Toto E-Max Fill Valve Leak Repair
This fixed a very slow hissing leak in the Toto toilet. The valve inside a new ulta-low flow Toto Toilet with E-Max (seems to be made by Korky), has a valve that is worn out after 2 years of use (have 2 that lasted about the same amount of time). Instead of replacing the whole mechanism, went to a local hardware store, and purchased the Korky Toilet Fill Valve Replacement Cap (says fits model no. 528). Cost less than $3, and worked perfect to stop the slow hissing leak.

This part has a lifespan of two to three years. Obviously they could make a better quality product that lasts longer but there's no incentive for doing so.
Thank you sooooo much!!!!
It’s a replacement instead of repair
After determining the cause of the problem, the non-func tioning part is removed and replaced with a functioning part. Textbook definition of a repair.
*Non-functioning* Unfortunately there isn't any way to repair a typo in a RUclips comment when using Firefox for Android.
Thank you for teaching a young plumber how to take apart e-max Toto valves! Your video saved me from trail by error and possibly an expensive mistake. Thank you!!
Thanks so much! Issue is fixed. Had to swap the pink flapper as well as it was kaput. Put on a hard plastic one from toto via Amazon.
Perfect video. Simple, explains it, shows the part, done! Thank you!
Thank you ! This video is exactly what I was looking for. Was able to find the part at Home Depot, and the toilet is now quiet, hopefully for long...
Awesome video, short and straight to the point. Thanks!!
Thanks Bill!
Nice clear video. Just one thing I'd like to note, sometimes all you have to do after you remove that cap is pull off the red rubber piece and wash it off, rather than replacing that whole unit.
Thanks, Bill
Thank you!
Thanks for your wonderful video. Even I was able to fix all my 4 Toto toilets!!!
great fix. you'd think that for the money you pay for a Toto they'd use better parts. thanks for the great video.
Great video! Follow the instructions and solve the problem for less than $5! Thank you very much.
This was exactly my problem and the video was perfect. Mine was also a slow hissing leak and difficult to hear without the cover off. It did affect my water bill though. I also want to point out that my toilet was only about a year and a half old and the original cap did not appear to be defective in any way. However, when I put the replacement in, the hissing stopped right away. Thanks Bill!
Great video! $4 Toilet Fill Valve Replacement Cap solved a $200 leak! Toto part THU302 or Korky R528
Perfect little video. Not a lot of chatter or BS. Helped me isolate the problem. No need to replace the entire valve making the repair cheaper and, more importantly, much quicker. Thank you for posting!
exactly my problem, thought it was the flapper - replaced that and still hissing. Back to HomeDepot I go!
Thanks so much for your help! Really appreciate it.
Thanks for this vid.I was able to fix my toiled in < 5 minutes and $5.
Great instruction, very helpful! Thank you for posting.
