I’m so sorry you are going through this with your mother! Sending a hug and, well, I bet your mother secretly wants to be close, but thinks she’s doing the right thing because of the lies she’s taught! I moved in with my mother as a returning practicing JW a little previous to it, and was trying to be a zealous JW. Not too long after coming here, I REALLY noticed things like misogyny, unfair treatment to some elder kids, versus the regular families, and also there are cliques, and the people snitch on each other! They are a doomsday cult, setting dates and then lying about it. Case 29 in the Australian Royal Commission, shows how bad CSA is within the JWs, and it’s horrendous! I woke up before 2018, and tried to tell my mother TTATT (The Truth About The Truth)but my mother only listens to her (near 10 member leaders called Governing Body Members! She recently told me that “the elders want to do a “shepherding call,” and that she might have to tell them I’m here.” I said, they know I’m here, but she really meant that (because I’m no longer in.) So, it was meant as a threat: to throw me out. I did try show evidence to her because I’m worried that, because of some really scary statements leaders said, that they might have a “Jonestown Event.” They told everyone on written form and in conventions, that “Everyone must obey whatever they are told, even if it doesn’t seem to make sense in a human standpoint.” That gave red flags when I heard that! My mom says she’ll do whatever she’s told! That she loves God (really the leaders) more than me, her family. So, my situation is kind of like walking on egg shells. I REALLY SYMPATHIZE WITH YOUR SITUATION. I lost a lot FOR my mother who actually said she WOULD NOT do similar for me, and it’s because if I do move, she then has to SHUN ME, and here.

As a mother of 3, and a moderate Christian, I absolutely cannot understand this. I let my children know from an early age that I will love them no matter what. How could being gay or believing differently stop a mother from loving her child? I don't get it. I'm so sorry this has happened to you 😔

Registration and Accreditation is no joke. If enough issues are evident the schools can be closed immediately. NESA really do need to be made aware of what they’re actually dealing with here. Also, not that it will really help, going to a mainstream public school didn’t make things easier for Brethren kids back in the day. Family conversations about needing to eat separately, not being able to watch TV even when it was curriculum based , being prevented from reading certain materials required by the curriculum, a constant fear of being watched and told on by other cult kids and having no time for homework or study because of extremely late nights at meetings sounds pretty grim.

There isa youtube channel called "last days" who called the trump attempted assasination 6 months before it happend, VERY specifically, hesaid he would have a bullet graze his ear, etc. He also predicts the rapture, in about 3 more years. Dont assume you are right because others have been wrong.

iI'm so glad you got free, and are helping let the others who want to leave, know that it is possible. I've been also watching a channel called John Spinks who wrote a book called Escaping a Cult, Finding Freedom, and am reading his book. I so relate, even though I was born into the Jehovah's Witnesses. They aren't as well setup though! I suspect their JW App is also a tracking app. Their headquarters called Bethel also sounds very similar in Big Brother ways, even though they're older. They do a Vow of Poverty too. They can't even collect Social Security points for the time volunteering, ever since the 1980's when I guess the JWs introduced that vow to their volunteers! It's pretty draconian, but the ordinary JWs think the Bethelites are treated like royalty because it's supposedly "God's House" only, it's the highest there that get the perks! Anyway, am glad you're helping others figure out how to leave carefully...Great videos! Keep them up! I'm sure you are helping! I woke up in the JWs because of people in other cults (because we were allowed to wath OTHER religious stories, just not hear outside stories about our own (cult.) But also watching exjw ones helped me, so, between all you awesome youtube creators, you are helping cult membes, probably more han you think.

The thought of an actual rapture the way the church explains it today is actually nowhere in the Bible. It was created by a woman I want to say and early American Christianity as a theory to tie specific passages from revelations together. Also the passages that they arbitrarily group together to create this theory would not also grant the theory that believers get rescued from the aftermath of the collapse and fall of civilization. People need to be more carful when reading the scriptures, particularly the ones having to do with prophecy. It’s ok not to know everything, some of it isn’t for us right now.

Its not the rapture teaching that a cult leader is using... its works based salvation. Thats ALL religions. The rapture didnt happen bc the ppl arent ready. What we have is not just happiness and peace but a contentment in our lives. Ok we don't always have that but we are content because we can make our own choices about who we marry and where we live and whether to study at university or do a trade. You are free to be yourself because you don't have to follow the cults rules. It takes time to learn who you really are but that will come in time. You need to heal from the hurt you've suffered and then move on. I understand that you have little choice who you marry since the gene pool is so small.

Poor kids, because, how do you know they aren’t being RECORDED? And how did you know they are surveilled with their app? How long has that been going on? Wow! I’m out from the cult of JWs which also shun completely, (but JWs never can expect their organization pay for representation or anything) so I don’t think a JW would get help. I do imagine the PB would represent this man. Both cults do their best to stay insular, but not as much JWs. Both have windowless halls! WHAT IS THAT ABOUT I WONDER?? Anyway, I never liked that rule of separating so when I left it wasn’t quite so hard, but it’s still hard because I have yet to formally leave, am listed as inactive. I have a son in and mother too. So, it does surprise me a PB guy did this. Was he semi out? If so, then he was already going through a lot, and that might explain how he was “out of his head” speeding unless he did it out of anger, which seems unlikely! Ben I hope you've gone to the police and reported your abuse. You are brave to talk about it but I pray that you also seek prosecution for that evil person. I'm supporting a friend who is working for them, as she seeks another job. I also worked for them and was horrified by the way a young man was treated as he wanted to leave them.

