive carb

@@dctmakes3487 so I am running the stock carb and I was running it at around that rpm but I just put a custom exhaust on it with Honda civic muffler and I can’t seem to get it tuned right. It makes a burping sound out of the intake. Not enough fuel and too much air maybe? It seems the higher the rpm the better it gets but I need it at that lower rpm range or else the gears will grind when I switch it from neutral to forward. I have a 2004 ezgo st 4x4. What make and model carb did you go with?

@@EddieSmith-tf5qh probably restricting flow too much, the carb i changed too was a 24hp briggs or honda style, way better control on the lower range, and with the gear box on the cushman i needed it low enough rpm also, i discuss that in one of my vids. Also after taking the governor out of the picture and pedal control

@@dctmakes3487 are you talking about the restriction on the exhaust or carb? I was looking at getting a mikuni carb but I don’t like the way the intake is on them. My engine is under the seat and you have only so much room.

@@EddieSmith-tf5qh exhaust back pressure, put straights on it to test. Carb was this " NEW GX670 24HP GX 670 CARBURETOR FOR HONDA SMALL ENGINE CARB" on amazon

Cheers, Its a 5 hp briggs, cast iron bore, with low oil protection, set up for manual choke and manual set and go throttle.. Brought new in CA 1997 then held for a project.

yep they are available all over, no where near as good as starett but ya can make them work with some effort

@@dctmakes3487 In the west we value quality over quantity and in China they value quantity over quality which is why I doubt the strikers are even tool steel in these brass automatic centre punches we both have but I do like to repair my tools. You can see them on channels all over RUclips from Europe to North America so they are probably made in the millions.

Not After the plug change to ngk... dropping to idle whilst changing gear, worked after the govenor block. Remember this engine is set up to run a constant load like a mower or jet washer. Do the gov block you will like the difference. Just keep a eye on the rev side not over 4000 or yall be buying another one

Set jig to 1 1/2" then use coarse 2 1/2" screws.... do a sample test piece first and w screws per joint

Yes but just the casing and bearings,,, mags and comutator/windings removed . Thats in another of my vids

hi, on the original carb there is a bowl vent pipe on the right, fuel inlet on the left. standing in front of the engine. (My later videos I change the carb and both pipes are on the right )

@dctmakes3487 Humm I wonder if I have the fuel pipe on wrong side. When I take off air cleaner and startup. I see the butterfly filling up with gas

Hi, three months in the scenario we had was just right(check out the other video on cutting the filter apart), there was no noticeable reduction in water pressure (believe me I would have been told by the wife :( ) Just my take I would not go longer than 4 months at a pinch

@dctmakes3487 This is very high temperature, melting point-very impressive performance. With silver rod that would be easier.

I am contemplating between Stella Copper-Phosphorus-(Silver) Alloys without Zn, like Ag15CuP and the Zn-containing alloys, Ag30Sn. Ag15CuP claims tensile strength 54kg/mm2 (76806 PSI) and the Ag30Sn 48kg/mm2 (68272 PSI). What do you think?

@@eugeneeugene3313 no expert but would depend on the project requirement the stronger braze may be more brittle. probably better to contact the rod manf. based on the actual project requirements, sorry no specific answer. hope ya find the info
