i will not doing this level while i am drunk again. just remember, light green full body height, dark green waist height. you can just get inside the house that is right next to the maze, grab keycard on the table and avoid the maze altogether. i didn't do it because i was drunk while recording this run, so don't be an idiot like me. there's a time when i hearing this line of people in fighting...

    one look into your video and I knew immediately what I was doing wrong, I just needed to figure out a pattern of combos that would be least used and then repeat that pattern instead of randomly hitting combos hoping it could work. I would probably have easier time with swordmaster but I was levelling gunslinger. Anyway thanks!

    Good run! I wouldn't call this game "mediocre" but you do you. That aside, have you found the "statue ai" glitch? Randomly upon reloading a save they will just stop moving at all, but they will still react to stuff and fire. I hate it because it feels like cheating.

      disappointment and wasted potentials. lack of creative playstyle in stealth, light meter is useless, 90% of gadgets are loud focus, lack of replayability, horrible movement, door are terrible, 1 frame bullshit, AI are only good in loud gameplay, big empty wasteland map and over reacting AI. not good at all.

    Absolutely agree with the kicking one. The Kicking especially useful when you need to face more than 2 enemies. Kick is guarantee knock down, and you can absolutely kick one enemy down, finish another with two fist, then back on the first one. Talking back to level design...I really did not expect that in the final level there will be that damn emergency lighting. I though we are finally gonna have "Free Darkness" that costs no Equipment or ammo, but well, Devs clearly think that this game is not hard enough!

      theif 1&2 are always my standard when i judging stealth game. and stealthgamer guy, he's not really, at most he is on the surface level. he's representing on why modern stealth games are terrible these days. the game is too shallow and the only way to have fun is to kill everyone. he's the type of stealth player that i don't really like, he's very creative though.

      classic stealth games are indeed forgotten. and intravenous is just a result of that forgotten vision of stealth genre. that dev missed the point on the why old stealth is good. see, one of the reason on what's make the old stealth games like thief and splinter cell fun, it becuase how dense and very little down time the game has inbetween objectives. like thief give more objectives to do in higher difficulty, for example. or chaos theory with optional objective that affects scoring is also good example. this encourages player to explore the very big map, and respect the level more. it is good for overall game and making exploration more exciting and interesting. intravenous' level are just a very big wasteland for stealth player that has nothing worthy to explore. what's the point of getting new weapons and blueprints for stealth player anyway? so the game is just feels so mind numbing and too much straight line and waiting around like modern stealth game. and the AI for stealth is over reacting. like fliping switches caused the guards to start searching areas instantly for example. it just making the switches useless, even if it doesn't making them searching areas it still penalized you for doing it. this reducing the interaction that player can do on the map for no reason. not to mention 1 frame bullshit.

    " it is not really true difficulty at all, it's artificially difficult." Perfect summarization. Almost as if...the devs wanna make this game "Hardcore", but decided to not add any depths to the game, maybe due to limitation of the skills, or due to budget reasons. Instead, they increase difficulty by making enemies jumpy, limiting your routes(Damn Glass windows), and adding redundant mechanic that render you easier to be spotted. In short: it forces you to make no mistake, even the trial-error ones. By keep punishing you, it creates a false sense of difficulty, making you feel the game's Hardcore, while your painful and frustrating experience coming from the flaws of the game itself, not your incompetence. So, now we come back to the question: Is this game difficult and "Hardcore"? Answer is "Yes". However, the game is difficult in a shallow and cheap way, for it did not have enough depth(level design for example) to challenge your skills, but choose to create troubles for you by putting undeveloped and unfair mechanic in game, which makes you think that the game is hardcore---just like how Left 4 Dead 2 challenge player by utilizing Director System, while Back 4 Blood keep pushing play by throwing tons and tons of special infected at them.

    This maps is where inconsistency of enemies vision and shadows reach it WORST part. Tons of shadow that support to hide you but can't, enemies see you from 10 meters away, and enemies can see you stuck in very dark corner, not to mention damn lights that can exposed you even you break them...These are old problems, and I am growing numb now.

    Did not have much complains about this demo, probably because I played it too much. Problem of "Put keycard for room A INSIDE room A" seems less severe, though.

      i am on the opposite. had too much problem with demo that is still persist to the main game somehow, and became numb to it. and yeah the game had too much problem to the point that, the weird keycard placement became the least to worry about. and it's not a good thing.

