Whaling was banned in 1986 by 89 countries, including those in Europe, including DENMARK. FEROES Danish protectorate located between Greenland and Scotland proclaims not being EUROPEAN to avoid the BAN. However, they are impatiently waiting for subsidies from Europe through DENMARK !!! This "tradition" of the Danish of Feroes would have been understandable a long time ago when humans were few with limited means and only levied according to their vital needs. Thank you Germany your action is essential! Perhaps, would be interesting to meet consulate all EU Countries Sea Shepherd rep are present (Germany, France, UK, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg etc...) as Danish Faroes received Subsidies from EU even if they claim not to be part of EU in order to avoid the whaling ban and keep on whaling?

I) ESSENTIAL ROLE of WHALES and DOLPHINS EN - WHALES & O2 Whales, Dolphins, Marine Mammals and all Marine Species including sharks are vital for the health of the Oceans, the Marine Life and also for Oxygen of the Air we breathe! Phytoplankton (vegetal) produces O2 (di-oxygen) and is a CO2 (dioxide-carbon) recycler. Phytoplankton feeds on mineral salts and carbon (CO2), which it then releases as oxygen (O2). The oxygen produced composes more than 50% of the Earth's atmosphere. Whales, sharks and all marine mammals are the predators of several species such as zooplankton (animal) that eat plankton. Slaughtering Marine Mammals causes an increase of zooplankton and small fishes eating phytoplankton that dramatically decrease as well as O2 producing. The destruction of marine life by the Japaneses, Norwegians, Icelandic and Faroes will have extremely detrimental consequences for human life on earth. Within less than 100 years the oceans could become a lifeless desert and that probably the whole earthly life would also disappear because of the lack of oxygen! Sea Shepherd not only protect Marine Species but indirectly they Protect all of us including Future Generation!
