Nice boat ! A bit of advice .... never start it without water hooked up especially to jet ... just shove hose up nozzle with water on. The engine can run few seconds no water ... but not the jet.
During the 1970's my BBF jet boat was the fastest of any in the Portland, Oregon area. Willamette, Columbia, etc. I offset ground the crank for 490 Cu. In., ported a set of 429 Cobra Jet Heads, 2.25 Intake, 1.72 Exhaust valves, Headers, 2 660 Holley's on a polished tunnel ram and Isky Jet Boat cam. I tore up all the Chevy boats including the exact copy of my boat with new D port Aluminum headed BBC with Tunnel Ram. One of the guys I raced paid mondello $7000.00 (1975 bucks) to build him the fastest Olds alive. It got eaten alive too. I sold the motor out of the boat for $5000.00 and a brand new marine 460. It really was impressive. I still own a 21' Taylor Custom (California) daycruiser with a 450 hp. BBF.