    How are you getting such long reach on your melee attacks, is this an exploit or something? I can only hit enemies with the laser rapier from about 1/3 the distance you are.

      looking up around 30 - 45 degree before attack, the melee is not landing exactly where you're looking at.

    This side Mission are one of the reasons I think the devs are FORCING us to go a optimal stealth route. Just one point: so many potential routes or entering points are being blocked by Glass window or Iron Fence. If we just replace all of them with obstacles that can be climbed over, it will be more interesting. But they just have to block our way and says "don't consider that way, go forward". Even Hitman Absolution are a little better than that.

      this level is so much bigger than it looks, and there's no reason to go to those places for stealth run at all, other than getting unique weapon for future loud gameplay. it just weird that the dev just making those place for just 1 unique weapon and blueprint.

    I remember this level. It requires you not being detected and knock out no one for an achievement. I use only a EMP, went through the path on the left(you just go through the door, my path is on your left in which there is a goon went up and down), and after I got to the laundry room(the one with one civilian dancing in it), I disable that camera and went straight to the right...without warning that there are vents in the shadows, but be glad I still get the achievements. One design I do not understand is getting keycard from the Survelliance Room...why the devs force us to turn off the lights to get the keycard to Deluex Area? It is only after I watch your video that I found I can get the keycard else. Thanks for that. Another level that suffers from linear design and narrow paths... By the way, if I choose to leave the level by the left route, you can pick the lock of fuse box and turn the lights off, then you can slip through...but then you can't get ghost rank, pity.

    There is one thing good about this level---some of the paths are very wide, that I can slip past the enemies by facing the wall and stand still. The rest of all are still painful. Not gonna lie, I now have some Intravenous 2 fatigue and no longer have the motivation to keep playing. I feel the game is basically punish me for everything I done, no matter it is Stealth or Loud. Today I tried another Assault style run, with no silencer on Primary and Sidearm, and I got my ass kicked heavily...those enemies are so overwhelming.

      that's why i am not redoing the run even with patches that fixed things like escort hearing the footstep and count as "time heard". it is a very tiring process while learning this game.

      the painful one is going to be the rescue sean's dad level, where i just throw pacifist stuff out and kill for clearing the escape route. maybe it because i was drunk while doing it, i can not sneaking out without the blackout because the camera blocking the main path. so RNG is very big part of the guards positions, it just annoy to play fairly in that level.

    There are some very shitty design in this level. The First one is acquiring Gym Keycard from that office with two sitting civilians. There is not way to get into the keycard room without alerting or pacify the civilians. Even with EMP, you can't get pass the left civilian without being noticed, so I end up kick them unconscious. The second one is the part at top floor where you need to get to target. Your mission here is separate into 3 parts: Get the keycard to the checkpoint, get to the door, and pass the last goddamn guard(along with that sitting civilian). Getting keycard isn't the issue, but trying to get to the door is torture. There are 3 things that may mess up. First, the door is guarded by 3 people, two guards and one sitting civilian. If you trying to crawl you way the Civilian will be a nightmare, since you must stay under the camera to avoid being seen by guards, which means you will be the just in the Vision cone of Civilian. The second, goon's patrol route time is quite tight, especially the one on the left. Third, the goon that in pair with the civilian is almost impossible to avoid----EMP is useless since he will walk so close that he can spot you in darkness(never understand how this vision cone even works). Despite that, EMP pistol also causes flickering before the light dies out, and that means you are still exposed for 1 second. Can't wait to see what do you say about the Pablo's Hideout, the level with tons of keycard get put in the room that you are suppose to open...with keycards!

    A question, mate. To you, in what ways does Intravenous 2 goes against, or failed to meet the standard of "Klassic Stealth Game"(or where does IV2 false advertising)? What are some classic stealth game you will recommend? Will you consider Hitman a classic stealth game?

      the restriction of stealth play style is the main problem. the reason why splinter cell 1-3 has good replayability, are that you have multiple "solutions" to the player to get the objectives done. chaos theory is a very good example of this and this. mostly small rooms but you have atleast 2-4 solutions on how to solve the problem and you can mixing those up at will. but this game just has 1-2 at most. and trying to please the loud play style too much is probably the second problem i had with this game. why focus too much on that aspect in a stealth game? just like games that focusing too much on cutscenes instead of gameplay. the game just lost its plot. theif 1&2 is always my recommend classic stealth games, and hitman is a classic stealth game. yes.

