Each year the reefnet gear is pulled from the water after the salmon season and stored on land. The launch the following year, usually in July, is always quite an event requiring heavy equipment and fingers crossed. This was a successful operation...let the fishing begin!

VERY beautiful
Thank you!
Great views of runners/walkers and Tuttle!
Thanks Bill!
This is absolutely amazing! Congrats on a beautiful Bartender build. I've been out of touch with the Bartender launches for some time but this warms my heart. And George Calkins would be proud!
Thanks for the kind words!
Is there section where we can can use an sUAS to do a hovering time-lapse sunset there? Need a waiver?
Actually, I was on private land and was told later that I could not fly over the preserve itself.
As a kid we ran and played all over that place. That was during the late 70’s and early 80’s. No one ever bothered us. Then the yuppies took over, slapped signs up and all of a sudden it became off limits. What a shame……..so happy I was a kid then and not now.
@stevodakine1 I know what you mean however times have changed also. I went to Moss Landing this morning to shoot the sunrise and upon pulling up found that somebody dumped their trash and let it on fire... I spend the majority of my time in the forest where I find all sorts of litter and trash that can harm the wildlife. I myself have even been kicked out of the reserve section, Even covered in three cameras tripods and a backpack full of lenses. The population has gotten out of control, and with a greater population comes a greater population of idiots that destroy everything. Hummingbird Island in the reserve even has graffiti now. The caves up by Fremont Peak are all covered in graffiti, and Fremont Peak itself, at the flagpole, is covered in broken glass.
You got that plane near Moscow see it all the timde
much love to the people healing the land...your work is a blessing
I read about this place in Undestading Color in Photography and I gotta say that must be a beautiful to capture beautiful and soft scenes ❤❤
It really is a special place. And almost nobody around.
Great Video, fantastic location, thanks for sharing
Thank you Tony!
Awesome everything!
Thank you Suzy!
@@edmundlowephotography2334 I am currently back on Lummi Island-one of my favorite places in the world. Here's hoping nothing ever changes here!
@@SuzyTonini I've lived here for 47 years and it has changed very little in all that time. Fingers crossed!
Thank you Ed for wonderful images of what has happen to this environment.
Thanks Bill! I had fun making it.
Watching it twice won't be sufficient by any means. Phenomenal drone video!
Ed this is well worth watching a second time!
Thanks Bill, I had to make a few corrections and re-upload the whole movie. It appears I can't spell!
@@edmundlowephotography2334 Defeated by spelling, a malady I share, so I never noticed. You have a eye Mr. Lowe, a wonderful eye!
My dad grew up in Bellingham Washington as well as the lummi island area. One day I’ll get there to see what he saw growing up daily
Wouldn’t trade it for anything ❤
Look, but don't move here.
Have no fear. You get WAY too much snow!
Lummi Island was part of Ferndale School district, probably still is. The islanders were a breed apart. I'm talking early 60's...no local law enforcement, island kids had cars underage, money from Alaska salmon fishing...I shouldn't be surprised there is now a world-clss gourmet restaurant there now.
It hasn't changed a bit...except for the restaurant. We are an unusual bunch.
Beautiful, I'll always remember the gracious and friendly people that I met when I visited there.
Thank you very much for your video. We just visited the Willow Restaurant for a night and enjoyed our stay on this beautiful island. We loved getting to see more of this special spot You showcased the magnificent setting perfectly
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great time lapse of the deconstruction at Aiston. Thanks, Ed - don't know how you did that. Your description of the Island can use a Couple small corrections: The Island Chapel which meets at the Grange is another church. I read somewhere recently that a church is not a building, but the people who use the building. And Beach School was built in 1920, regardless of what the sign out front says.
Thanks Paul, I'll make those corrections. Love to be accurate.
Thanks to the Trust for their perseverance and Ed for his record of this event!
Great video Ed! Thanks for all your pictures and videos! All of that before you even see a fish!
I love to revisit favorite memories thank you
You really know how to work a camera. You should teach people. TOP notch work
Best video of palouse!
Terrific survey tour....we just returned and visited Steptoe Butte. Beaut is right. I just shared this with friends from East Coast and Midwest....Feels like a dream. Not even the U.S.: No billboards, highways, parking lots, agribusiness feed lots.

Great video, amazing pictures, thank you for sharing!
Beautiful! Makes me wish that I had my drone when there four years ago. It's amazing how the shots from Steptoe show such variation from one visit to another.
Wonderful! The drone shots are incredible!
Thanks a lot!
So beautiful. Illuminating. Thank you.
You are so welcome
I've been through this area a few times...nothing else in the world like it...(as far as I can tell)....
