@@tarunbansal5138 I've not been down to the bottom. I think it's between 2 and 3 meters at its deepest. It's very gradual though so you can easily wade out until you feel you are at the right depth for you.

@@dudleyblokerave it joins the Tame a bit further down, Futher down it joins the Trent. Eventually it reaches the Humber. You could probably Kayak to Hull. :-)

@@LeeChetwynd I live about 2 miles from the source of the Tame. Its not paddleable anywhere for many miles though due to lots of low culverts and other hazards. Plenty of canals though!

Deep enough

Good for you, but this video was early may and it was probably somewhere between 7-9 degrees. Ok for a quick dip in my trunks but I was doing about 8km or so. I can't keep my body temperature up that long. I was in the quarry last night, I did 10km in a wetsuit, (no gloves) and then took my wetsuit off for the last 400m. All in all about 3 hours. I know some people can swim for 3 hours in cold water in just their trunks but I'm not one of them. Coldest I've swam in, in my trunks is 0.2°c at cliff lakes a couple of years ago. That was for about 10 mins and I shivered for about an hour after. If your up for it, come down to cliff lakes probably late October, early November and join in with the winter swimming on Saturday mornings, it's a good laugh. You'd enjoy it.

It has fish, kingfishers and otters so I think it must be much better. There were a couple of bikes, shopping trollies and traffic cones but I think the water quality was pretty good. I didn't get ill anyway.

@@LeeChetwynd I live at the back of the Tame up in West Brom, and I swear on occasion the sewage farm that has an outlet leading in to the river, pumps up pure human shit!! You can smell it AND see it, nice :-/

All sewage plants are allowed to sump raw sewage into our water system at times of heavy rain. It's not right but it happens in all of our rivers.