Honestly, I'm glad you did this video as I was thinking the same thing. Yes he deserves to pay for his crime as does everyone BUT honestly there is A LOT to unpack in his circumstances. He must be devastated having caused the unaliveing of his brother and cousin. I also am very glad you got out of that cult so you could experience life normally! JWs also say that if you leave, you will fail, blah blah…doomed and all that nonsense (tactics to keep people afraid and inside never questioning, never researching.) Do you realize you beat the odds by leaving! So proud of you! Means you have inner strength. I hope you research your cult so your family still in cannot guilt or fear tactic you back inside. I had gone back and tried again the JW cult, (with some punishment) because I hadn’t researched. My twin brother and mom guilted me back, and I did lose a lot. But finally DID research and saw it was also a cult and NOT THE “TRUTH” (or true church.) Anyway, I actually think possibly JWs and Plymouth Brethren might have stemmed from a same belief system but not sure. There’s a video called something like …”Shoots and Cohoots” not sure what else, but showed Adventists, JWs, Christadelphians, and thought it said something like Plymouth Brethren or maybe was Puritan something. All I know is, that there ARE similarities and makes so many internal “alarm bells” go off hearing your story because it shows similar things that do cause harm. The Watchtower Society (JWs) also have a lot of rules, and they also have TO APPEAR FLAWLESS. Their image is the most important thing. They hide child a buse and care more about their image than protecting children. Zero reports to officials in Australia of 1000 cases that their internal records showed in the Australian Royal Commission in 2015 (case 29 I think.)

I also am very sorry for the loss you and your friend are grieving, but am so glad that person had a “celebration of life”type funeral.

The Jehovah’s Witness cult uses funerals to about only 5 minutes speaking about the individual, but still only speaks about things related to their religious “works” not their own character or talents, and things like that. The rest of the time is spent talking about the religious belief of “Hope of salvation” only through being a member of course. The JWs do recruit. Sadly the funerals are really like a commercial to get members aka non jw family and friends.

Jehovah’s Witnesses also have Halls called Kingdom Halls, no Windows and they have some similarities to your cult.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses have the same problem. I really think it is a trauma based type mind control method used to control and keep people subdued and inside the movements. I think the perps are sick, but I think the leaders create the atmosphere so it lends to it happening. I just hope investigations will happen.

I'm not a member of the brethren. For a start. But I'm very interested, because they have proper deep Bible study and exegesis. I got to know two on a personal level and want to visit a gathering. I don't think it's a bad thing to protect the assembly from bad influences and keep it pure or clean. Hearing you speak the first few words made it clear, that you indulge in the sodomy livestyle. So, naturally, you are opposed to what the Bible and Bible believing and obedient Christians teach. You ARE rebellious towards the word and will of God. Just because your way of sinful living is not accepted by another group of people, it is not necessarily a cult. They DON'T HAVE to accept it and they shouldn't. You should repent and turn back to Christ. Then you wouldn't be bitter and have rants in public, that are embarrassing for you and your family.

As a Christian myself, nobody not even the angels know the time or the hour. It will be like a "thief in the night" however it gives us instructions to be wary of certain signs in the world around us so that we may know that it is coming. Not an exact time. It will be sudden and without any advance warning aside from as stated signs from the world around us.

There's a reason it was known as the Exclusive Brethren!!! Was so hard to leave. But I don't know of anyone who joined!!!!

You're just lost, perhaps you should read the holy books as if you've never read them before and not influenced by any other religion, just like an innocent child, read the Torah, the old testament, not through Christianized filter, all the answers are there. Being religious doesn't mean you bound to be dum, we Jews have above average IQ, so there's that. Another point I'm gonna share with you is that this world did reset before, more than once, for not reaching the final goal, salvation, so it had to be scraped off and re done. If we human beings don't reach our final goal, we forget G-d and his laws, we lose our selves and the meaning of it all and we simply destroy our selves, be it with world wars, diseases, "natural catastrophes" and the world resets, we start all over again, from scratch, this will continue until we reach our final destination. There is no certain date in holy books of the salvation date, only G-d knows when it will happen, we can only predict and/or calculate approximate dates. We all been created by the Almighty, everyone on this planet has a purpose, a role to play, you just have to find your own purpose and chose your role and you have a guide/manual book that helps you through your journey, just like when you buy a new car, it comes with a guide/manual book, why is it logical to read the car manual but not the manual book for your body? soul? I pray that G-d opens your eyes and soften your heart, don't lose this war, look for answers, seek for answers and you shall receive them.

Man you gotta try to get your mum out. She can still be a Christian and will go to Heaven as long as she believes in Jesus. She doesn't have to be a part of that cult to go to Heaven, she needs to understand that. If only you can get that message to her alone, face to face, one on one. Pray for her to see truth. Keep speaking out Ben! Keep taking cases to the police and naming the abusers. It is important to expose their evil. I worked a few days for Hales company in a temporary admin role and was appalled by how I was treated. I also worked for another family's company for a bit over 3 months during which time I supported a young man leaving the cult. I felt I needed to educate him about a few worldly things so he didn't go out quite so naive to the world. He now lives far away from the trauma he was put through. I'm a Christian and I can truly say they are not. I also heard bits and pieces about them being paid through One School but didn't really understand how that worked. The ATO investigation will hopefully have them paying millions in tax and make sure they can no longer operate in the way they all have been. But the issues of abuse within the group need to be addressed and prosecuted and the abusers jailed. So keep helping people and talking about their abuse. And make sure you're getting any mental health help you need to cope. Xx

When we "say farewell" to people that leave the brethren, it is because we wish them that they're at least saved.