      @@Remօnade Gotta wishlist the Theif series on steam I guess! Also, can you elaborate on the Loud play part? How does the game trying to please the loud style, when enemies can spot you from another side of the map, hear you from further than 10m, and melt you less than 1 second?

      the dev spending a lot of time to make AI constantly flanking and re-positioning, camping areas and blocking most of the possible escape route when players are inside the building, rushing the moment they hear the reload or gun fire from other side. and if they're camping it just basically turn the game to Police Stories where you have to be the one that clear the room. so it has the constant push-pull and making loud play style more engaging. but because of the dev forgot to make AI be able to mantle over stuff. that's why it is very easy to exploit the AI, because if you're camping in the building that has only 1 entry point and shooting gun at the opposite of that entry point the AI will just keep walking to you. once you found its flaw it just turned those things into the good idea but bad execution kind of things. and most of the gadgets are loud focus. and the enemies' vesion is also scale by the zoom and FOV. so it is easier to managed there. the game is just... kinda full of wasted potentials. honestly.

      @@Remօnade Now I kinda sees it, a very big part of the game is making sure the Gun Fight are...fun and engage, like the smart AI, how sensitive they are, and how there are tons of gadgets that favors the Assault Style... What are some other wasted potentials by the way? Like the staff that this game does well?

      there're good things in this game: the AI itself did very well. i think it is one of the best right now, when it comes to the tactical topdown perspective games. it's flaw but, it is much better than, say... door kicker and police stories and such. the map lighting itself is very good. very easy to spot where it is possible to hide by glance. even it not properly did in the game... the character's sprite are very well animated. and the rough darker tone art style are really good. the sound design for footsteps is very good. i can still be able to hearing them even during the loud music and gunplay. another thing that wasted potential it going to be: the exploration in this game is very lackluster. like side mission 1 for example: you need to get keycard for main objective, but there're none laying in the level. you have to KO one of the 2 guards that guarding the door to get the keycard. or the key to get MP5SD is pretty much in the next room for some reason. wasted opportunity to encourage player to explore the big map and trying new paths.

    "You need to make the game interesting for repeated playthroughs, not just binary loud or stealth. but stealth in multiple ways or loud in multiple ways. in this game, stealth-wise, it just this. one or two at most strategy." Mate you are a Genius, you express what I feel about this series in general in just two sentences! This game advertises itself as a "Love Letter to Classic Stealth Games", yet it never considers making Stealth as fun or as diverse as those classics. Is there any classic stealth game that DEMANDS you to wait all the time for a Ghost ranking, while not allowing you to lure the enemy in any way? If I remember correctly, if there is "?" or "?!" appears, it means your ranking is screwed. In Intravenous 1 and 2, there are only two tactics: Walking in Shadows, or going loud. The main creativity of the game is lying in the firefight ---the enemy AI is very decent. They know to block and guard the entrance, they know to cover each other's back when going hunting, they know to lay suppressing fire with their firepower, and some of them even know to wait in darkness and ambush you when you are not careful enough. They are very good, of course, but why devs don't make them smart in terms of dealing with stealth? When comes to stealth, enemy AI is quite basic. You shoot the light, and AI jumps. You hit the windows, AI jumps. You slam the wall with your fist, AI alerts---and all of them mean an incoming gunfight. Most of the time your tactic will be a fight. It is just the difference between shooting the lights and then shooting them, placing your landmine and luring them, going loud at the corner, and burning them(flare gun). You have a full arsenal to cut your way in hordes of enemies, and yet only 3 or 4 of the gadgets are useful for stealth, not to mention how narrow and limited the level design is... Here's my last question: Which "Classic" "stealth "game do devs get their inspiration from? F.E.A.R?

      my guess are going to be: 1.metal gear series. judging from the linear level design. i am going to get alot of flak on this. but most level in MG are that are not that good. the good ones are in the MGS3 and most of them are outdoors. indoors... they are serviceable at best, except the last area where you plant a bomb before fighting volgin. and intravenous just have the same problem. so... yeah. 2.deus ex:HR because how vents skip the entire game. 3.splinter cell blacklist in term of gameplay that trying to please everyone.
