Просмотров 213 месяца назад
On my way home I stopped at the Benjie’s Lake Trail and bumped into Jeff. We were lucky enough to find this moose enjoying an early morning snack. What a great way to finish 8 days in the Cape Breton Highlands. parks.canada.ca/pn-np/ns/cbreton/activ/randonnee-hiking/benjies June 23, 2024

Early Morning Red winged Blackbird Breath Shots
Просмотров 616 месяцев назад
It was an early 5:15 am start to try and get some Red-winged blackbird breath shots today. Conditions were not great this morning with just a touch too much wind but I figured I would go anyway since the temperature was perfect. When I got there I was not surprised there were only a few cattails left standing after all the snow we had this winter. On the plus side, I knew where they had to land...

Bald Eagle Release After Rehab
Просмотров 7711 месяцев назад
Back in August this year, I joined the staff from the Cobequid Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and the local Department of Natural Resources and Renewables office to release a rehabilitated bald eagle from the Balls Creek area in Cape Breton. The young bald eagle, they named Napper, was picked up by DNRR officers after it was reported near a business not being able to fly. They discovered Napper...

The American Bittern Call
Просмотров 10 тыс.Год назад
The American Bittern is an interesting marsh bird that can sometimes be hard to find because of its fantastic camouflage. Most times you will hear the odd-sounding pump-er-lunk call but if you are really lucky you will see them do it. The male first inflates its esophagus and then releases the air to make its call. I was fortunate with this one, I heard it calling almost once every 4-5 minutes ...

thank you :)
Yes! Beautiful photography!
thank you :)
The sweet sound of summer in Eastern Ontario.
Looks like a good sized salamander
Watched one snag a big chipmunk from a brush pile by the pond. It then went back in the water and kept dunking it underwater trying to drown it I guess. Swallowed it whole and you could see the poor thing wriggling as it went down. Fascinating and kind of horrific at the same time..
Canoeing in a local swamp and would here this strange noise for years before finally seeing that a bird was making it. Very hard to spot one such an awesome video thanks.
What funny birds they are

Hello my Steve ❤
I have a huge tree in my backyard do you think if I did something like this it would attract a eagle to come nest?
Good people! But how on earth did that net end up there?
It is soooo wonderful! Greetings frpm germany

So sweet and beautiful, thank you so much for sharing these beauties and their wonderful release with the world. It’s such a blessing to see these amazing raptors living free in their own habitat, may God continue to watch over this amazing staff, and these fabulous eaglets.🥰❤️🦅🦅
Thank you for all you do ❤
So sad. If people don't make a mess of it on land and in the sea, then they will in the air. And don't interfere?! Do those animals have to get completely entangled with all the consequences that entails! In this case it's completely normal and moral to interfere..
It’s our job to help keep those nest secure in what little is left of trees, here in south Florida FWC gave permission for 2 developers to knock down eagle nest (one had an eagle in it) to continue with the construction.
Great to see this taken care of. The message from agencies that are tasked with protecting the eagles is this. They enforce that people are abiding by laws regarding keeping our distance, no feeding, no picking up feathers. If a business or industry such as a development or wind turbines want to destroy nests and kill eagles for profit, then that's ok. Our agencies are for hire. How many years have eagles built up and used this nest? Eagle mates often go separate ways after nesting season, meeting up for the next season. Shameful to tear down their home of many years.
Where was this at? I hadn't heard about it. Such an outrageous shame, can't believe that they'd give permission for that, since the trees weren't dead or anything! Is there a video or internet or newspaper article about this nest? TY
Was one of these the Wildlife Rescue of Dade County? The one with Ron & Rose and the Eaglets R4 & R5
If only mankind cared this much for homeless mankind. 🤷♀️
Such amazing loving wonderful humans! Thank you for saving this beautiful nest! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🥰🦅🦅🐦🐦🙏🪺🤍❤️💙

It's beautiful
Amazing Thankyou ❤️🙏🦅
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 & 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
That net wouldn't be up there if it weren't for humans. So we need to help.
I understand not interfering with nature. However when hazards are man-made, we owe it to wildlife to make it right. Many thanks to this team for preventing a potential tragedy❤
You are absolutely correct! Just think how wonderful Nature would be if Mankind would have never left anything behind except for shoe prints!
So agree.
I Agree as well! You told it like it was!
