My personal top 3 is The Earth is not.., How Strange, Innocence and Those who tell the truth.. in no particular order, these albums really dragged me into Post-Rock, while worst in my opinion is similar with you, i didnt really liked it, i dont have even one track from The rescue, for me its just decent album.

just a tip, try to make the song volumes the same relative volume as your voice. a lot of points in this vid it got very loud then very soft after showing off a song example. great vid tho!!

Just starting my vinyl collection and yesterday got We Lost The Sea - Departure Songs LP delivered. I don't know how it sounds on vinyl(still need to buy a turntable), but the art on cover and artbook are just amazing, totally worth it

"Low" from David Bowie was one of the earliest examples of post-rock and really the whole Berlin trilogy was so influential to later punk, post punk and new wave adjacent genres.

Any of Husker Du's early shit would be considered essential post-hardcore. Zen Arcade, New Day Rising, Candy Apple Grey.

My favorite Album is definitely "Bones of a Dying World" from If These Trees Could Talk. A band from Akron, Ohio. Got to see them live this year and they did not disappoint!

If you're going to try to act like a DJ doing mic breaks, you should learn not to slur your speech so much. I hadn't heard "Stars" in a very long time. I was derailed searching for it online because I was looking for Home instead of Hum based on what I heard you say. Shazam to the rescue and wound up on the right track.

Saosin - Translating the Name is probably #1 for me. Short but every song is amazing and the drumming is insane.

Hell yea to that Suicide Machines album! BUT...i'd definitely have a danzig-era misfits album up in that mix! Walk Among Us in particular ;)

Eskimo Kiss by Years of Rice and Salt is the song that introduced me to the emaculate desolation known as Post Rock. This song specifically has a slow build (it doesn't start picking up until the 2 minute mark), but it's great for when you're trying to study or be at ease.
