Keep the look. But everybody _expects_ you to sound like you're groaning about whisky and longing for a nondescript woman. That makes it cliché, predictable, boring. Write some lyrics that you haven't heard anybody ever sing before, imo. Maybe add a little 'whoop, whoop,' to appeal to cross-genre audience. Maybe sing, soulfully, 'I'm addicted to drinking blueberry milk, and your love reminds me of a...uh.. ladybug punch-bug driving down the interstate.'
