Buttercream stencilling (Part 2)
Using the Opera stencil from Caking It Up. This is how I use stencils on buttercream cakes. Also note: as I was filming I placed my buttercream bowl on the wrong side of the cake which made it very awkward and did not allow me to scrape excess buttercream off. So don't do what I did there!
I hope this helps take some of the possible issues of buttercream stencilling out of the equation so you can go for it without worrying you'll mess it up!

Part 2 (part one is crumb coat). Final coat on the cake plus drip and chocolate top. Ganache used was a 1:1 ratio. I let it cool a bit too long and the first part came out a bit gloopy but the basic technique remains the same. For more buttercream cake ideas visit me on IG at loveleighscakery

Sharon M Tip was a 104.
I enjoyed your video I don't know if it was my phone better kept going dark and the truth is when you did the top we couldn't see anything I wish you would have had a top looking down but your cakes are very beautiful
Laurie Reese thanks for the feedback. And agreed. The top was done virtually blind which is a shame. I'll have to figure out ways around that for future use. I appreciate you taking the time to let me know your thoughts!
Thank you I will
Thank you , you make it look so easy
Donna Beltrame It definitely takes practice but it's well worth giving it a go I think.
Beautiful cake. Thanks for sharing. Do you mind sharing the buttercream recipe you use? I really struggle with buttercream. Thank you
Terri Hendee Hi Terri. I'm afraid I am unable to share the buttercream recipe as I actually sell it locally and nationally. I will tell you though that it's an American buttercream made with all butter and no milk.
Forgot to add that the grey colour I used was Americolor black. Just a drop. Happy caking!
