Great lead and FANTASTIC backing by the girls, especially Michelle singing higher than Denny. Cool.
A never released song of the M&P.
my I love Michelle Phillips The mamas and papas I remember them in the 70s🌹❤️💐🙏xxxx
zó geweldig ❤❤❤❤
Música linda com ainigualável Cass Elliot.
Michelle killed the higher harmony in this! So good. she had a belt on her 3:17
Good taste
Look at Denny making eyes at Michelle.
People say she still looks good, but this is not a video from nowadays, it must be 10 years old video, she must have been something like 65-70 here.
Great music and memories of the 60s
Listen to the Banjo Song by the Big 3 then Venus by Shocking Blue. Where does originality begin ? Mozart? He 'adapted' tunes as well
John never looked forward or to the others once. Maybe he knew!
A dizzy sing.
So perfect for the times & they were great during their brief mid 60's run.
Lovely song
Lovey song ,Denny looks like he's had a few,😵🍄,🌱🌱🍺🍺🍷🍷😰
the backstories behind some of their songs is quite interesting they're in the background of the eve of detruction
Back props first use of giant PVC!! 👍👍👍
She's old now. The spring blossoms are past. What used to be beauty, no longer lasts.
Hmm, sounds like you have serious issues in your life past & present.
Shes still pretty
John Phillips was a genius at arranging vocals. The team of him, Denney, Cass and Michelle were perfect for his arrangements and songs. There music will on I hope forever.
He was most definitely-
Puxa ...
Kinda hurts my ears lol🙉
michelle you haven,t aged very well
......and you do not know the difference between a comma and an apostrophe! (Also after the word "apostrophe" is an exclamation mark that you probably do not understand what that is either.)
@@sharonw2475 no i don,t and i DON,T FUCKING CARE you stupid shit
@@sharonw2475 LOL. You didn't dispute his point [comma] Sharon [period]
What a fabulous voice Denny has. And Cass Elliot! Wow!
The male sex icon Denny Doherty did not sing a lot more like this even when he sang on his own. His opera version of this musical song is magnificent. Now with God
Loved them all but Michelle isca great example of what smoking does 4 u
Thought this was a uriah heep song
It sounded and looked like John didn't sing on this, I wonder why. It's still so amazing what just 3 voices could do, sound like many. So the whole group never needed any director, a fifth ear who coached them on their songs they knew their stuff so well they could just do it? It seems like John was the songwriter and in a way like their conductor too.
I wonder why Denny was never chastised for hooking up with Michelle? Michelle seemed to take all the heat! Phooey on that! : - )
Because he was single but she was married? She cheated on John - made him look like a fool. Believe it or not, like it or not, in the 60's, women were held to a higher standard.
@@Lindyworld As musically brilliant as JP was, he certainly turned out to be a fool of sorts, now, didn't he? He hurt many. Denny was an integral component of the band, a friend to JP, and a friend to all. I call phooey on so-called higher standards!
@@allkindsamusicchick Yes he certainly did turn out to be a fool. He cheated on Michelle as well. But as unfair as it seems that's just the way it was. It wasn't like Denny just forgot about it either. He had a hard time moving on from Michelle and pined for her for years. Cass was in love with Denny and that must have been very painful for her to watch. It was a very messed up situation.
@@Lindyworld Yes, very painful for C.E. she had a painful life believe it or not- Denny was nothing but a creep period
And now she is beautiful
I just discovered this; I knew the song from the Judy Collins album but this version is much more chilling. (though I have always been a big fan of Judy Collins.)
Judy’s version was very nice , (all her music was wonderful) but the harmonies here are unforgettable.
That note at 2:56 is trash.
It was to lead into the modulation and works perfectly for that purpose. John knew exactly what he was doing and did it extremely well.
@@LubaFan I agree with you.
its a modulation pls use your brain
Skip to 1:30 to avoid the burnt out scarecrow.
Michelle Phillips is and was always a beautiful woman! What do you think you’re gonna look like when you’re in your golden years! Stop being a little jerk!
@sheepkillindog That's what I did.
@@cathygiuliana9089 In what universe is that hag beautiful? Take a look at Olivia Newton-John and Agnetha of ABBA and see how well class ages.
Beautiful
Cass looks adorable in the blue dress and white boots!
This was one of my favorites she wore! ♡♡♡
This my favourite version
What a beautiful song! Loved it!
Hauntingly beautiful. I prefer this one to all the others, having just listened to them all.
I’m glad I found this. It is the version I remember. I agree, it’s the best interpretation. Earlier Cass Elliot.
A really touching version.
Es una canción protesta , protesta sobre la guerra de Vietnam, el papá se va a la guerra y le dicen a la niña que su padre se fué
And i stupidly thought that the rock group Uriah Heep originally recorded this Song 👉😪👈!
I would never recognize Michelle here.
I played this 45 on my oldies record show--it featured songs/groups that failed to break the Top 40...
Nice version
Mama Cass Elliot,Tim Rose and Scott Mc Kenzie.
Aurelio Gago Jim Hendricks, not Scott McKenzie
is the big lady the one who had the louder voice?
Yes.
well why else would she be in the group? everyone one brought something to the group.
cacoca79 Yes
Mama Cass Elliott.
The better voice
To think it was released as a 45. What a beautiful song.
multicaruana i have it on a vinyl
CASS VOCALS! WOW!..............!!!!
Adorable...forever!! ❤️
That's actually Michelle doing the higher harmony in this one
Mama Cass or the Big three's versions are beautiful but behind Tim Rose's one, which is unique. UFO's, Velvet Fogg's and Uriah Heep's versions are riduculous, they didn't understand anything to the song
eyraudpa Could you explain this song to me. I confess it sounds beautiful and touching but I do not understand it.
Cass was gone too soon.
